Hello everybody,
I just rooted a desire with slcd with one click i put in amonra recovery. Everything went fine. Till i want to go in recovery. I get a black screen but i'm sure there is the recovery. When i do some things with the trackball and i went back en move a couple a times up and press the trackball the foon reboots but then it is stuck and i think it is because of a bad ROM install.
What to do? My uncle will kill me.
How do i get the recovery to see?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
youve rooted it and put on a recovery for pre-slcd device.
theres a fix somewhere deep in here. can you boot into the os and see the screen or is that blank aswell?
also this should be in a different section
I can not boot into the ROM and i just did the unrekoved
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
unrevoked 3.21? or an earlier version?
try booting and leaving it for a bit. if all is well and its just a dead screen then it will be booted, you just cant see as the screen is dead, check device manager in windows and see if it shows adroid device (adb or my htc) in the list
run unrevoked 3.21 again and let it flash clockworkmod and not amonRA
Can u see the device ok adb??
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Moved to Q&A as not development.
Yes the device works in adb. When i run top i can see whats happening.

Isn't there a . Img for the device and run that thru fastboot? Because that is working but what .Img do i have to take?

If you are able to get into bootloader unroot the phone and it will be solved. The best and easy way is via bootloader, just download a stock froyo zip put it into the root of your sd card and go into bootloader, no need of getting into recovery
Getting this error when puting in a PB99IMG
checking: PB99DIAG.zip
no image
checking: PB99DIAG.nbh
no image or wrong image
checking: PB99IMG.zip.
This takes a while and then
Main version is older!
update fail!

you can only run fastboot img for recovery when you have s-off.
please boot normally and leave it for 5 mins to make sure its loaded( you wont be able to tell cos of black screen)
connect device and when connected run unrevoked 3.21 and allow it to flash clockworkmod recovery

Good day XDA,
Woke up today to a phone that was having sim card issues. i restarted the phone and it kept having the same issues. I reseated the sim card and still the same issue. And then it turns from a simple SIM card issue to a whole system issue. I restart the phone and the HTC screen will load and then the phone turns off. I can only load into bootloader and cannot access recovery.
I attempted to flash recovery manually via fastboot but get an error about it not being allowed.
I suspect this is because I do not have an engineering hboot. What should i do next? Any tips?
my hboot currently is as follows.

The rom i was on was CM 7.1
and root method was rage.
Thanks

First off, I don't think the SIM card can cause this problem so that's not really the issue with not being able to boot. You might be able to run 'adb reboot recovery' without the engineering hboot but if not, follow the guide in the wiki to flash the engineering hboot and try pushing recovery again that way.

You mean "fastboot devices", right?
Yea so i figured that its impossible to run adb from bootloader as its pre-android. you can only do fastboot.
I pulled the sdcard out of the phone and it loads the recovery but then it shuts down almost immediatly.
is there any way to somehow go to stock with my current bootloader
so i can begin root process all again.

What you can do is search for the 2.3 Android update (which is not carrier locked) and download it. Then take the battery out of your desire and hold the down volume button and turn it on. Use the volume button to select 'fastboot' and then press there power button to select. After this start the 2.3 update on your computer and then you should be fine.

Of course it fails at radio, you have a new one and you need a newer RUU. Go to HTC dev site, kernel source code part, configure filter to DEVICE (Desire) and choose OTHER below it, click FIND FILES and the first one to download will be RUU upgrade android version 2.3.
Download the upgrade, reboot phone to bootloader and run it.

Hi gifted. I really need your help.
Am to Ivory Coast and I have a HTC Inspire 4G A9192 Android version 2.3.3
I wanted to upgrade to Android 4.2 cm JellyTime_R30.
First I installed ClockworkMode recovery v5.8.1.5
After flach Rom I restarted my phone and it stayed on HTC logo for several minutes (10 to 15 minutes). I removed the battery to recover. When I always turn the same scenario. When I put him in charge, it goes into recovery mode.
Hboot mode:

Please help me
The kicker is, i lost root on my phone... no Recovery.. i can get into HBoot...
My phone is always stuck on reboot loop.. theres a few odd times where it makes it into OS but then reboots again.
So I was going to my old files and noticed that I still have my Nandroid backup, so if i put this back onto my phone, will it be saved?
I cant even get it too root without the phone rebooting..
What root method did you use? What hboot do you have? Are you still s-off? What were you running prior to this happening like rom ect ? Have you tried a RUU yet? This type of information can help people try to figure out how to fix it

Since revolutionary only requires the phone to be in fastboot to s-off it. Plug your phone into your computer install the required drivers and run revolutionary program it should read your device and precede from there by typing your beta key from the website and installing a recovery from the revolutionary program. Then wipe and flash a custom rom

I think you do, I believe most root methods use a combination of adb and fastboot. After you install it, make sure you're running the root method from the same directory as adb.exe and fastboot.exe are in (should be platform-tools).
i have places the adb.exe and fastboot.exe in the same directory as revolutionary but it still waiting for device...

Can you access your sdcard? Because if you can download a recovery and rename it PC36100.ZIP and put it on the root of your sdcard. When you go to your bootloader just go into the menu with the recovery option (Cant remeber atm) and it should come up asking you if you want to update the file. Have you tried flashing a rom? How did you get to this state?
Reflash your current ROM via recovery without wipe. That won't damage your apps and data. If this doesn't help, try to flash it via hboot using PD98IMG.zip. If that doesn't help, too, then it might be a hardware issue, in this case, you'll have to replace the motherboard. Some days ago I tried to reanimate my friend's DHD with such symptoms, but didn't succeed.

You are misguiding him. Sorry, but a RUU won't flash as long as the bootloader is unlocked. So he will have to relock it first. Besides, if he is flashing a custom rom with an unlocked bootloader he will have to flash the boot.img in fastboot as well otherwise he will get stuck in the splash screen again. So, before sending him to replace the motherboard we should know what he was trying to do.

Having an unlocked bootloader isn't the same thing as having a recovery image installed.
You need to download ClockworkMod Recovery (or similar) for the Desire and install it. Try alpharev.nl as the easiest way to do this.

Just download 4EXT updater app. Do a search for it. That will install 4ext recovery for you. Its better than Clockworkmod. Me and a lot of Desire users swear by it.
