VORBISLQ
WAVPACK
ATRC.DLL
COOK.DLL
RV20.DLL
RV30.DLL
RV40.DLL
SIPR.DLL
WMA9PRODECODER.DLL (For those who need it)
WMV9DECODER.DLL (For those who need it)
Includes AVRCP Support, and the program can now be skinned (Additionally, skin creators can now include a fullscreen button).
This installation is smaller, due to the fact that many of the dependencies on external DLL's have been removed, and the plugins have been recompiled to be smaller, and more efficient.
Many of the modifications were done by bimbam69, see his continuing development/release thread Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=636423 for his other versions, various skins for TCPMP can also be found in this thread.
The rmplugin was created by ghosting from pdafans.com Thread Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=645456
CURRENT VERSION = 6.5.1
Version 6.5.1 changes are more streamlined codecs, and support for Monkey's Audio files, most useful if you extract the audio tracks from certain Playstation 1 games (Games where you could listen to the in-game soundtrack if you put the original disc into a CD player (Hot Wheels Extreme Racing, WipeOut 2097, and Sled Storm, for example)), you can now listen to those files without first converting them to the .mp3 format.
(An example of a skin with a fullscreen button can be found Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8983525&postcount=25)
Here are some Optimized VGA Skins: http://www.mediafire.com/?sq8c3wawoawhsjw Credit goes to the original creators of these skins.
Here's my new LCARS Skin: http://www.mediafire.com/?7m8gtfydv5gkhob
For installation cleanup, delete SetupDLL.dll/Setup.dll whichever one is present...
Enjoy!

First, delete ALL registry entries for settings in TCPMP, then start the program, set file associations in the settings/associations submenu, and then restart your device. If you still cannot play the file, convert it.

Honestly, I couldn't tell you, I make an effort to stay away from files with video encoded in those two formats. That being said, these types of files should at least open in TCPMP, how well they play remains to be seen.

This so called SUPER VERSION of the FFMPEG.PLG still does not work for CINEPAK. I told u this in your last codec pack. I know it says it works with CINEPAK on BIMBAMS thread but his build does not work with CINEPAK. Its weird cause when he first released his build it was compatable with CINEPAK but no longer is.

No there is nothin different. Its the same FFMPEG.PLG that BIMBAM has been using for 8 months or so. I have told UNIT & BIMBAM that it does not support CINEPAK but i guess they just ignore my words cause they still advertise that CINEPAK works. I say this cause your question refers to FLV4 files, and if you try to play a CINEPAK file u will get an error the if u try to play a FLV4 after trying a CINEPAK file u will get an error until u restart TCPMP. For some reason u cannot play FLV4 files after tryin to play CINPAK files and this is why i am makin a big deal of it. It drives me crazy. I have lots of AVI & MOV files that simply won't play and lots of FLV4 files that will not play after selecting these files unless i restart TCPMP. Its annoying.

I forgot to mention that I always liked the SUBS.PLG better than the subtitle plugin that comes with TCPMP. I noticed its better now but how do i get it to display correctly in fullscreen. The text is upside down in fullscreen.

Just a couple questions: Did you clear ALL your registry settings and install entries, as well as delete ALL related files and COMPLETELY uninstall your previous version of TCPMP, and soft-reset your device before installing this player and codec pack? If you did indeed do so, you should experience few, if any difficulties. I cannot tell you what, if any cinepack issues exist, as I personally do not posses any files in that format. If you could post samples of the "lots of... files that will not play" perhaps we can get to the bottom of this. Try posting them in bimbam's thread as well, he is the primary programmer for this project, I just do graphics, and assemble the packs for distribution.

What direction is the program oriented in? Right handed or Left handed? Also, which version of the "SUBS" plugin do you have? On another note, if a filetype does not play in TCPMP, there are several free solutions for converting it to another format that will play. Personally, I recommend SUPER.

i already got to the bottom of the issue. CINEPAK simply is not supported. when BIMBAM first released his build CINEPAK was but after a couple releases it no longer was supported. i just though ur release would be something new. i do not need to convert my files cause i use my own build of TCPMP that actually plays CINEPAK. just lettin u know so u could inform others that may ask why CINEPAK files won't play.

