I originally had these battery icons on the stock fresh evo theme.

I then flashed Burst's PlurStarAlpha Theme whiched changed the battery icon. So i reapplied the icons by decompiling and recompiling the framework-res.apk as i did before on other themes. I replaced the old batt stats PNGs with the new ones then seen that the burst theme came a few extra charging PNGs so i figured ill just delete the extras. Well now when charging and it reaches around 80% or 90% the charging animation on the status bar disappears and there is a empty space. I figured the system is still trying to use the deleted files. What i need to know how or what do i change for the system to no longer try to use the deleted files

why dont you just go here and make your life easier...
Also use the original framework file from the rom not the one you deleted the png's from..... or maybe it will work with the deleted png files missing...hey give it a shot
You have to replace/edit the battery charging xml files as well.

I used the framework from where i deleted the PNGs because it also had a few other mods, it had blacked out notification bar PNGs and custom icons....I thought about just transferring those to the original gray battery framework but i didnt want to accidently forget something.

Yea, I replied in the post before yours, There was a error when recompiling.
It's inside framework/res/drawable.
There are 3 xml files related to the battery icons.
I'm not at home now and my netbook is not within reach but I can give you the names of the xml files that need to be replaced/edited.
As a matter of fact, if you download the source for that battery mod you will be able to find the xml files you need.

What would it take to get just a notification bar, no theme, no app icons... just the notification bar (with the notification icons) . I'm taking a wild guess and I am thinking that I would just swap all the files in a themed ROM to the cooked ROM of the same build and re-sign it? Or is it possible to push and pull, Im also guessing this might be tedious if even possible.
I'd also like to take the time to say THANK YOU to all the Theme Devs who keep pumping their work out. I'm a fairly simple person and dont run to many themes, but I can definitely appreciate all the ART that you guys give to the community.
If need be, and if a kinda soul is willing to do so, contact me if you'd like me to make a "donation" in exchange for your kind services. Thanks in advance.
Tell me which rom you want it done for ,and which notification bar and icons you want. If you can give links that would be great and i can do it when i get off work. What you said about replacing the stuff and signing the rom is all you need to do though but i can do it if you don't want to go through all that

I'll pick one out and let you know. Could you possibly tell me what I would have to do if I "did want to go through all of that". Like what kinda apps or system requirements I would need? I'd really like to LEARN more.
For your information....I put a list of all the PNG's of the status bar itself and the icons that go with the status bar..These files are located in the Framework folder under Res/drawable...Always free to ask question...Hope this helps

F'in awesome Richie!!!
so could I open both .zips and copy and paste after deleting it out of the cooked ROM. Or is there a process that has to be followed? Does each one have to be re-signed? What tools are you guys using(outside of editing)?
Would there be any real benefit, performance wise, if I just did the notification bar and icons over a full blown app.?
I also decided to go with teds theme

All you have to do is replace the png's in the zip.You don't have to unzip it. After it asks you to modify the zip, click YES. Then >>>SIGN<<< the zip.

Let us know how it goes. I tried using that kitchen and it would make the apk fine, but when I'd install it and apply it in theme manager, I would get an error box saying it's missing assetts and button options to apply anyway or bummer. I applied anyway and it works, but that error bugs me.

I tried it, and it sorta works (for now).. I didn't upload anything, I just selected CM7.0.2 ROM, and then let it generate.. I didn't use all the options in the kitchen.. but the battery icon worked (sometimes goes back to the theme's (Honeybread) battery icon for some reason).. the new boot animation worked.. but the status bar icons didn't change, they stayed the same .. and I noticed the systemUI didn't install when I flashed the .zip.. I went to the kitchens thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990829) and a few (i only read two pages so far) said that most worked except for the status bar icons for the Honeybread theme.. I gotta read more, but the creator(s) of the kitchen was looking in to it.
I didn't fully understand how u can make it into a theme.. can u give me some steps on how to do that? thx.
Basically what this kitchen does is replaces the original CM7's framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk, there is also a option in the upload tab to upload a theme that you want to change. I haven't really used the kitchen for CM7, as I'm a MIUI user (easier to theme). But when I used CM6 and Sense Roms, everything worked fine. My guess is that you should try uploading the files YOU have along with your theme apk where it asks you to, and not use preuploaded ones. Seeing how you're using a theme apk for your phone, and when you chose CM7 preuploaded, it doesn't include the theme you're using.

