What would it take to get just a notification bar, no theme, no app icons... just the notification bar (with the notification icons) . I'm taking a wild guess and I am thinking that I would just swap all the files in a themed ROM to the cooked ROM of the same build and re-sign it? Or is it possible to push and pull, Im also guessing this might be tedious if even possible.
I'd also like to take the time to say THANK YOU to all the Theme Devs who keep pumping their work out. I'm a fairly simple person and dont run to many themes, but I can definitely appreciate all the ART that you guys give to the community.
If need be, and if a kinda soul is willing to do so, contact me if you'd like me to make a "donation" in exchange for your kind services. Thanks in advance.
Tell me which rom you want it done for ,and which notification bar and icons you want. If you can give links that would be great and i can do it when i get off work. What you said about replacing the stuff and signing the rom is all you need to do though but i can do it if you don't want to go through all that

AWESOME!!!
I'll pick one out and let you know. Could you possibly tell me what I would have to do if I "did want to go through all of that". Like what kinda apps or system requirements I would need? I'd really like to LEARN more.
For your information....I put a list of all the PNG's of the status bar itself and the icons that go with the status bar..These files are located in the Framework folder under Res/drawable...Always free to ask question...Hope this helps

F'in awesome Richie!!!
so could I open both .zips and copy and paste after deleting it out of the cooked ROM. Or is there a process that has to be followed? Does each one have to be re-signed? What tools are you guys using(outside of editing)?
Would there be any real benefit, performance wise, if I just did the notification bar and icons over a full blown app.?
I also decided to go with teds theme

All you have to do is replace the png's in the zip.You don't have to unzip it. After it asks you to modify the zip, click YES. Then >>>SIGN<<< the zip.
Thanks guys! Sorry about the n00b move.

That files are in framework, not in dialer.apk
Sent from my Galaxy S powered by VA GREEN
I thought so, you will not know the name of that image?
Thanks
Id also like to know all the files responsible for the theme on the dialer tabs and on the contact tabs.
Look for files starting with "tab...". There's about 8 of them.
And there are files starting with tw_tab...
The files that start with "tab" are used for other applications. Like SuperUser, Speedtest.net, etc.
The "tw_tab" files are for the Contacts and Dialer.
Im using an incomplete theme as of now and I would like to revert some thing back to stock till they are completely themed, apart from the contacts and dialer tabs the mms application seems to be a bit themed ( w/o the use for any new mms.apk ) I want to revert the colors on the bar that says messaging and new message and also revert the colors back from green to white.. basically reverting it back to the stock look.
Thank you very much for the help, at the end thanks to your replies have been unable to locate where those files are not on the framework-res.pak, are in Twframework-res.apk.
could you please tell me what exact files they were.
Cheers
Well i think you can find icons on the tab in this place:
DialerTabActivity->drawable-hdpi
Files are:
form left to right
1 - call_dial_tab_dialer_normal.png
2 - call_dial_tab_call_normal.png
3 - call_dial_tab_favorites_normal.png
4 - dialer_tab_contact_button_normal.png
Last one is different 'cause is a button that opens another panel....
There's also '_focused' version for the first three and '_pressed' for the last.
If you want to change background you have to find in
twframework-res.apk->drawable-hdpi the following files
tw_tab_focused.9.png
tw_tab_focused_ss.9.png
tw_tab_pressed_ss.9.png
tw_tab_selected.9.png
tw_tab_selected_ss.9.png
tw_tab_unselected.9.png
tw_tab_unselected_ss.9.png
To have them trasparent make them to the same color of the background. I made the black so i see only icons.

Hello,
First of all i want to say, that i'm not the idea-maker (lol) of this mod and not the creator of this theme. Behind them are some great people - be sure to see credits below!
Standard note :
I'm not responsible for bricking your device (tho it's not possible if you follow the simple instructions) or other sh%# like not getting princess in super mario.

I've seen some posts asking about removing the damn clock from status bar in gingerbread. I've searched and find out it's possible and kinda simple. So i did it
Below you can see the results, and below them you got instructions and download.
This mod is for deodexed JVH only! Flash it over JVO/JVB/JVK etc, or not deodexed JVH, and you got a bootloop ready.
Tested only on GT-i9000.
Theme is only modded for "no-clock", and few icons:
- WiFi icons / signal icons / battery icons
ZIP's are for CWM3.