Here is a link to where u can find some small CINEPAK samples. Test some out so u can see that CINEPAK is not playable. You will get an popup error each time u try to play any of the samples.

Clear ALL your registry settings and entries, then double check your file associations in TCPMP. If the format is FLV4, there may be some playback issues, try converting the file to another format. Also, Try ALL (22+) available video formats before saying Coreplayer is better. TCPMP has several distinct advantages: For Starters, It's Free.

l ve cleared all registry!!! no change...

Jesus, when this is really working then we all can make a step in the right direction.
Thank you for sharing Unit ZER0...

Many thanks Unit ZERO! Installed it yesterday and it seems a lot more stable when playing .avi than the previous incarnation. I will continue to use it and feedback.

Thanks OP.
This version works better than the 0.81RC version I was using. I think it's also better than the paid core player version, because I can put the device into standby without streaming music stopping.
Cheers.

If your FLV files use the AVC (H.264) codec they will not play with TCPMP. To check this play the files in COREPLAYER and check media properties to see what video codec they use. Other files that use the AVC (H.264) codec will play but FLV files using that codec will not. FLV with AVC (H.264) codec have never played in TCPMP.

TCPMP will not stream AVI files?

Hi All,
I have TCPMP V0.72 (And 0.71) and sucessfully streamed MPG video and MP3 audio from my NAS box. However any AVI (No matter what codec has compressed it) just will not play..... it seems to load the ile correctly and everything looks ready to go but when you press play it just freezes...
I have tried this on WM5 Ultimate and WM6 Beautiful (Thanks KDS ) and they both seem to show this feature.
Any ideas?
Now, thats odd. I just watched an avi file compressed with divx codec(with mp3 audio stream) with TCPMP provided in V.72.
What codec are you using?
Hi KDS,
The files are compressed with random codecs the main ones i am trying are based on Core ASP (The compression was done on my linux box). The phone has all the codecs i could find installed
AAC
FFMPEG
FLAC
AC3 (audio only i think)
speex (no idea)
Vorbis (i assume for ogg audio)
I just tried an AVI with no compression and it worked (except for stuttering caused by the data rate)
I am new to the universal ROM cooking world. I think it used to work although very choppy when i tried a while ago..... (EDIT probably over a year On the standard Vodafone UK install and a previos version of TCPMP (no idea what versions though)
Gotcha!
I'd not installed any of those plugins to avoid extra space inside the ROM.
Just put the given below files inside the windows folder and try watching your videos/movies again.
Do tell me if they worked for you
Hi KDS,
Just tried a hard reset then installed TCPMP 0.72RC1 then copied the suggested files to the folder.
Then i used netuse to lock onto the local file and then opened a file in TCPMP.
Once again everything looks ok until i press play and nothing happens. It then freezes me out if i try and open another file.... These files open and play normally if they are on the SD card.
TO recap everything is fine until i try to load a compressed AVI (I managed to see an uncompressed one) Are these read or transmitted in a different way?
There are so many different things i could change but i would be stabbing in the dark not knowing what the issues are, should i look at something other than the universal to make this work (lan storage unit firmware etc,)
Any guidance would be appreciated as this is the final hurdle to getting the universal to be the centre point for my home entertainment system
You tried the files in abovementioned post?
Hi KDS,
Yes i did try but got nothing.
It looks like;
It is not TCPMP streaming over the network as this works (with uncompressed files)
It is not Compressed files as they play from the SD card properly.
It is not the version of WM5 vs WM6 or any OS related feature as in all the different roms i have tried it fails and works in the same way.
My final attempt tonight is to stream from a completely differnt source (a PC based SAMBA share) hopefully this will work and will be at least able to watch recorded TV and the most recently converted video.
Seems i have a strange one here....thanks for the help though
KDS would you think there would be any merit in changing the firmware on the wireless router?
I just proved everything works with a PC based SAMBA share. (through the wireless router)
So it leaves only the NAS box left to blame....i really wanted to have my media stored in this fashion as it means i do not need to have a PC on all the time.
Anyway thanks for a very good site, forum and members... and now i have my Univeral and Palm treo v750 on WM^ i am sure i will stick around. and get well and truely besotted with all things HTC.....
Til next time
@KDS Thanks for trying it is nice to have sucjh direct contact to a person in the know.
Glad that the things worked for you!

