Sprint TP2 ready to flash! Can I get some feedback? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Fellow XDA Rom users,
I got a Sprint TP2 and I'm looking to flash it (and get rid of the ills of slow performance, lagging screen transition and freezing).
I'm hoping to get some direction from a few of the Sprint TP2 users:
Where to go to download the flash apps (how to)
Recommended ROM's based on stability, transition and eye candy!
Even consider Android if its possible.
Thank you

well. best answers would probably come from this thread...
Touch Pro2 CDMA
and for cdma roms i suggest a look at this thread...
[ROMS] Links to all CDMA ROMs, STOCK ROMS, RADIOS
rom choice is truly all in one's own taste.
might try indagroove's grooveROM. though.
didnt appeal to my taste. but it might yours.

thx again

Whats the Best TP2 6.5 Rom In YOUR OPINION?

Hey, Im coming from a CDMA TP1 and Now of course have a Tmobile TP2. Ive been holding off on flashing as Ive been waiting for the Official 6.5 to come out, But the more research I do the less I feel Tmobile will get one anytime soon, Please correct me if Im wrong!
SO Ive decided to take the plunge again and Flash this bad boy, Now coming from a tp1 Ive flashed my fair share and enjoy it very Much, except one thing, bugs, There always seems to be many bugs in Custom roms and fixes are always being made. I want a lite 6.5 rom that has the least amount of bugs, I have plenty cab files to get it how I want but once again I want a rom with the least bugs, great battery and a eyecandy dont matter.
So, Whats the best Tmobile TP2 rom out right now in your opinion??????
To tell you the truth all is great! All is the same, but just look different in visuals, builds, some programs, and features. Each chef has their own style so I would say flash them all and make a decision.
I can't tell you which one is better, but I can tell you the one in my sig is awesome!
Long time i don´t see one of this.
Keep questioning away my friend.

ROMeOS ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=567161
In before LOCK in 3, 2, 1....
i have to say that i have dl many roms here and i love the new EnergyRom "Photon" (23016) with manilla 2.1 as it works better for t-mobile US, very smooth and stable good battery life no freezes, landscape works the only problem is youtube is not working but i dont really use that so its not an issue for me. this is by fay my Favorite ROM right now.
just my 2 cents!!
Dont waste your time
They are all rubbish mate, dont waste your time, wait until HTC release theirs, will happen THIS WEEK!
Are you kidding (whoever said they're rubbish), custom ROM's are 3x (at least) better than Official ROM's!
But to the original poster, you have to find your own that fits you. There is no answer, your question doesn't belong in this section, and it will only spawn battles over which ROM is best.
But you'll find all the WM6.5 ROM's here: http://thewingster.com/wm65tp2.aspx Enjoy!
Disagree
I tend to disagree with most, Including the mods, in that this is a valid question that can be asked. It is not 'rubbish to flash' and 'everyone finding their own by testing' is not good advice in my opinion. Their are two, count them 2, roms that fit the above criterion for a cooked rom. One has 1 TRUE bug... Youtube freezes the phone. Biggie or small depending. The other is the one I currently am running and believe I will stick with because it has NO bugs. Zero, Zilch, Nada! Alot needs to be said for that.
I found the first and was singing its praises when I noticed a new rom posting stating the ideal rom in my opinion. I flashed it just this morning and aftera days heavy use with all the normal trouble shooting I find it to be 100% bug free. YOU WILL FIND BUGS WITH 99% of roms. This is the exception.
The first, my second favorite, was Miris 3.0 rom running manilla 2.1, and windows 6.5.
The second, my favorite, is A.Z.T.O.R. by alphazero. It runs manilla 2.0 and windows 6.5.
any questions feel free to pm me or post here unless it gets closed. If it does, like I said, pm me.
Please keep non-development questions out of the development forums.
I moved the thread to the general thread.
The best ROM?
This has been discussed so many times before.
There is no such "Best ROM"
What´s best for me can´t be best for you.
It´s matter of tastes, what you need on a ROM and what not.
The best way is to test severals till you get your personal "Best"
The best ROM?
Sorry double post...
Nice rom.
Mosess, Dude, thanks for suggesting the rom you did. I agree 100 % this is a very stable and great rom. Im gonna mess with it for a while and see how everything agrees with me. So far so good. thanks again.
I agree with Orb! There is no such thing as best cooked ROM. Its just matter of personal preference when it comes to flashing ROM's.
If you are really looking for a stable ROM, then stick with stock ROM.
Per greedydog:
Stop "Flaming" a member on XDA.
If you happen to not like his/her/it's rom..............switch to a different one.
As for this thread..............everyone is different in likings for a rom, experiment with installing some and making your own decision.

