Super nintendo emulator wm6.5 - Windows Mobile Software Development

I did not create this app I just cabbed it and did work on the reg. Games can be played in landscape mode to the right or left. Transperency works. Very fast!
Install both cab files. Will not work on some keyboards unless you turn off T9.

I made this for the TP2 to be used with the TVOUT function but it will work on all resolutions.

I haven't played much with emulators on my PDA (frankly the state of emulation on the platform is depressing... but then again so is the state of everything else). Not even sure which version is the best...

The roms are 100% legal to download and play if he already owns the game cartridge or the rom is a game someone created like many of the super mario hacks. You have no clue if he owns super nintendo cartridges so it is wrong to assume he is gonna partake in illegal activity. So I will go ahead and recomend ********.

You gotta be joking, right? It bothers me beyond belief when people try to get smart about things that are as clear as day. With that same reasoning, you should be able to post links for every piece of music, film, and software ever created because you can assume that people are indeed in possession of said materials.

No they are not. Some games are in the public domain, and can be posted here and linked to any public domain (pd) rom site. Copyrighted material is different. In this case of games.. You would still need to back up your own games with your own dumping hardware. And with the US DCMA, even backing up your own games with your own hardware is a grey area. (Due to the fact that you are purchasing a license to a game, and not the physical game itself. Look at any EA license.)
Downloading is always a no-no. No matter what that BS TOS/disclaimer says on some rom site. The right to back up what you have is your responsibility and can not be downloaded.
Me backing up my own CD -- Legal.
Me downloading a copy of a CD I own -- Illegal.
(of course this is a simple example, cracking protection schemes is another legal story all together.)
On Topic: Ive found, although not perfect, morphgear is the best for snes emulation. Theres also a few versions of LJP (little-john palm os) which iirc became LJX and got ported to a few different platforms. I know I used to use one version on my old Treo 750. So there have to be a few WM versions out there. Currently cant find any. Will see if I can find any old data backups from my Treo 750.

actually the only thing i'm envious of is the quality of games on the iphone. Sure for windows mobile you also got a lot of games, but if the manufacturer (HTC!!!!) doesn't even provide hardware acceleration drivers, then no matter how many games you got.... it still sucks......
Luckly i havent really bought Touch HD yet but i want it very much.
and the again i cant wait for the new nVIDIA Tegra that comes out soon and it can play quake 3 with a fps of 30 and play 1080p movies.
so its just a matter of time to see if i can wait for Tegra because my current phone is totally broken.
and yeah i am envious on iPhone/iPod to just bought Ipod Touch so there three in my class that have iPod Touches and there is so meny great games espically the TD's

the games all look fine, but i personally would prefer NOT to pretend they are mario, god of war, call of duty etc etc.
using an icon of mario does NOT make it a mario game....likewise for the others
those are licenced/trademarked names from the original developers and using their names makes it sound like YOU think the game isn't good enough to sell without pretending it's part of a franchise.
i never install games like that
if it's a good game, rename it and rebrand it yourself....you should be proud of doing the work so don't cheapen it by trying to jump onto someone else's marketing bandwagon.
just my humble opinion of course....and i'm sure it's the opinion of Nintendo etc who own the copyright to those brands officially

Ok i read your post and you dont make any sense at all. If I was trying to sell the games I could see your point , but Iam not. The reason I made those games originally was for myself. I made them because those are the types of games I like to play. I figure I share them with others as well. Where do you see me trying to sell copywritten games??? Did you even think before you posted???

i think, what d-signet is trying to say is that usually games, that do not originate in a big franchise, but still use their names, are too poorly made to be branded under an own name. so, if you have a proper 1:1 clone of a mario game, name it as a proper clone. if it is an original platform game, which is good enough to stand for itself, don't minimize your own artwork by using mario's name and keep it original.
i have to agree with d-signet. i have come along so many knock-offs and clones that names like "SuperMarioGunWVGA" actually keep me from installing the game and even give it a chance, because i would expect another cheap clone. if you put an original name like jump 'n' gun or whatever, i would certainly have a look.
so, nobody is accusing you of copyright infringement, but only of a poor choice of names, while the work behind it and sharing it with the community is highly appreciated.

Well I guess no one wrote what I said. I will repeat , this are games that I wanted to play but didnt see avalible on windows mobile. I made them so I could play them on the go. I made original games also , like phaserx,rexum,colorbox,etc. Nintendo ,Sega,or Sony would not have a problem unless I sell thier games. There are hundreds of supermario,sonic, and many more clones avalible for the PC,MAC, or Linux. What I am doing here is nothing new , just having fun!!!

If you are looking for some nice games to play on HD i recommend PocketUFO, TTDeluxe, NetHack. They all look nice and are free.

Need For Speed & Monopoly?

So I know that it was basically JUST announced that the HD will now include these two games, but I'm wondering if anyone has cabs?

