Defy+ firmware leaked - Defy General

from chinese forum:mfunz.com
different kernel(smaller than defy's), so can't use on defy currently
defy+ chinese version(ME525+) will annouce tomorrow

So it isnt ME/MB526 as seen before..

maybe ME525+ for chinese version and MB526 for others
someone said MS2's GB firmware also has small & new kernel than froyo's, so different kernel doesn't mean different hardware

If it uses different partition sizes, it won't be compatible with our Defys ever. Dammit Motoogle, you're jerks.

It is using 2.6.32 kernel, like stock Froyo I'm betting again that Motorola will still screw with us and release Defy+ with SOC camera

I'd like to point out for everyone that this ROM is not going to be any different functionally from the previous releases of 1.82.x.x. The last two sections of HTC's version schema represent region/carrier.

Anyone interested in Desire Gingerbread Test Rom?

I think it's a more suitable gingerbread rom with sense for HD2.

we will need the new kernel source code to fix the adreno drivers. the newer libs should not fix the glitçhes.

Yeah kernel is needed for gfx glitches but should soon follow after official release. Plus the base rom itself would be good for porting, especially for our EU HD2's

Yeah but more to the point that this rom is a older leaked rom not a recent test rom.
I am wondering why htc said that it won't release it, while they began developing gb sense since May.

They said they weren't and then they said the reason why they weren't is because of the space needed. So they said they will make a release but they're just going to have to delete a few things.

I cant really see how it could bring any changes per-say apart from fixes for glitches etc but that would be more of the kernel source not the rom afaik.
Then again the desire ports are quite decent, especially the skink version.

Motorola Defy offical 2.3

Does anybody know release date?
Releasing an official 2.3 Defy will erode Defy+ sales. If you are the owner of Motorola, and your stokeholders hold you accountable to make more profit, what would you do?

install this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1285007
it works better than any previous 'official' 2.2!
Because of SOC module Motorola stopped official update to 2.3, it's stupid. How to add language to sbf, is it possible? Some guide or advice, ty
have a look to the motoginger1.1 thread by walter, he is working on a new release 2.0 which may include the language you want. if not he answered a question in his thread somewhere about an app you can install that adds languages i think?
There is way to turn your 2.2 Defy to a 2.3 Defy+....
...and I found it by mistake.
It is really important to know that when you flash a new .sbf file (effectively a new ROM) you CAN ONLY GO FORWARD in Android versions. Why is not important, and there are plenty of guides that explain why, as well as how to do it.
While trying to put CM7 on using the guides, I had to keep going forward, and ended up with a Chinese Defy ROM that didn't work (but unbricked me at the time). The only option was the latest official UK 2.3 Gingerbread ROM (luckily I am in the UK), which I installed. Imagine my astonishment when the model number of my MB525 was now listed in the phone "About" menu as MB526, which is of course the new Defy+.... So it appears I have the Defy+ ROM running on my Defy. I rooted it using Droid 3 Root, and installed Android Overclock and now it runs at 1ghz. Just the battery to install (if it works) and I'll have a Defy+ upgrade package....
Important things to note - it all works so far, but if you follow me you do so on your own responsibility. Also, you can't overclock to higher than 1ghz, because of a locked kernel (look it up, others explain it better).
Good luck!
i'm currently using miui 2.3.5, it works fine, and beatiful, maybe you can try it

What? No they have completely different chipsets. The international version has a 1.2ghz exnyos processor . The t989 has a 1.5ghz snap dragon. That is just for starters. The only real thing they share in common is the name "SGS2"

Hello,
Ok, I can't flash a i9100 ROM in T989, but I question:
Can I extract the language (PT-BR, for example) from i9100 ROM and then "insert" it in the T989 (orT989D) ROM?
I question because I bought a "Galaxy SII X" by Tellus (T989D) in the USA, but it doesn't have my language (Portuguese) and the app "Morelocale2" doesn't work cool.
I would appreciate a solution or sugestion to have my IBS Galaxy X in Portuguese.
Thks.
P.S.: I'm sorry for my English.

Your english is fine a lot better than the people that live in the u.s and its their native language. You will need to root your phone using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1311194 and flash this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1322642
After you load that rom go to settings/ Language and keyboard/ Select languge/ The select portuguese.
That is the only rom that supports your language I know.

I'll try do what you suggest.
Just some little questions:
installing this rom I still be able in the future upgrade to the original ICS ROM? Because I know that it will have all languages... By the way, is it true?
This rom is stable? Does it have some serious bug?
Will I lose some functionality?
If I don't like it, can I go back to the original? How to do? How to backup my Original ROM?
Sorry for a lot of questions by a noob!
Is that the phone isn't mine, I'm just helping a friend

This is a custom rom based off the stock rom you already have with added functionality. No bugs are known if you follow directions as stated by the developer. You will get an ota but it wont flash you will have to update it when the developer gets his hands on ice cream sandwich rom for our variant of the galaxy s2.
