As some of you might have noticed, the lates 2.2 build from Samsung deleted some of the stock Android Live Wallpapers. I'm for one missing them, mostly the one with the water and autumn leafs floating by.
Is there anyway of getting the stock Android wallpapers back on my Galaxy? I've noticed a apk-file in some places (in XDA too) that should install them:

But for me, it dosen't install at all, just cancels the installation progres. Any ideas?
So I managed to install the livewallpapers.apk by downloading root explorer and going to system/app and deleting livewallpapers.apk and livewallpapers.odex files. Then boot and install livewallpapers.apk.
But now I don't have any livewallpapers on my phone, it dosen't even show on the wallpapers-section! How do I undo the damage, is there anyway of returning the original ivewallpapers.apk and livewallpapers.odex -files to the system-folder?

The autumn leaves is definetly my favorite too. The #1 reason why I'd like the stock wallpapers on my phone. I'd be great if there were a single apk-file that would install the autumn leaves back to my Galaxy S.
So to answer your question: I did get the stock wallpapers back. For a while at least. I did like I said in my second post, and managed to make them appear and work for a while. Then a day later I noticed that they didn't work properly anymore. They still were there, but when I selected one, the phone showed only blurry animations that didn't work properly.
So I had to paste the original livewallpapers.odx and apk -files back. :-(
Hi everyone! I've been desperately looking for a LWP from S I9000 but in vain. I remember it was pretty colorful: a turquoise sea with sand, sea star and seashells. It was so beautiful and I really miss it. Can someone help to find it? Thanks!

I'm interested in getting the Ocean waves live wallpaper on my Galaxy S2, the one that Samsung Galaxy S originally had by default. Found it on the market, but it doesn't work. It crashes before loading when i try to select it. Is there anyone that has a working version or can anyone report that it works on their Galaxy S2 ? Thanks

I have an evo shift, and I loved this wallpaper as well when I had android 2.2. Unfortunately, when I upgraded to 2.3.3 it stopped working, same force close error. I read somewhere else that this is because the libraries that this wallpaper uses are incompatible with android 2.3.... Also, because I am not a developer and know nothing about programming these things, I have no idea what that means or how to fix it. I'm hoping that somebody can get this wallpaper working on 2.3 soon, because it is beautiful and I would love to be able to use it again.
Great substitute for Ovean Waves live wallpaper
Since I haven't been able to find a working version either, I came up with a substitute.
Install Touch Ripples from app market. Be sure to get the paid app so you can change the background picture.
Set ocean waves.jpg (attached) as background within the wallpaper app. Move the size sliders (at top) all the way to the right for the best picture.
You'll want to play with the settings to get the ripples just right. At least we can have a look-a-like until samsung updates the wallpaper app.

Ive loved the Samsung LWP since the original Galaxy S...essentially the issue with many of these ported Samsung LWP is that they do not work at all on 2.3 and will only work with 2.2. I have tried several ways to try to install them however as far as I know looking at other threads regarding to these LWP is that the Samsung LWP was relatively integrated into their framework, in part with TouchWiz, therefore cannot be ported easily. HTC Sense is also relatively the same with only one that I know of which works perfect with 2.3 but requires relative changes to the root of the phone (does not work on Samsung but worked on all other HTCs). All the others FC unfortunately.
Koi free live wallpaper is equally good and its free.

Hello Guys,
This can be worked in ODEXED build roms only. The name of Wallpaper is "Secretwallpaper1.apk" with a odex file(I have renamed to .txt, please rename to .odex extn). Find the attached file & push both files in /System/app with rights of -rw-r--r--. then reboot.
If anyone can Deodexed the apk then it will be wonderful.

I don't think it's a separate apk like the others are. I think it's bundled together with an apk called Android Live Wallpapers 2.2. I did a titanium backup from my moms Vibrant and plan on trying to load the apk but I'm reluctant in fear of screwing something up. An alternative would be the Live Wallpaper from Beautiful Widgets and it's the exact same thing. Tried it myself and it ran like **** and lagged like hell.

I got the apk files from the nexus one thread and tried to install the apk file in system/apk (root), it tells me it will copy over (join) the files. Opening live wallpapers.... nothing happend. So disapointed. Im going to look if i can make a galaxy apk myself. But im by no means a coder so don't hold your breath.

I just took a screenshot of the Beautiful Widgets Grass Live Wallpaper, cropped it and used that instead. Saves battery and looks good to me!
I just like that the background changes color during the day. During the day it's nice and bright and easy to see but at night the background is dim so I don't piss off my gf in bed.
Does it really use that much battery? Anyone know of any other backgrounds that change color? I don't really care about the grass moving.

Hi, can someone detail the steps to properly re-install the phasebeam wallpaper?
i downloaded AOKP build 25 and for some reason they decided to replace the original phase beam with their own unicorn wallpaper as opposed to just adding it as a seperate wallpaper.
Anyway, I tried to re-install the original one by going into root explorer, deleting the unicornporn.apk and copying the original phasebeam.apk to /system/app, I then clicked on it, was prompted to install it and replace the system application, clicked yes and installed it successfully. The problem is it doesn't appear in my list of live wallpapers or the list of installed apps, I rebooted the phone and it's still not there

I think he said that it's only in build 25, next build will either revert to the original Phase Beam or have both available. So I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Hi guys. Ok, I will try to make this as easy as I can.
I just got this phone and I finally got it with a fresh ROM. Now, the camera sucks. I dont like it at all.
I got used to the one on my S3 Mini with custom ROM (PAC-MAN Rom), but now I cannot find it anywhere, or at least, one that will work on my phone.

Its great, quick pics, auto focus, pics while in video recording... etc etc.
But it has TONS of ads. It sucks balls, because you are taking pics and you get a big ass ad in the middle of the screen, and "recomended apps" on the corner. So, I searched my files and found the ROM I used to have on my S3 Mini, searched for the camera APK and put it on my S3 to install it. It didnt. It wouldnt want to install. Not from the phone, ADB, etc.
So, I installed the one on the market, replaced the apk file with my wanted camera, and opened, for about 2 mins until started to freeze, not take pics and then not opening at all.
So, my question is, is there anyone who has it already installed? Can the market one can be modded to get rid of the ads? Maybe adapt my apk to make it install? Something?
BTW, here is a copy of the camera app I want to make work.

I'm coming from an Android 8 Galaxy S8+ back to google (last google phone was the nexus 5... I was waiting for Wireless charging again.. hah!) and got it set up. The thing I've noticed is that the wallpapers app has different (and generally worse, in my opinion) live wallpapers then I had on the previous wallpapers app. I'm assuming the app displays different live wallpapers (called live wallpapers on 8 and now 'living universe' on 9). Any idea if theres a way to get the older wallpapers back? I really liked the old beach one and a few others.

ditto I like the old street one where the car drives by. I was able to download an app to get the old wallpapers but then I can't manually switch to dark theme even though I could on 2 xl when it was on Pie...slightly annoyed.
You can download the APK for the P2 Wlwallpapers around here somewhere, I've got both Pixel two and three on my One plus 5 right now. You'd be wanting the ported version rather than the stock APK I'm thinking because there are a couple duplicates and that will prevent conflicts. You will have two of the same in the case of the dupes and can select either one when you set.
Can't disagree, I think ifi could only have one if go with the P2s.