Alternatively, I would be more than happy to spend $10 on the Need For Speed version already available on several app sites, but it seems that version only works with hardware controls, whereas the version on the HD works with the G-Sensor.
It's always the way isn't it! You spend a truck load of money on a device and then the manufacturer comes along and makes it cheaper and better.

Hopefully the legends here will be able to extract the games and cab them up. Can't see how it could be considered Warez. If the Need for Speed is as good as Xtrakt then I'm laughing. Devices this good need to have better games, and ones that make use of the g-sensor. As much as I love Uno, it's hardly impressive!
Oh yeah right, I "extract" something from a shop - how can it be considered stealing? I dont think EA (the game manufacturer) intends to share it here with all of us. Maybe Monopoly, its a trial and needs to be activated on the HD.

i think the guy means extract it from a rom when and if we get an updated rom with games in them, which would be possible, we jus gotta wait to see how they release them

it aint going to be freeware so they wont be on roms as that sort of thigs isnt allowed here. Rom cooking is tolerated by HTC and other parties but that would dry up very quickly if people started adding stuff like coreplayer mobile and non freeware games. You'll have to find a "backup" copy on torrents

If that's the case then how come an extacted copy of Xtrakt from the X1 has been permitted on here? We don't know (or at least I don't know) the details of how these games are going to be included in the newly bought HDs.
If there's something on the HTC site about it then I couldn't find it. The link from the wmpoweruser site doesn't go to any article and when I looked it wasn't a headline on the HTC site.
surely the word "Bundled" means included as in already on the phone when u get it, my prime example would be the xtrakt game that came with a xperia rom and was extracted and we can use on our device, so yes it will be possible if thats how the games were implemented.
i understand that ea dont release freeware games but if they do get released "Bundled" into a rom update theres no reason why we couldnt update to that rom so i dont see why we couldnt extract the rom and get the goods,

Folks, I'd be willing to bet the house that the next official ROM upgrade release from HTC for the HD will include the two games. And we all know that official ROM upgrades are free. So to me, if you own an HD, upgrading for free to a new official ROM that includes the two games, is no different than getting them here in cab form.
Now, if HTC never releases a new official ROM for the HD, then all that is moot.

Oh of course I forgot, HardSPL was made available by HTC, so you can update your ROM, and of course you can update your HD with a Xperia ROM and copyrighted software on it...nono...keep on dreaming.
I profit from updates and extracts like you guys, but I dont give myself false excuses for it. And again, the Monopoly game is just a trial on the Singapore HD. Peace.

From my point of view they aren't selling it, so if we get it here for free they've not lost any revenue.
If they were to offer it for sale then that'd be different, but I'm sure they wouldn't be short of sales from us and others.
Given that we want to encourage games like this on WM it would be foolish not to buy it if we can. If we can't then we can still show that there's a demand for it.
I would most definitely be interested in acquiring those games for my HD! I hope you guys are right in your guess with them being included in the next rom update from HTC. I'm loving Xtrakt, Need 4 Speed would be the game I've been waiting for personally!

where did you ask this? Because I have never heard of mojang responding in that way, only the minecraft forums who are not representatives of mojang.
Minecraft PE supports the XPeria play controls and the touch controls only. No idea why its only the xperia which gets hardware control. There are apps for rooted devices to map hardware controls to touch, perhaps one of those may work with the shield and minecraft. There might even be some way of mapping shield buttons to the xperia buttons and fooling minecraft into using them, but that is something I am more doubtful of.

I have tested this app to be working on final fantasy dimensions with the physical control to touch screen emulation, and it works great. The right stick drifts a bit though, and i believe that is a side effect of the right stick acting as a virtual mouse sometimes but I could be wrong.

This is why I normally avoid paid apps/games on play store like the plague...App A says "hardware controls supported" so person buys app a, and runs it to find out that, he needs to spend even more money on app b to use the hardware controls in app a.

: / you know its that kind of attitude that I relieve is responsible for the lack of decent games on android. There are a few but most of them cost money. And if a game is good, I willing to put down few bucks. Those free games are never really free anyway. They are pay to win.
Sorry for the rant, but I felt that I needed to voice my opinion .
And in my experience, devs are pretty good at integrating features that people ask for, particularly controlled support.
And what do you mean about mojang being misleading about mine craft pocket edition being cross platform?... That's the first I've heard of that.

I would not mind paying for a game if the developer stood by their game and actually helped the people who buy it with problems.
My comment about free games is that if you get a free game you need to expect no support or bad support, but if you pay for a game you should get decent support. I have never once gotten decent support for paid games on Google play, I have always gotten better support from free games.
And for cross-platform play setup a minecraft server on your desktop and connect to that from minecraft pe on your android device.
about the pay to win games there are also plenty of free games that are not pay to win.

