So does anyone think its possible or willing to cut up there otterbox commutor case a little?

not really it would be a lot of cutting. you would have to cut a hug hole through tough plastic to get it to fit AND it still may not work since i believe you would have to cut where the clasp is that holds it together : \
sadly you have to choose bigger battery or a decent case
It really is a big dissapointment that no one is supporting the extended batteries with cases of any type.... I mean how hard would it be to make a silicone case for the extended battery doors? Ebay silicone cases are under $3 for nice cases. If one of the Hong Kong ebay sellers would offer a silicone case that would fit the extended battery door they would be rich!! Soooo many people want something for these...
Well I have them both on the way so I'm just going to play with it and see how close it is to fitting... Maybe even try and heat up the case and mold it a little. Idk. I'd love to hear from everyone else.

I want to get an extended battery (nothing huge, no 3500 for me, but something in the lower 2000s will be fine) but I don't want to sacrifice being able to use a badass case like Trident cyclops or defender (can't decide which I want).
However, I don't think there's a 2000+ sized battery that'll fit in the stock case, so do any of those companies make cases for phones that have extended batteries?
If not, can anyone tell me the largest battery you can fit inside of a stock back door?
1800 is the biggest that will fit under the stock door....I just got a 3500 and will NEVER go back..awesome!
you can fit the sprint 2600 in the ballistic case with some modifications... there is a thread about it somewhere on here where someone was asking and I posted pictures showing what needed to be done
bump......
no one makes a rugged extended case except sedio man... thats it, your only option other than modding the ballistic case.
^ +1
i did this and its awesome!
I have the Seidio Extended battery and simply took one of my TPU cases and modded the back to be cut open around the extended part. The remaining cover still houses the sides and corners as usual and the extended case protects the camera/flash area. I have dropped it a few times and it has held up just as well.
At $4-5 a case, simple enough to do. I didn't want the added bulk of the Seidio Rugged, and the slim one piece case just simply fails to protect the phone when being dropped.
Some very small [email protected] pics from my webcam.
***Just read elsewhere that a credit card makes the perfect shape to cutout for a perfect tight fit to the Seidio Extended's bumpout.

So I'm going to get the 3500mAh battery from Seidio. But i absolutely HATE their battery cover.
It looks like they just used as little creativity in making it and it was a last minute design that someone threw together.
So i'm curious as to what other cases/covers there are to make up for such a flawed design on Seidio's part.
I prefer to stay away from the rugged design stuff since the phone is already big enough in my pocket.
Id like to know as well. I don't mind the back cover I just need something to protect my phone now that sprint isn't covering cracked screens anymore

I've seen people make a cutout with those cheap TPU cases, so it kind of turns out to be a "bumper" case.
Short of a DIY project, I don't think you have any other choices other than that rugged case.
If you find on though, let me know!
Personally I've only ever seen the official cover made by Seidio for use with the 3500mh battery. And yeah, the phone is ginorous with that sucker on there. Don't think there's any other alternatives though.
What I did was cut a hole in the back of a polymer case and it feels almost the same size as a stock evo with the seidio surface case

Did the same here. Yeah, it looks ghetto, but it's the best choice without springing for the Seidio case.

I said the same thing but I'm debating on getting the rugged extended case on amazon its only 38, so Im just waiting to see if the price drops to like 30 or so then ill buy it
Could we get some photos of these custom cases / case mods?
Are there any known cases that fit with this battery in place?
Scott
Where did you find a battery that big for the X because that is awesome. Getting back to your question I think you might have to custom make one.

Even though this is dated( ), I thought I'd throw this out there for anyone else interested, the Trident Electra will fit an extended battery (and most kits will actually come with an included battery.) I've got one for my droid x2 and while the case is quite thick (about 2x thickness of a normal Dx/dx2) it is a BEAST. I really like the combination of the hard shell interior and silicone exterior, and I've even accidentally tested the durability by leaving my phone on top of my car after getting gas. Phone fell off as I was driving down the street and all it did was scuff the silicone a bit on one corner. Definitely worth the investment IMO, but I would try to get a case on Amazon or equivalent as Trident wants 80 bucks new! You can find it for half that elsewhere!
This is sort of reaching, but I wonder if I could apply heat to the back of a generic TPU case so that it would stretch enough to fit over the phone with the extended battery cover installed . I would leave the battery out when doing this to protect it from the heat .
buy a silicone one and cut the backing out and glue it on the back of the battery holder. Simple
Hey Guys, i hope you can help me out as im struggling to find any case that fulfils my needs.
Im looking for a case which is of course compatible to the 2000mah battery pack; it should be slim and kinda TPU/Silicone like material. The buttons should also be covered, but what's _really_ important to me is that the buttons should be covered with a rubber material so you can still press them easily and have that "clicky feeling", which isn't the case with most cases out there (man, what a sentence )
Any recommendations would be much appreciated

sgp hybrid cases fit well if its a bit more exspensive then what your looking for ebay do some ok fakes that arent quite the same quality but still fit better then most 3rd party silicone cases
you can get genuine ones for approx £20 and fakes for about £6/£8
id say the fakes are much better then the other cheap silicone cases that get baggy and attract a lot of dust and stuff
my mates been using one for about 2 months now and its kept his sgs2 spotless
You may want to try Seidio's Active case for your device. It is a hybrid case - silicone cover that contacts your device (flexible enough for the larger battery) and the hard plastic exoskeleton (additional protection and keeps the "soft" insides in place). There is an holster available for case as well. I have used the case for another device under the same situation.
I recently purchased the Gorilla Gadgets extended battery for my SIII. At the same time, I ordered the snap on case that came with it. The problem is that it doesn't fit snugly around the sides of the device. Have any of you out there using extended batteries come across a good case for it? I thought I would ask here and hopefully save some money on other ill fitting cases.
Best I have found is Airbus on amazon. Its not perfect but its far better then the hyperion cases or the yesoo cases stay far away from yesoo. The airbus case did require punching out the mic holes with a paper punch as they were to small and blocking access.
Anything that isn't a TPU case?
At this point, I would be happy with anything that fits properly. The case from Gorilla Gadget is close, but not close enough, and I'm anal about my phone!
Seidioonline is the best I have found

Have you considered Seidio's extended cases?
Not sure if Seidio's extended battery is the same dimensions as the GG one though.
I personally ordered the active and one of their batteries, though shipping is taking forever
