You could get Google Maps navigation on any ROM..
The most popular HTC Sense-based ROMs are LeeDroiD and AuraxTSense, they're pretty much the same, have a look at both threads and pick your favourite..
Mind you, you'll lose the Skype/MSN apps that get shipped on Three phones, should be able to find them on the net after and re-install

Skypes now available on the market

I would try LeeDroid or VillianRom, both are good stable Sense roms.
I think what the OP is asking is the new navigation found in the sense hd roms and a sync app that can sync to www.htcsense.com/
But I could be wrong.

Sorry for the NOOB question, but does anyone know if it is possible to install any of the HTC Sense apps on top of CyanogenMod 6?
I love the CyanogenMod ROM's, but there are also some things I like about HTC Sense too. In an ideal world, I'd like the following:
- CyanogenMod 6
- HTC Sense E-mail App
- HTC Sense Widgets
- AOSP Standard everywhere else... Contacts, SMS, etc.
Is this possible?
No impossible but you can find similar apps for each
Short and to the point answer is....
Nope, if you want sense, then run a sense rom. But you can use google to maybe find other applications that can mimick what you want to accomplish.

Yes, I'm using Fancy Widget which is one of the most important... I just wish there was something like the Sense e-mail app. The AOSP e-mail app, isn't as user friendly... I've looked online and tried K9 (no good for Exchange, which is what I'm using) and Touchdown (doesn't integrate well with the rest of the UI)
Do you know if any of the Sense Froyo ROM's are supporting multiple exchange accounts yet? I know Cyanogen's does, but it's not Sense
No. Most HTC apps require the framework from a sense based rom. And the HTC widgets only work with Sense.
For future reference, questions like this should be posted in the general or apps forums, or if you really need to post it in the development section at least ask the question in the appropriate rom's thread. Not trying to be an a$$ but thought I would throw that out there before anyone jumped all over you.
Did this really just get asked? again?
Q&A sounds like theright place to post this.
As other have already stated, try the market place for similar apps.
Cyanogen is open source so asking for sense apps is like asking for a pair shackles to go with your get out jail free card.

And i quote from the man himself......
"THIS IS NOT HTC SENSE AND NEVER WILL BE. DO NOT ASK ABOUT IT IN THIS THREAD. THANK YOU."
if you know anything about cyanogen, which you should since you are using his rom he will never ever ever ever ever use anything but stock android thats one of the reasons that his roms are the best, plus he is the pioneer for android customization!!!
i dont believe the OP was asking for sense to be integrated into CM, just if htc widgets would still work, and if not for good replacements. Not everyone knows that they need the sense framework to function.
Some have been ported over.
Search around.
Other's generally don;'t work. Sprint apps work regardless of framework.
Yeah, I can understand where the OP's coming from. I love the CM ROMs, but there's a couple parts of Sense that I wish I could install piecemeal on top of it.
It would be ridiculous to imply that Cyanogen should ever incorporate them into his ROM since the lack of proprietary crap is his biggest attraction, but at the end of the day I still miss that stupid HTC weather widget.

That's exactly right Scooter, thanks...
i am currently running DeFrost 3.2 and i was wondering how to install a htc program, such as music or the HTC weather app.
if it is possible
thanks in advance
Use astro file manager, or estrong. Navigate to the apk and install it.
Not sure if you can use HTC ones though as they are only for sense roms.
As said, HTC apps/widgets are Sense only...
ahh thats a shame, thanks anyway guys

I presume this is then linked to why you cannot use many of them in launcherpro?
well I know for a fact that HTC music and HTC weather widgets and their relevant apps work on a LP desktop, so I can't see any reason why they would not work.
They have their own .apk's and everything.
Just wondering if anyone who had ported the desire HD rom has tried out HTCSense.com. If so please report findings and screenshots if you have them.
Htc hub doesn't work on the rom I'm using. I went to use htcsense.com last night but it had some error loading the terms of service, so it wouldn't let me through.
Desire HD htcsense.com
I was running the Desire HD rom for awhile but went back to another rom.
I just logged in to htcsense.com this morning with the account I created while running Desire HD and everything seems to work, even though i am not currently runing the Desire HD rom.
I will make it a point to go back to Desire HD once he has the camera fully functional because it was impressive, it would be sweet to utilize the htc sense functions.
Just saying...
Works for me. I'm running v0.6 and it synced all my stuff. Msgs, People, locations. Just apps doesnt work right. its cool. i guess. I havent tried the wipe phone etc lol.

So are you saying that one could flash the HD ROM...setup an account...switch roms...and still use the features of HTCSense.com? I really like that plan.

