Hello.
Today I received the final answer from Parrot:
Hello again,
We've already exchanged
We now have the confirmation that the HTC desire has to be deleted for the compatibility list of the 3200.
It used to work with the 2.1 version it's not working anymore on the 2.2 version.
You cannot use the HTC Desire with the 3200 car kit and we're sorry for that and will correct our web site accordingly.
So it seems I will not have success with my Parrot CK3200LS-COLOR car kit, if I use Desire with ROM based on Android 2.2.
So my questions:
1. Could somebody confirm the compatibility of Android 2.1 (Eclair) with 3200LS ?
2. If yes, could you advice some custom ROM based on Android 2.1 for my Desire ?
Many thanks for suggestions.
Eclair custom roms were dead for long. Maybe AOSP is your way
Sent from my HDfied HTC Desire
A very good 2.1 rom is ammeruxh roms... (Amer_Bravox)

Moved to General as not development.
I have stock HTC 2.2 and it works perfectly with the 3200.
Try breaking the facebook links the desire puts in your phonebook if you add a facebook accounts and so on. I had problems until I did that, it worked perfectly afterwards.

I have no facebook links and I disabled Syncro in Parrot's pairing menu. So problem is not in phonebook.

It is impossible to download from there.
I'm going to roll back from leedroid_v2.1a to r3.1 MoDaCo Custom ROM for HTC Desire with Online Kitchen (2.1 / Eclair). Must I reflash radio also? Now my radio is 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2. Is some difference between procedures of reflashing from 2.2 to 2.1 and from 2.2 to 2.2 based ROM's?

Can I get stock Froyo rom on Telus Desire ?
I have already rooted 2.1 that's on it, if that makes a difference.
I have no interest in running a custom rom since the stock (2.2) one has everything I need...
I'm also wondering the same thing actually.
I've been looking into upgrading to this ROM, since it's claimed to be 'stock':
[ROM] Rooted Official HTC Android 2.2 (FroYo) ROM [Market issue fixed]
It won't let me post a link, but its in the Desire Android Development page
I think that's the one I found but it said you have to wipe...
I just want to upgrade and keep my existing data

I answered my own question.
Modaco (where I'm also premium) has more information on the subject... I rooted a week or so ago and modaco has the stock Froyo with radio and already rooted rom.
So I just downloaded that and applied update, I didn't even wipe before since I didn't want to lose my data.
Anyways problem solved.
also just picked up the desire , on rogers and was hoping to upgrade to 2.2, I had the hero before and it was a little more clear cut back then, but Im not sure to wait for official or just root and get stuff started,

Hi All,
I have finally after a couple of years decided to move away from the Apple iPhone and buy an Android handset. As such I bought the Desire HD which I absolutely love however I wanted to debrand it using the latest software.
What I did was use the Goldcard technique to Downgrade my phone. I did this succesfully and debranded my phone, however what I realised was that I am now running a older (debranded) software.
Can anyone please assist me by providing with me some steps so that I can flash my phone again with the latest stock HTC Desire HD rom (debranded - is there a link?) or a very stable new ROM? I wouldnt mind version 2.3 if its available... I'm with Vodafone Australia and this is a Vodafone handset.
I have been told that the Goldcard method isn't the best way to do it? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Please excuse my questions as I am very new and not very good with Linux. I am very technically minded so I can pick things up quickly but I need some guidance as I have no idea about half the stuff people talk about here....
If you want stock Desire HD rom, you can flash back the RUU (2.2 Froyo). If you like 2.3 Gingerbread, you can try Cyanogen Mod 7 custom rom.
But for the most stable & battery efficient , you can try android revolution hd rom, leedroid, core droid rom.
You can view the list of rom (and also step-by-step to flash it) at the development thread located here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=765