Getting Tilt 2. Little help

I have a iphone 3gs jailbroken. Im getting a Tilt 2 for xmas. I want to know what i can do to get the phone to run as smoothly as possible, meaning is it possible to get ride of all the software that ATT includes in it? what woud be the best rom to put on it and are there walkthroughs to get that done? Also is there a site like appulous for windows mobile like for the iphone?
Welcome to forums
You have made a great choice moving from iphone to Rhodium!
1st I would recommend is to flash a cooked ROM from our great chefs, stock ROM´s are full of crap and slow the entire system.
Here to learn how to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550540
Once you know how, enter to ROM section and select your preferred ROM
Good luck and happy flashing!
And don´t forget to vote!

If you want to remove the AT&T garbage and have your device run at its fastest, you might want to try a custom ROM. If you are interested in flashing a custom ROM, directions on how to do that are here.
As for the best ROM, that's kind of tricky to decide. All the ROMs are very different, and appeal to different people. I personally like EnergyROM (link is in my signature), but other people may prefer different ROMs. I highly suggest flashing many different ROMs until you find one you like the looks of.
As for freeware sites, there are loads of them. I like freewarepocketpc, but 1800pocketpc and XDA-Developers (this site) also have many great freeware apps.
Lastly, since you're new with this device, I recommend reading the stickies (which can be found at the top of each subforum) and taking a look at the XDA-Wiki page concerning the Rhodium, found here. Now that I've said all that, I'd like to welcome you to XDA-Developers!
Keep us posted
@blopez24
hey im curious how you do with the tp2/tilt2
if you could regularly post how its going and what you find. i have a iphone3 JB'd. as well as a tilt2 with a custom rom fusion rom to be exact. i trade them in and out all the time due to not likng one thing or another.
anyway, just curious to see how you end up lioking the phone.
thanks,
P.

[Q] Smoothest/Fastest ROM?

Rather annoyingly, if I try to search this section for "smoothest rom", the site hangs...so I thought I may aswell make a thread about it, since the search feature doesn't fancy playing ball.
Currently on Paranoid Android, and have just realised that yes, it may well be a kick-ass ROM with amazing features, but I'm using none of them. I'm not using pie, nor am I using its hybrid engine. Sooo...I wanted to know which ROM (for Maguro) is the fastest/smoothest. Not the one with the most, or with the best features...just in terms of speed and smoothness?
Oh and also a quick side note...another sudden realisation of mine, my contract runs out just after the Nexus 5 will probably be released (this coming winter)...woop woop,...good timing, eh?
Anyways, I'd be really greatful for any suggestions for which ROM to switch to!
Cheers!
IMO stock or something close to it (buglessbeast, etc). Grab a nice kernel too and you'll have the best speed/stability

Best ROM threads aren't allowed, these threads normally go the wrong way. I suggest you try a few or look at features and see which one would best fit your needs. Thanks for your understanding.

Any help?