Ok, lets go:
1. Backup your files!
FOLDER: system/app
-MediaProvider.apk
-Settings.apk
-SystemUI.apk
FOLDER: system/framework
-android.policy.jar
-framework.jar
-framework-res.apk
2. Be sure to copy both flash files to your storage. The "no-clock" and the original theme! If something goes wrong you can always get back to recovery by using the 3-buttons combo and flash original theme. Please keep that in mind!
3. Go to recovery and choose "install zip from sdcard". Then tap "choose zip from sdcard", and navigate to 'XWJVH_Gingerbread_v6.1-noclockmod.zip'. Flash it.
4. Go back in recovery and reboot device. Voila!
BEWARE! - First boot is long - even 5min. It's normal, don't panic!

Great Gingerbread theme that i used here is by ock - be sure to click "THANKS" in his thread. I'm really sorry that I don't ask him for permission Hope he forgive me
I would not be able to compile all of this is, if it wasn't for Paul627g and his post in Epic 4G farm here on XDA-dev's. Great job finding that mate!
For screenshot credits click on it.
If someone want to see it in other samsungs GB based rom just notify dev's about it, or... do it yourself!
In Paul627g post theres a short but very good tutorial on how to disable status bar clock. From me one tip: to properly decompile "SystemUI.apk" we need "twframework-res.apk". And thats it. Good luck!
This small work is my first step to my own new theme for GB. Hope to see you soon in other thread
Looks interesting, and fun. Trying now!
Love the status bar and theme! Great work!! =D
A theme for making clock-widget usefull ? =p
Why not, I should try it, but just for fun because I like the litle clock in top-right corner ^^

These not, but mod can be easily applied in other roms / miui.
Never used miui before, but don't miui have option for hiding clock in statusbar?
Ofc if you are asking about icons, then yes
The icons, yeah. Is it available in mtz?

Hello guys, here are a few screenshots of a theme I made on UOT Kitchen, and then tweeked manually on Photoshop.
If someone is interested, I'll post it, when I am on my iMac...
EDIT: the file is up!
Enable overscroll glow: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1211912
CHANGES
-tweeked Gingerbread-like notification menu
-green signal icons
-tweeked windows with glow
-some colors changed to orange (progress bars etc.)
-Gingerbread lockscreen-sliders
I also attached the stock Gingerbread-launcher to this post.
USE THIS THEME IS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! Have fun!
Also, the overscroll glowing works if you patch your framework.jar
Personnaly I use the stock Gingerbread launcher instead of the standard Touchwiz one.
Just flash this with CWM (wipe cache, wipe dalvik, mount /system and install zip from sd)
I just tested it on CodeROMv2x-2b, so I guess it will work on XXKPH as well.

Nice that you like the theme. I had hope for more feedback, but well... Is there a way to see how much times the file was downloaded?

Yeah, I had this kind of issue too, but usually the icons change after some time... They usually only work when I have Wi-Fi and Cell-Tower reception... It's probably a bug of UOT Kitchen (parts of the theme are done in UOT, other parts manually)
Hello GUIse
I thought I'd try my dab hand at modifying the AOSP MMS.APK and see what I could do. As you know, I helped create & ported the Black Android Theme to the SGSII so I love the theme and I love Blackifying apps. So, I present to you my Inverted AOSP (Google) MMS.APK which is COMPLETELY Black (Screenshots Below)
I'm going to be inverting alot more apps to give in mine & Pele's theme.
This should work on all ROM's. If it doesn't let me know and I'll be sure to fix it straight away.

very nice, any chance of getting it with the slide notifications on the lockscreen?
Hi NitrozK, the MMS apk looks brilliantly black. Awesome. I renamed it and replaced it with the MMS.apk in the system folder and it worked fine with the Revolution 2.6 ROM and with JKay lockscreen. But the system stays awake all the time with "Google Services" keeping it awake, hogging the battery. And when I replaced it with the original one, the system was sleeping like it should. I don't know where or what the problem is.
I didn't add it as a separate apk but replaced the MMS one, as I didn't want another one. Can you look into this as this looks superb. I've added a screenshot of the wakelock issue.
Thanks a lot.
Hi Nitroz, all working fine on KH3 stock rom, apart from compose icon when pressing menu, is displaying completely the wrong icon.
Hi may I request you to include this mod into your apk please ....