btw, is there any way to browse the list of video files.

best tcpmp/core player settings please, please

i've been fiddling for some time now. does anyone know the best settings, only when the screen shots pan quickly there's quite a bit of stutter.
anyone know, or will this always be the case (i apreciate it's probably never gonna be perfect)?
many thanks
you can use tcmp for al files but windows files:
go to: tcmp - settings file associations and click on all the types of media file - i.e. wav, avi, wmv, mpeg etc etc
i also get the stutter when i use wmp, have no idea why, when i used wm5 rom worked great, now doesnt?? anyone knwo why this is?

video playback.... choppy

I tried putting a small video clip on my memory card. When I open it it plays like it's in slow motion, and it's really choppy. The audio for the clip plays in normal speed.
so a few questions...
Is there a best format of video files for my excalibur?
Is there mabey a player better than windows media player?
I hacked my psp a few years back. I was able to download full movies and watch them on it. I may be asking too much... but I'm wondering if it's possible to do this with my phone.
when I'm at work with my phone in my hand the ol' boss doesn't mind. Of course when I'm hanging on to a game system.... the **** hit's the fan!
Here you are a free bit of software that can recode videos http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html download link @ bottom there is lot's of speal...
I use A-One FLV to AVI but it's not free, there is alot of software that can do it.
I recomended SUPER as i know lots of peeps use it, so set the resolution 320x240 keep bitrate down on video larger it is larger output file, audio can be set to mono and again about 64kbit/s and still be fine, .mp4 is a good quality for Mobile video or for even more compression .3gp
Re: Player TCPMP "to which is free" or CorePlayer "the pay version"
I've tried downloading TCPMP. When I try installing it I get a message that the install package isn't designed for my device.
this is where I'm downloading it from.

Is there a different version that I need to use?

Try VLC Media Player you will want codecs CCCP is XP & Vista compatable "if you have any other codec packs installed then do not install"
well i actually wanted to start a mobile movie thread
like..i will be encodeing movies for mobiles..which will play without a hitch...and patches...
and uploading them on rapidshare or megaupload..
sooo what say??
what happens if you run out of battery in the middle of a movie, can you fastforward it afterwards and in an "easy" way? If it's possible, it depends on the video format, video player or both?

Big News! rmplugin(not rmsplitter) for tcpmp!!

It's a rmplugin for tcpmp developed by ghosting from pdafans.com(Chinese).
Source: bbs.pdafans.com/viewthread.php?tid=884413&extra=&highlight=&page=1
It was tested on Xda flame with rv40+aac,rv30+cook(low bitrate).
But it didn't play so smoothly with rv40+aac(640*480,25fps,600kbps).
important: try to import the fix.reg while your rm video can't be played.
Sorry for my BAD English....
These are nice news indeed Did the author rlease the source code for this (and if so could you post it here? pdafans doesn't allow to view posts unless you're a member...).
The plugin seems to piggyback on dlls compiled from mplayer by ajeet (version 0.3).
Just tried and it works quite well (apart from a display issue if "Pixel Aspect Ratio" is set to "Auto"... the image becomes too stretched...).
the author said he would release the source code soon.
but until now I didn't see the source.
Maybe the Mplayer on ppc and this rmplugin share the same binary code from real, I think.
in addition, thank you for your introduction to this new mplayer.
Those are good news
TCPMP has been seeing a lot of action lately. bimbam69 did some much needed updates and improvements and even skin support to TCPMP.
ajeet hasn't released his sources yet... Don't know if those plugins can be compiled direcly from mplayer without any modifications... If not we'll have to wait for him to update these components or release the sources.
Sorta works... Sorta doesn't...
Just downloaded, currently testing... So far, the .rmvb files I have will parse, and I can hear the audio just fine, unfortunately I could do the same with my previous rmsplitter plugin. I still cannot see video however. I get the error message "RealVideo9 not supported!" any ideas? Is this an improvement over just the rmsplitter plugin? and if so, which RealVideo formats does it support?
Video works for me...
Try deleting the old rmsplitter and the whole TCPMP registry subkey using a registry editor...

