Just search for i9000. I assume this means that JPM is the final 2.2 release
Finally. Now we can finally get voodoo on 2.2 and cm will come faster.

Does this mean, that JPM is official froyo for i9000?
Does that also mean that the market will work with it?

Yep but not with JPK.
Urgh. Downloaded and flashed JPM. no one was posting about it, so I flashed JP6. Reflashing JPM right now. >_<
And now supercurio will need to bend space and time so he can code 48 hours/day

So how do we flash this in odin?
Does it have all relevant PIT files etc?
Do i have to remove Voodoo first before flashing?
Hopefully Samsung will release JPM for asian region (DXJPM)
Any rumours about that?

Is this newer than JM2? Does it have the in-built task manager? That's the only thing I'm missing in JG5. Thanks

Great
I think I'll try this out.
Would like to have a complete backup just in case though. How does nandroid backup from ClockworkMod work? If I don't like the new firmware, do I flash the JG5 back using Odin, and then go into recovery mode and restore the nandroid backup? Or does the nandroid backup automatically restore the firmware too? Sorry for the off-topic question, but any help is greatly appreciated

You have to have the right base rom before clockwork restore
The I9000JPJG8.rar off http://samsung-firmware.webs.com/samsungi9000.htm only has the files OJP_JG9.tar and SS_DL.dll
What is the SS_DL.dll, and which would be the best phone and csc to use with it?
Hiya guys,
I haven't tested the rom yet, I'm downloading it now, but they've put it up as XXJPD on samfirmware.com
Don't kill me if it turns out to be another JPC
EDIT: Epic fail by samfirmwares, turns out it's JPC :/

Thanks Bro, Though I guessed most of the Arabic Any idea when official Froyo is coming through Kies?
nope no idea, but this is actually the official Samsung 2.2 ROM just hasn't been announced as of yet. I wouldn't be surprised if it is the exact same one that will come through Kies. Anytime "nasgilani". And by the way "dadyal" i'm happy you had time to tell us all you got the update a week ago but its a shame you were too lazy to create a post for others to also benefit a week ago.
There are people that say that JP6 is faster than JPA?
Is it true?

I tried JP6 its a European build and is not faster from my experience. It also does not have Arabic support. I9000JHJP4 and I9000JPJPA are both the Arabic supporting firmware builds however I9000JPJPA is the latest build and was created in October which is the same time the European I9000XWJP6 was created.

after using jpa for 5 days, it sucked for me (random FC, lag with OCLF). gonna move to jp6.
I have used the z4mod Kernel patcher and it runs smooth 98%. The galaxy s finally runs smooth. Just a heads up today Google inc. came out with the YouTube stand alone App in the android market(US) so needs market enabler. Worth downloading for sure

No, i'm sorry unfortunately I don't know how to go about doing that. However why not use JPA with lag fix and then you are fine. This is where to I found out about how to use the LAG fix JPA or any build.

There is a few apps in the market will let you read and write arabic sms. there is even a browser will let browse arabic websites called "Persian Browser". search for keyword "arabic"
I personally use "Mirsal" for arabic sms.
good luck
from chinese forum:mfunz.com
different kernel(smaller than defy's), so can't use on defy currently
defy+ chinese version(ME525+) will annouce tomorrow
So it isnt ME/MB526 as seen before..
maybe ME525+ for chinese version and MB526 for others
someone said MS2's GB firmware also has small & new kernel than froyo's, so different kernel doesn't mean different hardware
If it uses different partition sizes, it won't be compatible with our Defys ever. Dammit Motoogle, you're jerks.
It is using 2.6.32 kernel, like stock Froyo I'm betting again that Motorola will still screw with us and release Defy+ with SOC camera
