Not sure if the hardware is capable of transmitting (as opposed to receiving) FM signals...anyone know?
I was thinking an app could be developed to transmit music over car radio via FM.

Hey everyone! So is there a way to broadcast your music to the radio on a certain frequency? The galaxy has an fm radio so is it possible to broadcast the music as well?

I wouldn't think so as an fm transmitter is not mentioned anywhere on the specs sheet.
all we have on our galaxy is an fm receiver, unlike, for example, the n86, which has a transceiver and can transmit music to a radio. (though the range is pretty short)

Try Tune-in radio from the market. You can stream most FM stations, hd stations and satellite stations.
Do you BONSAI?
At this time, there is no working "app" for the FM Radio, mainly because the internal FM Radio chip has not been able to be turned on via the android software
As recommended above, Tune-In Radio is the current work around, but it is streaming
Netflix works on the 2.3 Gingerbread leaks without any additional modification necessary, but has not been modded to work on 2.2, seems to be a security/library issue, not something with the apk itself
Ok thanks guys yeah I'm currently using tune in radio. But thanks for the info.

Anyone know of any FM Radio apps that uses the headphones as antenna? Not completely happy with the HTC Android stock app. Not looking for a streaming online app.

The xplay has both a fm receiver and transmitter. But it has been disabled somewhere in the software. FXP is working on a fix.

If you have unlimited data, the fm radio apps on the market are way better i find since you can get stations from around the world
The one I use though wifi is called tune in radio.

Would definitely recommend tune in radio... even with a poor data signal it can keep your stream going... only downside is that since it buffers there is generally a bit of a delay...

Thanks for the explanation, looking forward to had the same feature like this fm station on my play.
Internet radio was a bit annoying when it comes with buffering. xp

I saw today in my notification shade a toggle for the FM radio that sprint has obviously hidden. Any way I can get LG's FM Radio app to work on this phone?

I haven't seen a stock LG Radio app on the different ZVxs I've had installed...
Sprint is really pushing NextRadio so that is your best bet to use the radio.

You have to plug in wired headphones and then use the Nextradio app.

I realize I have next radio, but I want LG's radio app from I guess the Korean version. Not sure what model uses it.

Next radio will use data correct? Id also like to have use of the built in fm radio. Also has sprint removed themes for lg home with the lollipop update? I cannot find it anywhere on my Ls980 ?.
If you have headphones plugged in you can use Nextradio to listen to FM radio - no data usage. You can set the output to the headphones or the speaker. It works pretty well. The headphone cord is the antenna for the FM tuner chip.

My G Flex2 is like that as well. Haven't received the OTA on my G2 yet though.
