Hello,
I have on my device the Windows Live version 10.6.XXX but I would like to update it with the 11 version. The instructions of market place say that you should unistall all the older version before install the new one but, how can I remove it?
Someone has successfully update it? How?
Thanks in advance.

[Q] HTC Desire Apk Help - Parsing Error

Hi there.
I have a problem with my HTC Desire. I have downloaded an .apk file for it and also the Astro File Manager to install it. I installed astro file manager and went to the apk location. I clicked install but there is a problem. Every time I try to click install it comes up with the following message:
Parse Error
There is a problem parsing the package.
At first I thought the file is corrupt. I downloaded several other apks (same file) but nothing seemed to bypass the error. Please can anyone tell me what is wrong with it. I tried searching on google but nothing relevant came up with the search.
I have attached the file (apk) to this thread.
Thank you!

Hi There.
Thanks for replying, I have one problem, you were right, it doesn't work because it is version 2.3 and up and I have 2.2.2. But there is another problem, Minecraft doesn't work either and it is 2.1 and up. I really don't understand. Here are my phone specs:
Software Information:
Android Version: 2.2.2
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.15
And also here is the minecraft that doesn't work for me even when it says 2.1 and it is available on Google Play. But I don't want to buy it just because of credit card details and such.
Thanks again

But I don't want to buy it because I'm cheap and like to steal apps instead of supporting the developers who put time, effort and money into creating these apps for me.
Fixed that for you. This is clearly what you meant.

Did I tell anyone to comment about what I said? No I did not. So why do you have to be the only one who is messed up? Hah, you have a rooted phone meaning you can get free items too so why don't you shut up and go play outside kid.. If you dont wanna do that at least do something useful and help people. This is a website for helping not for ignorant people such as yourself, so please find something better to do.
I don't want to give my credit card details and others because they are private and any good hacker can bypass Android's security and enter the website and steal everything...I see that you don't know what happened to Sony last year do you?
Hey junior calm down... Bortak is very helpful but warez? C'mon! A lot of effort been put to development of these apk... as you saying about security on android you did first step how to help hackers you are afraid of... Having root and downloading dodgy apk from untrusted sites... Well done...
Now to the point of your question... your system needs to be updated or you need to download correct version of your apk...
Please delete that paid app from your attachment as it is breaking xda rules:
6. Do not post warez.
If a piece of software requires you to pay to use it, either pay or find your cracks and serials somewhere else. We do not accept warez nor do we permit any member to promote or describe ways in which Warez, cracks, serial codes or other means of avoiding payment, can be obtained.
Don't take it a bad way pls

dont open app in Market if you have installed patched version... you will awlays get update notifications and you cant update patched app via Marketplace
to rid update notification, uninstall and deploy app again
or
use XAPDeployX and make update with xap file...
so what exactly should I do, I dont have deployed apps right now but let's say this
I unlocked my phone (register) with the SDK (dev account) and I deploy let's say Cut the Rope using SDK, even I do not open the marketplace after several hours it shows that there is a new update
dont use SDK.. use XAPDeployX....

Did you download XAP directly from windowsphone.com? In this case the updates should work fine. Cracked Apps however won't be able to update. If you want to hide the updates, I think you should be able to change the GUID of the App I've never tried this, though.
How to download the XAP's full version directly from windowsphone.com

It's just next bloatware application. Do not download it and install. If you want the newest drivers download SUS(Sony Update Service). This is official program which contain the latest drivers.
BTW, this download meter is fake. Don't look at this.

How to get most up to date Rom on my Phone?

Hello,
Got an HTC one M9 today. Since it has the stock rom on it, I wanted to go directly to the current version and flash all the old data out (if thats possible). So I visited the HTC-Support ROM download page which's link I cant post because I'm a too new user to this board.
There, I downloaded this (Under the "Unlocked/Developer" category): "HTC One M9 4.23.617.1".
When I start this, it recognizes my phone right and has a button "Update" for me, where I'm already wondering why is that. I want to flash my Phone with the current version, why should I bother updating anything? If you can point me where I could rather get the tools and instructions to do that (flashing with current version), I would be grateful.
However I tried Updating, and after a quick reboot the Updateprogram tells me "Error 132: Signature-Error".
It says I should get the right Update-Utility and try again. How is that not the right one?
Please help.
Greetings,
Ravior

Check out the readme thread, specifically the section on RUUs.
As for doing OTA updates versus RUU, the advantage of OTA updates is that your phone settings and data are preserved. RUU installs wipe and reset your phone to factory default.