Hi, Thanks for the reply.
I used this guide to downgrade my Desire HD. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003 - This debranded my phone which is what I wanted however I also realise it is not the latest build. Is this what you are you referring too when you say RUU 2.2 Froyo Rom?
If not, do you have a link to the one you are referring too?
That page you just linked to was for people who had the 1.72blahblah firmware, but wanted to downgrade to 1.32blahblah in order to root their phones.
The official firmware can be found on this page:
http://www.shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Ace
...and the latest available firmware is this:
RUU_Ace_HTC_WWE_1.72.405.3_R_Radio_12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17_M2_release_161342_signed.exe
thanks for that, now how do I flash this? I assume the same way I did it before?
With the stock RUU exes, you don't put them on your phone and flash via Clockwork (or whatever) like you do with custom ROMs. You run the exe from your PC with the phone connected via USB and HTC Sync.
There is a comprehensive guide somewhere on this site.
Hi Forum,
I've been trying several Desire HD/Z ports from my 'old' desire and have decided to return to Starburst's ROM as I find it stable and fast... The one thing I miss from Gingerbread is the Mail.apk app.
I've tried extracting the APK from a Desire HD rom and installing it on my desire. Whenever I try to run the app (which shows up as 'HTC Mail' in the tray) I get an F.C.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get the 2.3 Mail.apk running on 2.2? I'm running the Rosie launcher.
Thanks in advance.
Actually as far as i know the mail.apk is from the sense interface and not gingerbread related.. I dont think HD/Z have GB upgrade yet.. So, maybe the mail app is connected to another process/app from the newer sense in those two phones, thus making it un-operational on the older sense we have on our desires..
First, a correction - Desire HD software is not 2.3, but 2.2.1 for Desire HD (same generation as 2.2.1 for plain Desire, not Gingerbread).
Second, I don't think it's possible to port it the apk, as it depends on libraries, framework, modules etc - basically, you'd need to port a lot of files, ending up with a full Sense port from Desire HD to plain Desire.
In the words of Jack Bauer: Damn It!
Thanks for the replies. Going to stick with FroYo until GB comes out or until I upgrade in a few months...
Unbranded/Unlocked/Stock/Rooted HTC Desire GSM with Froyo
That's all really.
I don't want to move away from HTC Sense (even though I hear Cyanogenmod is very good) but would like the latest version of HTC Sense and Gingerbread. A few questions please:
1. Where can I find the Desire S GSM ROM for the Desire GSM? With installation instructions. I've already rooted.
2. I take it this is the best HTC Sense ROM to install? HTC Sense 3 (HTC Sensation) looks to be in it's infancy.
3. Will this ROM allow me to remove some of the preinstalled bloatware so I can install more apps?
Reasons for wanting to upgrade:
1. Increase storage, so I can install more apps. I'm always running out of storage.
2. Increase battery life.
3. Latest HTC Sense + Android.
Thanks
I should add:
1. I've tried searching but it drew a blank. All I could find was stock Desire S ROMs. I don't have a Desire S, so am guessing these won't work on my Desire.
2. I've never installed an Android ROM before, please bare that in mind when replying but have rooted my HTC Desire without trouble and also years ago installed TomTom on a cheap Chinese (Windows CE) satnav, again without much trouble.
Thanks.
p.s. - Apologises for posting this in two forums, it's not exactly clear which is the correct forum. Please delete whichever thread is in the wrong place.
Is this what you're looking for? Sense on Gingerbread based on Ace S (Is that Desire S??) Anyway , it is Gingerbread and Sense , as long as it works it should be fine whatever it is based on right?

All custom Roms are found in here if you wanna take a look.

Thanks 71baker. Yes that's basically it but I understand the Desire HD roms are safer.
Any idea where I can find a Desire HD (with Gingerbread) rom which works with the Desire and has installation instructions?
Try this one m8 i think you will find its what you are after.

there are some bugs in these roms at the present as they are early versions.

Thanks. That looks like just what I'm after. I'm not bothered about losing the video camera. It's absolutely rubbish.
720p is totally pointless when the lag is so bad, with even the slightest movement. My ancient VGA digital camera produces better videos (much lower res but perfectly fine motion).

There isn't a decent Desire S ROM available, better looking at a Desire HD one (or my normal Desire 2.3.3 ROM )
Well you are right when thinking you can't use the desire s roms, as they need to be fitted to the hardware.
And if you want more space, i will suggest you stay on stock desire rom, as desire s roms fills quite a bit more. You should start looking at some a2sd scripts instead(those are also used to make desire s rom fit into desire).
If you want the new sense and gingerbread, we have a forum just for roms(development) in there you will find 1 thread for every rom. The one you will be searching for is "rcmix s" and yes as eddyos states try to go with desire hd instead.

Thanks for this Eddy. Can you point me to the link or what to search for?
It looks like you're running an HTC Desire HD ROM with Gingerbread. I'm pretty sure the Desire HD officially still runs Froyo. Cool.

Got it thanks. It sounds like I want the Desire HD ROM instead. Does that have the same version of HTC Sense as the Desire S? I thought it was newer again, no?
I'm not running a DHD ROM - I'm using an original Desire 2.3.3 ROM
Look for SuperDuperAwesomeROM in ROM Development if you wanna look

Funnily enough I've just been looking at that thread. If I was to flash a new ROM, I'd definitely want the newer HTC Sense and Gingerbread. Any idea where I can find the ROM for this (I'm guessing Desire HD)?
