Hi All,
I done a search but couldnt find an answer for my prob... whenever I start the music player and then after a min or so the lock screen comes on, after that the music stops playing... If I set my phone to keep the screen on, the music keeps playing just fine, but that eats the battery life. How do I fix this, so that I can lock my phone and still listen to music?
Thanks
Are you rooted, or running the stock music player? I remember seeing an option to keep music playing in background while locked or something like that, but cannot remember if it was the stock player or one on one of the rooted roms... But I know I've used the stock ROM listening to music while working out and it would not pause when the screen locked...
Does this happen when you manually lock the phone, or when it hits the auto-lock timer?
Im rooted..
I've rooted my phone and using SlidemeRoot2... happens when autolock comes on... i couldnt see any options int he music player to stop this from happening..!
What happens if you start the music and manually lock it?

same thing happens...!
I am at a loss. I am using TeamFeniz rom and the music player it has doesn't have the setting I mentioned, so it was either a setting on the stock music player, or a setting using the CM6 rom's music player... hopefully someone else can chime in. Have you posted this in the SMR2 rom thread?

The stock rom doesn't have that setting. It is set not to stop while the screen is off by default.

Well then it is in the Music player that is used by one of the other roms I've used, but god knows which... CM6, SlideMeRoot, SlideM, Cheifzreloaded's roms etc...

Ive been messing around with my brothers EVO and have noticed that when playing audio in the default music player or even music players from the market they will not resume from where they are left off after being paused. They start from the beginning.
Has anyone else encountered this, or any ideas?
I've noticed this as well, but it happens with the Sense music widget, not the actual music player. There is a difference.
For example, if you downloaded an audio track from a website, and once the DL completes you tap on the notification bar, it opens the music widget instead of the full app.
Hope this helps. I don't experience this issue when using the music app.
EVO 2.2 w/3.29
Yup, thats it, hmmm what a mild inconvenience
Problem is with 3.29. I also noticed some stuttering in certain music apps.
Since i listen to a bunch of podcasts and because of some other problems i noticed, I've gone back to 3.26-with netarchy's kernels it works just as well (if not better).

I don't think it's a 3.29 issue. I've tried different roms.
Currently I'm using refined 1.04 and the music player resumes just as it should. I tried Azrael X and the music player will start from the beginning instead of resuming where it was paused.
I assume the music player needs to sore it's bookmark somewhere. Anyone have an idea where that might be? And, what's different between these 2 roms that accounts for the difference in unpausing?
Im using SPRINT LOVERS ROM (latest build) and I notice that when MEDIAPLAYBACKSERVICE is running, the sense audio player will start to play on its own. For instance, I will go into visual voicemail and play a mail.. I will hear hear the mail BUT then the sense audio player starts up. If I go into services and stop MEDIAPLAYBACKSERVICE, everything seems OK until that service starts again.
What is causing this and how do I resolve? Thanks ...
Never have seen/heard of this before, and I also run the sprint lovers ROM.

This is the latest ROM just posted in the last few days.. it also had the PROXY streaming BREAK issue which I resolved.. BUT now this random audio issue is driving me crazy ... MEDIAPLAYBACKSERVICE is the issue and when that is running the sense widget audio player starts at random. I can be listening to a voicemail in the voicemail app and press STOP in the voicemail app and the player will start and show a notification that it is playing...
any ideas?? I think if you can disable the MEDIAPLAYBACKSERVICE this wont be an issue UNLESS there is a fix...
Did you try re-flashing the rom?

yes 2 times... same issue.. I just tried clearing data from the HTC music player app so we will see...
You can try that, or find the apk, and re-install it. Or install another music player.
WHat do you recommend as a good audio player that doesnt use a lot of resources??
Check your inbox.
Still have this issue. I go listen to visual voivemail. I stop the voicemail and htc player starts playing the ringers on my sd card. I start the voicemail playing and it stops. Any ideas? the htc auto player needed to play ringtones? How would I go about assigning a different player?