Thank you for pointing me there. After going through much of the information stated there (In the readme thread) I was able to combine the things that happened and why they did so.
In my case, I was trying to use a RUU for 4.x versions on a phone with 3.x installed, which simply isnt supported.
So this means I have to update all the way to 4.x to install the most up to date ruu and then I can flash the device on that version.
I hope they have good reason for not letting us simply flash the current version, since its very troublesome to update all the way through but well...
Thank you!

Please tell me about the security aspects of the mechanic that forces you to update step by step rather than installing full images of the current version. Just look at computer operating systems. Do you always install f.e. Windows XP and then upgrade through vista and windows 7 to windows 10?

Well, since you didn't install anything but bought the phone with a pre-installed OS that metaphora doesn't suit at all. Compare it with a computer that you buy and that has windows 8 pre-installed. Are you able to directly install the latest windows 10 version with all current KB-updates installed? No, you aren't. You need to install windows 10 and then to install all missing KBs via the windows update function.
Since you seem to like them, here's another metaphora: Do you keep your flat's/house's lock and keys if you know that thiefs own a copy of the key? No, you probably change the lock and the key. That's what HTC did with the encryption keys.
And no one said that you need to flash every OTA up to the latest firmware of your SKU. Depending on your current firmware, you might be able to directly install the needed 4.x OTA and then you can flash a 4.x RUU (which might not even be needed since not every SKU received more than one 4.x firmware iteration, yet). And even if you aren't on the latest 3.x firmware for your SKU you only need to flash one RUU more (the one for the latest 3.x firmware of your SKU). All in all the whole flashing/installing won't take longer than one hour. A RUU gets flashed within less than 5 minutes. And the longest OTA installation that I faced with the M9 took half an hour and that was the update from Android L to Android M.
You see, there is absolutely no reason to get het up that much. So please, calm down a little. XDA isn't the place for public rants. That's what you can use facebook, twitter, G+ or reddit for.

Sorry, but I dont think that smartphones are that different from pcs. I think being forced to install as many tools and getting to know all the matter shouldnt be that much; it could be much easier. I think most of the stuff is just that complicated because this way its better to make money than having it in a simple and easy way, like one ROM for every country in the world. For example, I can easily create my custom windows 7 installation media with any updates and additions I would like and install it on every pc in the world thats not too old.

And now I would like to ask you me how you type such long texts on your smartphone
Android/Linux is not Windows. If you believe it or not, you can't compare a PC with a smartphone.
And there are custom made firmware packs for this phone, as well.
In addition, HTC won't read what you're writing here so complaining about their decisions on xda is completely useless. If you still think that it's necessary then do so on one of the websites I mentioned in my last post.

Does anyone know for sure why the Creators Update and the Fall Creators Update run so badly on devices????? I'm stuck on the f****g 14393.1066 AU build. I do not dare trying again to put those on my Lumia 550 since it won't work! I tried several times. I don't want to mimic an other device through Interop since it's annoying . Other ways???? I would like to keep the AU on my Lumia since it works very well...thanks in advance...
Because Microsoft sopped paying attention.

I think there may be no other way than playing with DeviceTargetingInfo registrys.
I have an idea [I don't know whether it works and never tried nor it may be a good idea, try at your own risk] - Deleting the This PC\Windows phone\Phone\Data\PROGRAMDATA\SOFTWAREDISTRIBUTION\ Download folder so that updates don't even get downloaded on device. Also you may not even get cumulative updates or will be able to install language packs as they go through Windows Update path.
Or you may manually delete the files inside that download folder.