No, I tried out DI's HD rom a while back and created my HTCsense account. After logging into it today, it looks as if my account is actually there, it even has my backed up text messages, and contacts from when I was running the HD rom, but since I flashed to a new ROM all connectivity with the HTCsense site has stopped.
So just to sum it up, HTCsense.com will only work(sync) when you are running a ROM that is based off the newest version of sense, like the Desire HD or Z roms at the moment.
I really hope someone figures out this camera thing out soon, I don't care if its the new camera interface or even the one the Inc uses now, but once its sorted I will switch back for good the new features are things I've hoped to have for a while now.
Despite the absence of the camera - the incdoes desire hd is my daily driver now. Way too many improvements over any previous custom sense or aosp ROM that I have tried. My recommendation - try it out - you will be very surprised.
Also, new desire HD dump is here too and apparently its even better. I am awaiting that to be ported over to the inc.

no theres another new hd dump
Yeah I can get in to htcsense.com as well with the account I made when I first loaded ID's DesireHD ROM as well - but since I'm not currently running it I can't see how it interacts with the phone - but I can browse all the stuff on the site
I'm not able to access it from the phone, haven't tried it from my laptop though
Sent from my Incredible using Tapatalk
I went to the site, www.htcsense.com, then signed up, saying that my phone was the desire HD, then it said I had to sign in on my phone then activate it on the omp. so I loaded .06 of the incdoe port, i was able to sign in to htchub and it completed the thing for the site, i was able to make the phone ring from the website send stuff to it, lock it use all the feature and all that it was pretty cool. Im loading my stock 2.2 ota back we'll see if I can still log on to the site still.
Thread moved to Q&A.
Is anyone working on porting HTC Locations from the Desire Z and Desire HD to the Desire?
If not, are their any guides on getting started with this sort of project? I've done some development over the years on various platforms so I'm sure I could pick this up or contribute.
That would really be awesome. The best thing i like about the new Desire line is the HTC Locations and HTC Navigation bit.
Not sure anyone would want to take this on as you can just flash a HD rom and use it that way. The camera will be fixed eventually and that's the only issue with the hd roms. Unless you're opposed to your apps needing an ext partition.
I didn't realise you could do that, I'll head over and take a look, thanks for the info.
RCMixHD is best HD rom at the minute. Requires an EXT partition on your sdcard. Minimum 512mb i recommend at least 700mb one though. No Swap partition also.
Once you have the rom installed you must download Maps through it for anything to work (poi etc). UK maps were 400mb+
EDIT:
Also bear in mind that the camera doesn't work yet as a lot of stuff needs editing for it to work. The guys are working hard for it.

There are other things I'm not very found in the HD roms.
For once everything is smaller giving the lower dpi that the HD has compared to our Desire. One example is the keyboard that was almost useless if you have bigger fingers although I saw that's been fixed by replacing it with the Desire Z keyboard. But there are other stuff too.
I do think porting the HTC Location is a better way but I might think this is not so easy. For once will you able to legally buy the navigation part after you download the maps if you have another device that the Desire HD? And if you reflash are you still able to use the license and not pay again.
So I do think you're right about people not jumping in on this, but it would be great though
Yeah it's a shame really. The best we can hope for is for HTC to update our Desires with a new Sense rom that fits on Nand...could be asking too much of HTC there though!
Smaller DPI is SO much better, makes it look smooth - much prefer it to normal Sense on the Desire

It's a special file or partition where the OS stores less used data from RAM so that more RAM is available for apps that need it

According to a news site I follow in Denmark, it was confirmed by HTC on a press meeting in China earlier this month, that the new Sense (and support for htcsense.com) will become available for HTC Desire through a future update sometime before 2011.
The news came from a translation of this tw page:
http://www.eprice.com.tw/mobile/talk/?prod_id=4018&tid=4520460
I'm not sure if Locations will be a part of this (rumoured) update, but it wouldn't make sense not to include it, imo.
HTC Locations
Hi, I was wondering, has anyone revisited this? I'm really curious if it's possible to launch HTC Locations on a rooted Desire with CM7.1
Hi, thought i'd have a change from iphones so i got one of these. Been looking at custom ROMS but dont want to mess anything up
* Will i lose all my contacts/apps etc... if i install
* Will it affect anything like PSX4Droid?
* Can i brick it? if so can it be restored easily like iphone
thanks
Hi,
You will lose everything on the phone. Contacts should be either Sync'd with Google or on the SIM card before you start to flash.
Any apps you have bought from the Market can be downloaded again, also some apps may not be compatible with the newer versions of Android.
You can brick your handset, its very rare, but it can happen. Software modifications do not affect your warranty with HTC, so you should be able to get a repair/replacement should anything go wrong.