OH MY GOODNESS SOME TECHNO I HAD ON THE NIGHT BEFORE IS AUTO BLASTING OVER BLUETOOTH
Yeah, that's the "feature" of having bluetooth media autoplay. Besides turning off all bluetooth media features is there a way to prevent Winamp or whatever other stock media player is on the phone from blasting away as soon as it connects?
(Rooted, Cyanogen 7)
Did you try clearing defaults for the applications in the applications menu?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
No defaults set for Winamp or any other music application that I can find.
It's just when the Bluetooth connects it starts to play. Mine does it with Cyanogen, wife's phone does it with the stock Sprint Sense rom.
So I guess this is just one of those feature/bugs of Android that has no fix?
My dual BT headset turns on the stock HTC player whilst playing threw Winamp. It does this when I press play after a paused interruption. I'm using misfits speedy Rom and it happens to me. I can't set a default player either. Well i tried.

Has anyone solved this problem. It is rather annoying. I don't want to have to remove all the mp3's from my phone just to stop it from doing this.
I like to use Pandora for my radio, but everytime I turn on my car I have to take the time to tell the music player to knock it off...

I have a rooted S III with JB. Lately, after a few songs, Google Music switches from playing out of my headphones to playing out of the speaker. It never does this in the middle of a song, it always happens between songs (listening to song in my headphones, song ends, next song plays out of speakers).
Does anyone else have this problem and/or does anyone know a solution?
I've had this happen also, are you on stock rom or a custom rom with mods?

I'm using the Root66 version of the stock JB rom, I think everything is stock, it's just rooted.
Never had it happen when just stock ROM without any mods. That's weird though. Why not use the stock music player? Its a whole bunch better.

I have an unrooted GS3, and I get the same issue showing up. My other GS3 has a similar issue, in that a song will be playing, and after the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or even 5th song, the whole process seems to stall out, and I have to go to the App manager, and close out the app completely. This is a huge annoyance.
Funning, the two issues revolve around the Google Music player, which I love. I use it on my other phones (GS2, G2X, MT4G), and have no issues. Just my GS3s.
i had this problem as well with the output switching to the speakers every other song when my headphones were plugged in while using google play. i am on an unrooted GS3. it only started happening on monday after i got a device upgrade notice.
i read in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1989081&page=2 (for a diff carrier i know, but it worked) to try going to application manager and uninstalling google play updates. i have not had the speaker problem since. i think there is just a buggy update or something.
hopefully this helps some of you until they can update the update.
Hi!, I had a serious nerve racking problem with Samsung Galaxy W since I flashed it with another official stock ROM in which I got much more languages including the french one. But the problem is that when the earphone is plugged in to listen to my music, it starts switching the soundtrack I am playing to another one that I wasn't playing, it even stops playing :'( . And it's the same **** everytime I want to play my music from the default music player or the one installed like Poweramp. So please help me to fix this!. Even when I wanna listen to my FM radio it shuts down by itself and I could hear some weird beeps from my earphone. The Autostarts apps won't solve at all my problem! :'(
[Q] My phone plays and stops music by itself when the earphone is plugged in, but once removed from it everything works fine! :'(

I am not sure about the default music player, but poweramp has a feature like the one you described. When you plug in the headphone, it resumes playing. (An autostart musicplayer feature). Check the settings under poweramp player and hopefully you will see that option somewhere. I am not using poweramp so I can't tell you where exactly that option would be.
The other issues you desribe, I don't know. It may have something to do with the conflict between poweramp and FM radio... Maybe. I am not sure. See what happens when you disable the option I described above.
The stock rom don't have a FM radio app, so use Spirit FM, search the apk and download it.
And this problem happens with me too, but only sometimes. When I'm using a Bluetooth headset, no problems, but when I use a normal earphone, some lags occur.

Okay thanks for your help but now the problem is solved after disabling the "media button pressed" event's from the pre installed music player and many other apps running on your Android's system. It requires root access to be allowed "Autostarts.apk". Anybody else having the issue could use this app to fix it!
