Yes there is a way of unrooting your phone rooting the phone will void your warranty but this can be undone if you can unroot your phone. Be warned certain desires cannot be unrooted.

Got my device yesterday and it was too hot.

Finally I got my device which looks awesome in its white color. But it was heating up usually.
Just a small question here, Any way to have the root access on the device with out voiding the warranty. I just don't need custom roms until s-off was released.
No offense please!
Thank you all!

There is currently no way to root it without using the htcdev method that would void some parts of your warranty. Well no sensible way... there is a method to do it but it would give all apps superuser access. Check out this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577671
But that does even need to unlock the bootloader, I think.
More over I read the superboot isn't working on shipping devices.

Root your phone first and then talk about warranty mate..The best thing for you is to wait for an S-OFF exploit if you worried about the warranty.

Nothing.
Your warranty is unaffected regardless of whether or not you root. The only condition under which your warranty is invalid is if your custom software causes a hardware failure (An insane overclock for example).
The idea that HTC can completely invalidate your warranty just for unlocking the bootloader is a myth that many people believe.

Temporary Root for the HTC One X

Hello guys, I was just wondering something...
We have root access through unlocking our bootloaders at htcdev.com , but if we actually do it, we will/can get in serious trouble due to it voiding the warranty. This is not that nice especially with so many faulty HOX's.
To get to the chase, my questions are simple.
Is it possible to get:
a) permanent root without unlocking the bootloader
b) temporary root without unlocking the bootloader
c) is anyone trying to achieve "a)"
d) is anyone trying to achieve "b)"
I remember an app for the Zte Blade (aka San Francisco) for instance, called z4root that would provide either temporary or permanent root access.
We would simply download it from the market, run it and afterwards root access was granted. Can something similar be done to our HOX's?

I think that your warranty only begins to become an issue if you start flashing custom roms/kernels, but I could be wrong.
Will check it then. But doesn't this method need htcdev.com bootloader unlocking procedure?

From my chat with HTC technical support, you unlock it...puff... Software warranty is void and hardware will be analised to check if you damaged it by bad use.
I'm not taking the chance of a technician with a bad day denying me my warranty... A sensor for instance...

[Q] Australian HOX Rooting and Waranty?

Hi all,
I have an Australian HOX and I am thinking it might be time to root and try out some custom ROM loving. Will this void my warranty in Au? Should I wait for S-Off to cover myself if I or the software bork the phone?
Thanks guys!
It should void your warranty as you need to register for the unlock code.
Better to wait for S-off if you are worried about warranty.
That said, this forum contains lots of posts about hardware problems some people have had with their phones. If you have had your phone for a while and given it a decent workout, and don't have those problems, then chances are fairly high you won't need to worry about using the warranty - unless you brick of course

It has a lot of method to get your devices back to normal status and reset your binary count to zero which might also stay at root.
Please refer dr.ketan thread. It is very helpful and useful thread.
In another way it just make sure samsung unable to track your devices being rooted. It not guarantee your devices warranty still valild.
To make sure you devices still have valid warranty, just flash stock rom with odin and follow the guide from dr.ketan thread to reset everything before send to repair or sssc.
With method mentioned you should have worry free about your warranty.
Good luck.
