New to the Android world

Hey guys i switched from a crApple iphone to the fabulous evo 4g and let me tell you i dont regret it at all. I got my evo the same day it came out, couple of days later i found out about xda developers, got it rooted and since then its been like a rollercoaster, my evo became more than just a smartphone to me.
Anyways, lets cut the chase what im tryin to say is that there should be a nice guide for people like me that had no idea what rooting means and of course all the terms within like adb shell, nandroid, nand unlock, recovery, etc. If someone out there has the time it'll be really helpful. I know google is out there but i think it would be really nice to have all this information compiled in one place and what other place better than xda.

im just kidding.. well, you certainly came to the right place.. really just reading around the forums is the best knowledge your gonna get.. what information are you wanting to know about in particular? i knew nothing about android till the day i received my evo, well speaking modification wise! my wife had a hero which i enjoyed but didnt want to get deep into it since i was using a windows mobile device at the time.. but its always good to hear of an iphone user switching over to android!

Lol! At this point i dont really need that much help compared to when i made the switch, because its like you said, you go from forum to forum, Im just makin a sugestion to make it easier to newcomers.

in my opinion xda-developers is the best place to go for information because there is a mad number of members.. keep in mind if you ask a stupid question your gonna get an even stupider response.. you seem to know how the game is played so you shouldnt have a problem.. ppl dont like to spoon feed you here, but if you show that you need a little help here and there you shouldnt have a problem..

You can get apps for free without a jailbreak. And it's not called a jailbreak(that's just iPhones), it's called a root. I can help you get free apps, it's pretty simple if you want to learn.

Pay for them looser! You wouldnt want someone to come to our house and take all your stuff that you worked hard for. Enjoy being flamed just cuz you want to save 99¢ on a fart app or whatever

Jailbreak? Last time I checked this was an EVO forum... if you want to jailbreak something I recommend purchasing an iPhone. I hear if you put a case on them they can actually make calls too!

As others have said, the devs work work hard on their apps, so if you find one you like, pay for it. You may not be aware, but XDA isn't just a smartphone forum (like androidcentral, or ppcgeeks), its a developers forum, where app developers actually post to support their apps, and work with the community to work out beta versions, and resolve issues.

can someone porte an ios app to android?

Hi I'm looking for there app on android http://www.tradlessons.com/Accordion.html but the guy say he is not an Android dev he work only with ios because he say he make more money there but We all know that apple sucks and that's why I don't Wat to buy an iPad only to play that app so if someone can port It to android or even make and app like a gabbanelly accordion will be great and I bet It's going to sell really fast because lot of people I know is looking for it on the android market hope see that soon

I think you meant to post this in Q&A, as it is a question. You should PM a mod to move it for you.

well if someone to port this it would be illegal with the developer unless you payed for it first, and please someone correct me If I am wrong but this isnt the section to be posting this in...

Porting would require the devs permission so best bet would be to hope someone can clone it from.scratch but I doubt anyone will I'm.pretty sure there are accordian apps already on the market just search for it or try a lil google-fu and see if there is a port or similar app that's not on.the market

well i being searching for these app on market but seims that it is only on apple there is one on market but it's a piano acordion and i'm looking for the diatonic acordion

Um...... 2 things.
1. you could ask nicely "if" work is being done to gain root to these two firmwares
2. its quite possible that devs are working on it but have yet to find a way to gain root access........
And the moral of this write up.......... politeness goes a long way..... asking like an a$$hole gets the opportunity doors slammed in your face.... seriously if you are not happy about "WHY THE HELL HAS NO ONE GOT OFF THEIR LAZY A***'S AND TRIED TO FIND A METHOD, then how about YOU find out how to do these things so YOU can do it your self.

The real answhere is: NO ONE CARES A FU*K ABOUT LOCKED BOOTLOADER. Just unlock. Than you flash Doomkernel and you have root. Always on newest Firmware.
Locked Bootloader sucks in many ways.

Your age is not an excuse. Stop hiding from your dumbass mistakes. I had more sense and was more polite than you when I was 12. You used a similar defence when accusing me of copying your status bar. Stupidity is not limited to age and ill mannered logic definitely is NOT. There's also a roundabout method of rooting the .62 firmware(.69 is german only according to xperia blog) which if you cared to research would've found.

Help please in installing street fighter 4 hd on note 2

*Can anybody please help me in installing street fighter 4 I have galaxy note 2 international version with 4.1.2 nd perseus kernel. I have tried everything to install street fighter 4 I have downloaded the apk both 1.0.0 and 1.0.2 and then I downloaded the data which have 4514 files I have titanium backup files and I searched on net and installed it but whenever I tried to play it it got struck on now loading screen and then it dint run and get off .Can anybody temme what should I do step by step I have read many method of installing on net so I am very confused which method I have to use hoping that somebody help me. I have rooted the phone and having stock rom.

How about you buy it ?
Xda is about free roms, themes, mods and apps that the developers choose to share with the community.
What it sounds like you are doing is called piracy/stealing which is illegal and not welcomed on xda forums.
So if thats the case go elsewhere and dont ask here.

Thanks for your intelligent advice but can you send me the link from where I can buy this game in India if you do that I'll buy it for sure OK now send me the links I am not intelligent like you but I did some research and then posted it here its not available on Indian play store anyways you just send me the links and I mean working links from Indian play store I'll buy it dOnT worry