As it turns out, I did not need to delete the subkey, It appears .rm files encoded using RealVideo9 cannot be played, but .rm files encoded using older versions of RealVideo can. During testing, I also noticed that audio and video were out of sync, with the video playing approximately .5 to .7 seconds faster than the audio playback. Also, the video tended to freeze at points with high motion, then jump forward to a almost synced point. Compared to the .rm plugin for PWMP, the video playback is a cut above, smooth and crisp, if a bit choppy. However, the PWMP version has slightly better audio synchronization, with the audio stopping when the video did, even with chop. This plugin is a significant step forward in the area of RealMedia playback, but more testing/development is needed, especially in the areas of removing .dll dependencies altogether, and improving audio/video synchronization though this may be a hardware issue. I am definitely looking at this as a valuable addition to my Master Codec Pack once development is complete.
The video playback portion is done by the dll files that were done by ajeet...
In his thread some users reported they needed to use add LoadModuleLow, 1 (reg name, value) to use them but I personally didn't experince this (did you import the fix.reg file to your registry?). Then again other users in ajeet thread were also not able to watch real video.
ghosting won't be able to update these since ajeet never released the source (also the latest version of wince mplayer doesn't even come with the rv20, rv30 and rv40 dlls).
Actually, I entered all the reg entries manually, and playback works almost flawlessly with lower bitrate files, not perfect, but as I mentioned previously, a significant step foreward. I also had no problems once the reg values were loaded. now what did you mean by: "add LoadModuleLow, 1 (reg name, value)" ?
What I meant was to do exactly what you did (entering those reg keys)...
try to import fix.reg...
Hey great news a new plugin
But unfortunatly I can't get it to play real media files Can you post some test files, because all files i have can't be played. I downloaded some test files from http://service.real.com/realplayer/test/.
Also there is an idea for dev who is workin on it a ffmpeg has its native decoders for realmedia.
@bimbam69
How did you download the files (I couldn't... those were just the streaming protocol links)?
Try mplayer sample database
I've downloaded those files using rmDownloder Anyway thanks for link to some not bad collection of test files
Tried real media videos from there ant some files were played on tcpmp. Plugin works for me without adding reg values.
thank you........

[Guide] How to encoding HD Video for Windows Phone 7

Encoding HD Video for Windows Phone 7
Zune offers by default an automatic conversion of videos for Windows Phone 7. However the quality is not always what you want, the encoding time is endless and often lacks many options such as subtitles.
This guide was produced for encoding high definition video 720p or 1080p to Windows Phone 7. You can use the same method to encode videos lower quality but the result won't be conclusive.
Software & Encoding Setup
Many programs exist to encode each with their advantages and disadvantages. Some are paying others do not.
VidCoder offers all the advantages: free, easy to use while providing many functionalities.
The encoding is configured with the following parameters:
Container
mp4 File
Video
800 x 480 resolution (default for Windows Phone 7) in order to have 1:1 pixel ratio
Codec : H264 2 Pass
Bitrate 1200 kbps
Audio
AAC Stereo 128 kbps
Experienced users can manually adjusted the settings.
Install & Configuration
Download VidCoder from official webpage : http://vidcoder.codeplex.com/
VidCoder-0.9.0-x86.exe or VidCoder-0.9.0-x64.exe
Install application with standard option
Download and unzip from this topic the xml configuration file : Windows Phone 7.xml
Start VidCoder
Click "Tools" and "Import Preset.."
{

