[Q] circle signal icons? - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I use to have a flashable zip that flashed really nice looking circle icons for battery and signal and even wifi.
Since losing them and moving to a different rom cm6 nightlys
I can only find the super circle battery mod.
But i cannot find the signal ones.
I dont want to flash a whole theme because they all look horrible. I would just like the battery and signal circle icons.
Anyone know if this is still being worked on, or was this done once and forgotten?
I have tried searching but just come up with the super circle battery mod.

this is what you found right? not sure about the signal icons, i skipped over those pages on the Kitchen website.

for a some xda thread info on the above link ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=764521

yea found these, im using the battery. looks fabulous.
But still no circle icons for wifi and signal.
all in all it just looked really clean.
I think i have the old flashable file but it only worked with cm6 and not the nightlys.
Thanks for your help tho

[Q] i want 4 signal bars like the htc incredible for my evo

I have searched everywhere trying to find a way to change the signal bars. I want either the four bars like the dinc or the five bars that show up before they chnge to six. I tried metamorph but it wasn't working right for me. i just really hate the six bar look. I'm currently on mikfroyo 4.3 and really like everything about the rom and only want to change the signal bars everything else is perfect.
Try CM7? I am running it and I have a 4 bar signal icon...

You'll have to edit some PNGs in your framework. Although its not really 4 bars, it will just appear that way.
You can find the zip of your rom that you flashed, mikfroyo. Open it with WinRAR, or something similiar. Look in /system/framework/ for com.htc.resources.apk. Extract that to somewhere you will remember. Then open up that framework file with the same program you used above and look for drawable-hdpi. Look for the cmda radio signal pngs and swap in the ones you want. If you want to only use 4, then you can use the same signal for a few. Then put that drawable-hdpi folder back in the /system/framework directory from your ..resources.apk. This will overwrite the old one. Then push it with ADB. If you're not familiar there are a bunch of guides on xda here.
I have seen a couple themes (one of which I made a while back) for sense using the gingerbread status bar icons and those themes usually do the edit mentioned above to make it appear as 4 bars even though it is reporting more. I can easily whip this up for you if you need help, I just need to know exactly which ROM you are using.
Thanks for the replies. I have tried cm7 and I just can't get used to the stock android look. I just really like sense and the mikfroyo roms.
I am on mikfoyo v4.30. It would be awesome if you could help me out with that. I want to learn how to do the editing but I need to find a way to do it with my macbook.
How many does it have now and what color are they?
it has six bars and they are green
Im not running that ROM so I cant test the colors or look of it compared to the rest of the ROM but here is my best shot at it. Just flash that zip from the recovery screen and always make a nandroid backup first.

Man I really appreciate that brandnek that looks a 100% better than the 6 bars. It looks great it's exactly what i was wanting

Battery % in Status Bar?

Anybody know how to do this in Sense 2.1 (running RMK Gingersense right now)? Not looking for anything super special just a simple percentage would be nice, esp if someone has cooked up a simple patch for it.

is it me or is that site down? I been trying to connect all day and it goes to loading page error
It's been up and down. I managed to get through yesterday.
I just want a 6 signal bar mod and BIOS boot screen! D: lol
yeah I went to try UOT before I posted but it's been down for me yesterday and today the times I've tried That's why I was wondering if someone had cooked up one.
I might just try to learn to do it the old school way and rip out the apks
I would like the same thing, no one has themed it yet?
I've been using the "circular battery indicator", it shows %s in the status bar; You can find the .apk for it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8639993
No root required, put it in the root of your SD card and install it through Astro or another file manager.
I'm also looking for this mod on RMK's GingerSense. I'd like the stock battery with % though. Hopefully an apk will be made available.

i tried the circle battery mod and it broke my soft key lights and took away my transparent notification bar. did you have no side effects?
I did, I didn't notice right away, but ny soft lights are intermittent, still looking for a fix, I will post my findings

ChrisDDD posted a mod for gingersense in the dev section. Adds % and removes gps crosshairs from status bar
Sent from my rooted GB ADR6350
I switched to this one after tnez mentioned it, had to reinstall the transparent notifications window, but is working without my soft keys being intermittent, good looking out
found it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1206358
Thanks to ChrisDDD for creating this battery status, really looks good.

Signal Strengh Mod

hi. where can i find a mod for a different signal strengh icon. the stock one looks really lame. thanks.
btw, i downloaded the widgetsoid free from the market and it works great. also a batt. and alarm mod from elsewhere in this forum and they also work great. i'm sure there are many more little mods floating around, but where? not everyone wants to flash a different rom, just to get new looking battery/signal/clock/etc. icons.

[Q] Replacing singal bars with dBm

I am running the anthem 3.3 Rom and really like it. I was wanting to swap the signal bars in the the status bar for a dBm reading like in cyanogen. Does anyone have a zip I can flash for this or know a way to mod this? I don't want some half ass app cluttering up my status bar by just placing it off to the left. I have searched what seems like the world to try to find an answer but keep coming up short. Thanks in advanced for the help.
Thanks Jason
I've never used it before but I know the UOT Kitchen is reliable. You can customize a lot of items through them:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990829
I tried kitchen and its great, but the one thing you can't change is the signal to dBm.
Id imagine it would take some major recoding of a couple different system files to make this work nativley.

[Q] pulling a battery icon from one rom and using on another rom

im sure im overlooking something here, im trying to pull the circle battery icon from liquidsmooth rc9, and use it in jb sourcery 3.1lte. i cannot for the life of me find it in the original SystemUI or framework-res in liquidsmooth. i decompiled them and im digging around and was able to find all the battery icons EXCEPT the circle one. if anyone knows the one im talking about that would be awesome. its the cyan color scheme with a real smooth circular rotation when its charging. when it isnt charging it doesnt have any dashes or dots, just a solid circle and i think there was a battery percentage in the middle.
That sounds like it is the CM circle battery, which is actually done via code and not just simply images.