Hello, my name is Shahin. I am getting a Sprint SGSIII soon. I would like to know a few things.
First of all, i would like to know how stable aosp/aokp/etc (non touchwhiz) is.
second, What is the most stable OC kernel for 4.2.1 what is the max safe OC
third what roms does it work with
and fourth, any recommendations on roms?
Thanks in advance
also, any other advice? im coming from the E4GT... from boost mobile. also i had a ZTE Warp. thanks again
The first thing you should do is check out THIS thread. As for advice on Roms, that's all subjective. What I mean is that there are a lot of variables. How you use your Rom. What you like ? AOSP, TW, AOKP, CM,.... As for the Kernel question, it depends on what Rom choice you make. How high you can OC depends partially on your device. Not all devices are the same. One thing to keep in mind is that, just because you can Overclock to lets say 2.1gHz . That does not guarantee that your device will be any smoother, faster, or more stable. In fact on some devices it has the exact opposite effect. Keep in mind that what you want is an overall better performing device.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Galaxy S3. It's a really good phone and I'm sure you'll love it.
As far as your questions:
In my opinion, AOSP is pretty stable. There are some things that have been reported, such as hand-off issues between 4G and 3G, but all-in-all it's stable enough for most users.
This is typically a phone-by-phone and user-by-user type of question. It also depends on which Rom you're running. Some kernels don't play well with some Roms. One of the more popular Kernels on here is Ktoonsez's kernel. Just make sure you download the correct one for the Rom you're using (4.1.x vs 4.2.x, AOSP vs. TW, etc). BMS also is relatively widely used. In terms of overclocking, it really depends on your phone. Some phones handle it better than others. Hard to say what your "optimal" oc speed will be. In my opinion, the processor is powerful enough to handle most everything w/o OC-ing, but others like it extra-smooth.
Any Roms in the Sprint Forum will work with your Sprint GS3. Do not flash international Roms or Mods on this phone. They will, without a doubt, brick your phone and you'll get ridiculed by a majority of XDA. If you want to flash a Rom, just look through the original post and the last 5-10 pages of the thread to see if there are any issues with it.
Rom recommendations are kind of tricky. My setup is shown in my Signature, and I really like it. But there are many different tastes out there and you just have to find the Rom that fits yours.
Other Advice:
XDA can be a finicky community at times (myself included). But despite some snarky responses, we're mostly here to help.
It's always best to do a search before posting a question, and we love people who read through and find what they're looking for.
Hitting the thanks button is always good if someone helps you out.
Have fun flashing!

Are you on Cricket?
I'm not horribly familiar with Cricket, but I've been told that once you get the phone working on the Cricket network, that Sprint Roms will also work for it. CNexus is much more familiar with it than I am.
no, i was just wondering... but thanks for the info.
Yes, you can flash ROMs made for the Sprint version if you are on cricket. Should not mess with whatever flashing procedure you took or whatnot.
But of course, always make a backup

SO,I want the latest and greatest custom upgrades

I can't do this techy stuff so I will sub the work out to someone else. As the title says,I want to improve my Epic 4g Touch. Things I have had done are flashing the phone for Pageplus and getting SU/Root Explorer,as well as JB 4.1.2 GB27. Would like to spice it up a notch or two. What could I be doing with this phone to bring it to a new updated custom platform? I hear cyanogen being referred to often but I don't know.If I keep updating the phone it would be almost like getting a new phone each time without having to get one. Thanks
Well...now you should find some Roms that are suited towards the style you are looking for.
There are a lot of awesome developers in our forums. Too many to list....but you are correct in saying that the changing of custom Roms does give the feel of a new device.
Just take the time to make sure you read all the OP of whichever you decide to do.
This particular ROM is my current daily...very stable and very cust.
Good luck and enjoy the forum...its awesome here

I am liking Project X black and blue V2 myself.
Overall not a bad rom, with decent battery life if you load the comodose 3 mod.
I did have to switch out the dialer though. The included one was just not my thing.
Also the older gmail here is very nice to go with it.
This is just a bit too close to a Best ROM type thread. If you wish to improve your device, read, read, read, read again, learn, read some more, and then make a decision based on the information you've gathered.
We do not allow Best ROM threads because everyone has a differing experience and opinion, what works great for me may not for you...