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Select the "Windows Phone 7.xml" file and click OK
The new Preset "Windows Phone 7" is used by default
Encoding
Drag & Drop any video in VidCoder
After tools detect your file add subtitles if you want. click Edit on subtitles line
Select your subtitles or import srt file and click "Burned In" to add it on video
Check Preview if you want and click Encode
Send video to your mobile with Zune (zune won't convert it again)
Done
You can now see the Best Video Quality Ever on Windows Phone 7 !
Q&A
My video is not recognized after drag & drop
Before Drag & Drop try to remux your video with mkvmerge Gui : mkvtoolnix-unicode-4.8.0-setup.exe
My subtitles doesn't work
Try to convert them to ass and integer in video with mkvmerge Gui
Great guide, thanks.
Thanks so much
wow extremely good info!
where were you at a few months ago??? lol
time to encode some anime for my wp7 mwahaha - with subs!!!!
I used HDConvertToX before VidCoder.
This application is also very effective but much more complicated for an equivalent result. Drag & drop and direct dvd or bluray encode of vidcoder is very cool.
If you want to limite video size change the video bitrate settings....
I tried Vidcoder with your wp7 presets and with Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2 and It was terrible, the sound slowly goes out of sync and the framerate lags.
Using Zune to convert the film and everything was ok so I'm still sticking to Zune for the moment. Thanks for the information though.

2 hours action movies without lag on samsung omnia 7. Check your source video.
WP7 can play 2500 kbps video. We are far under this number.
I use Daniusoft Video Converter Ultimate, and my blu-ray movies are perfect on WP 7.
FPM
Handbrake
I started using Handbrake to shrink my movie file. Unfortunately, it still takes forever for Zune to transfer. What are the transfer times you guys are getting using this program?
If I select external .srt subtitle, there is no option to select "burn in subtitle". So subtitles are not visible.
Nice tutorial there... I'm running some random vids through to check out the quality...
I normally use AVS video converter and I usually encode to 1500 or 3000 bitrate depending on the source and what the vid is... I did some tests on the battle scenes of avatar and I'm sure the 3000 bitrate was noticeably better... When I play people the avatar clip peoples jaws always drop...
Either way it seems an easy to use app... Nice one...

Nice one...

1500 or 3000 will always give better results. However on a 4" screen, difference is really minimal above 1000 kbps.
Everything is a question of quality / size as well. Personally my action movies in 1200 kbps are very good and have 1 GB to 2 hours of footage
And for series between 150 and 600 MB.
To be honest, I only encode 'show off' videos @ 3000... I can see the difference even on my LG...
All the rest are 1500...

In Zune you must see "Syncing" if you see converting it's because your custom encoding preset are not compatible with device. What settings are you using ?
I use the Iphone Preset. And it does say Syncing and not converting. I've had it take over an hour to sync a movie, I spent three hours in Handbrake converting

Great tutorial , have shared it via 1800pocketpc : http://www.1800pocketpc.com/2011/06/05/encoding-hd-videos-with-subtitles-for-windows-phone-tutorial.html
What a waste of time WP7 is
What a waste of time Zune is....
I don't want to be obliged to encode or convert my movies, etc.
I just want to drag & drop my AVI movie files to my phone and watch them immediately, like I always did before with WinMo.
Why WP7 is still not supporting DivX|avi file format?
And let me avoid Zune. It wastes my time and does a bad job.

Then use an OS that meets your need to drag and drop files directly to the device. Far from a waste of time because it doesnt work for you.
Thank You Buddy................

"I just want to drag & drop" Rofl? Get off your lazy ass. You are the kind of people that just leech off others and don't appreciate what other people contributed to this community. Maybe you should've done some research before you got the phone. The reason why Microsoft wants us to use Zune is that they can make more profit, thats how the business world works. If it wastes your time then just watch it on your Pc then, no one is stopping you from doing that.
Back to the point the converter is very nice however it takes around 50-60mins to convert the HD video(40mins duration) which does seem to be quite a large amount of time but overall quality is good