I haven't tested for myself. So....well no promises
GO HERE and make the images you want...you have to upload the framework apk from srf...it will add the images you want. Now if you want to make it fool proof, open both frmaeworks in 7zip without exracting....carry the 1-100 and one more (cant remember the name) .png's into the srf framework folder and exit (prompts u to save, click yes) and then flash srf 1.2 and u will have a rom with new % mod...you can also add images (except .9.png) from other themes and make your own lol

your welcome! But just a heads up, i never use the framework.apk from that site. I just open in 7zip and take the images out and throw into the rom or theme framework just in case the site changed something lol
I decided that the current icons in ROMs showing battery percentage were way too blurry as they are the qHD versions. I decided to use the Sense 4.0 stock icons to generate a new set. Here they are, these are just the icons and they should be pushed to /system/app/SystemUI.apk/res/drawable-xhdpi/

Oh they are amazing! I think all of the roms must use these icons. Thanks
thanks very much!
Due to the tedious process of pushing one by one, I've made a .bat to do it for you.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/73556022/battery_install.zip
Unzip the icons, put the .bat into the folder where you've got the icons located and run!
Sorry to be such a noob but can i replace these on my stock rooted 1.28 and, if so, can somebody explain to me the easiest way of doing it.
I don't see why not, It appears to have worked for me. Easiest way to do it is download the icons, unzip them, get the .bat I made and put that in the same folder as the icons, then run the .bat.
EDIT: After pushing them to the phone, it appears they haven't loaded. After pushing, I rebooted but I see no change to the battery status icon.
EDIT 2: Tried pushing just with the .zip, still no change to the stock battery icon.

Will this actual work by just replacing the icons?
ie From past experience on other devices, the battery will not display in 1% increments without further adjustments to the apk.

No, in most cases it wont!
Here is the complete working SystemUI.apk. It works only with a rooted rom (1.28.401.9).
Push it to /system/app/ (it is no update.zip!!!), restart the phone.
Do a backup first.

Hmm, have you got also the 100 charging_animation icons, the full and the unknown icon? I'd make a complete working 100% battery mod out of them. Been looking for better quality stock icons since some time. The animation in your systemUI is from circle-battery mod.

You can download a mod with these icons for 1.29 on my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1588789
Here is a copy of my customized status bar.. basically a replacement systemui.apk
Copy to /system/app using root explorer .. change permissions to rw r r
If it reboots first you can change permission after next boot.
Change.
Transparent bar on home screen, black on others.
1% battery mod with multi color clear battery icons (I didnt create any icons got them other places)
Blue signal bars (red for 1 bar, blue for 2 3 and 4) (Still trying to figure out how to change to 5 signal bars).
blue icons for bluetooth, wifi, airplance, etc. etc.
New vibrate and no sound icons.
After reboot you can remove the systemui.odex file as it is no longer needed.
RECOMMEND you make a copy of these files first Sytemui.apk and systemui.odex to your sd card, In this way if the copy fails you can copy them back to system with difficulty between popups of systemui has failed messages.
THIS has only been tested on stock Tmobile MDL firmware..
If there is enought interest i will create a .zip to flash and flash back to normal..

because that is where anything that has to do with the statusbar and pulldown is placed in. the systemui. ie. togles, battery, all that stuff
you shouldnt be getting that message if you followed directions.. you don't install a systemui...you copy to system/app ..its amazing more phones aren't bricked by people that can't read.

Won't cause a brick just a boot loop or probably a force close. But actually updating it like that might work so long as the signatures match.

I'm not sure the signatures would match. becuase there were xml changes to add 1% battery mod i had to decompile and recompile it in apkmanager. Anyway I have never seen a systemui installed that way work. It would put another copy in user apps and leave the one in system just like when you update a system app such as maps (which I always remove the system apps.. not sure why rom builders put those in as whenver you update to newer versions it just wastes space is system).