I believe you are mistaken. You can, in no way shape or form, play cross platform from minecraft pocket edition to pc, you can play cross platform between android and ipod/ipad. but that's about it. It wouldn't work anyway, pocket edition is missing blocks from the pc version, and pocket edition has blocks that the pc version does not have (ex: nether reactors)

My main reason for posting is that the game controls are not supported.
My frustration is that the support staff are being very very rude to me for trying to get the controls supported.
I can live with out cross-platform play, but they will not even accept it as a suggestion.
If i knew I would have to spend even more money to use the controls I would not have payed for minecraft pe in the first place. there were other game i could have spent the same 7$ on that would have actually worked correctly.

E-Mailing their support team.
If they just been polite about the controls not working, and not been rude about it. If they also put in writing on the play store page that they do not accept suggestions, then there would be less problems there.

I'm sure that in one way or another minecraft pocket edition will eventually get shield support.
In the mean time, It is likely that another app like the one i posted will become available for free.
Minecraft pocket edition has very little in common with minecraft on PC at the end of the day.
Pocket edition primarily consists of a C library. They then use a wrapper to expose the libraries features on android, iOS and raspbian independently. The raspbian version has even further modifications.
Minecraft on PC is java.

They do claim that the hardware controls are for Xperia Play, they make no claim that it is compatible with any other gamepad.
The Shield controls and of course external gamepads are exposed to android as Human Interface Devices and you can use the standard android library to interface with them. The Xperia Play controls are not exposed as an HID for some reason, some of the regular buttons can be treated as an HID (with really weird mappings actually, think circle is mapped to Alt Key plus the android back button or something bizarre) but the thumb"sticks" cant and sony give an actual android lib which covers the regular buttons too, most developers just use that, including mojang for some reason.
Honestly, I think they need to get their fingers out of their asses and add HID input with proper assignments and joystick support. There are quite a few android devices out there with hardware keyboards etc,. Hell, sisters netbook came dual booted with android but has no touchscreen, that would be even more unplayable than the Shield for minecraft without 3rd party apps (and no, cant just switch over to windows and play MC there, without the optifine mod it gets 2 fps, with it gets 3, unplayable, increase java priority and the system cant keep up and you get input lag anyway, all drivers are updated)

In addition, C is much more ideal for games in general over Java. On a mobile device you need C so the OS can manage the memory better.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but since most of the old Nintendo games are still being sold via the Nintendo eShop to be played on newer consoles like the Wii U (and I guess there is something similar on Sony's side) aren't all the threads in this section against forum rules #6 and #9 by providing links to download games (roms) illegally? Yes I know, i'm supposed to only download games that I already own, and these games are pretty old but I thought they were still considered like copyrighted materials...?
Don't get me wrong, I like this game forum idea, but I'm just a little surprised its tolerated... and curious to know why its ok for Nintendo and Sony materials but its not tolerated elsewhere on xda for lets say, a random cracked app from the playstore...?
And according to what Nintendo is saying here, especially what said under:

You make some good points, and we are investigating it to determine whether we should keep this section or close it down. It's rather confusing because there are multiple stances on game emulators and game roms. I wonder how the apps are able to exist on Google Play.

Let me start by stating that this is not an app request!!!
I just want to know if anybody has this port working on a fire tv stick 4k, and if so, then how did you compile it? On the stick itself?
I've compiled it for my linux pc and on my phone and am loving it, but the tv is where this game belongs.

In short to answer your question : I wouldn't use a single game emulator when I can have a better experience with an emulator.

That's not how it works and yes it is against copyright to copy ANY Nintendo game..
This also shouldn't be in the fire TV stick section as this is to do with hacking and apps, not fire TV .

Sorry, it was kinda patronizing.
Mario64 has been decompiled in secret by brute force methods, and is natively available for all platforms. Some hacking group did this, most likely because they knew Nintendo was, yet again, reselling roms.

Sorry I insulted you Gladz. Doesnt make you any less incorrect. This completely destroys emulation.
My game is seamlessly modded and has graphics comparable to SMG in 4k. All coins are in 3d. Trees in 3d. All character models are smooth and updated. Textures enhanced with neural networks. Makes what just came to Switch seem laughable by comparison.

LOL. It is a NATIVE PORT. The code for the ACTUAL GAME was decompiled.
You can use supermario64pcbuilder and compile a Windows port and it pulls it straight from github, as long as you have a legal rom and own the game.
If fully supports xbox 360 controllers, 4k, widescreen, different camera controls, texture packs, new models, new animations... AND ITS ALL NATIVE!
So let me ask you... How do YOU THINK IT WORKS? ...
PS: Ill clarify... This is a ONE TIME DEAL that is FAR BETTER than emulation. Super Mario 64... is on PC! (and Android and IOS and Switch(this version))

LOL ?... Yea it is sorta unheard of, getting or decompiling the entire source of a commercial game besides something like Doom, but yea it would be wise to actually follow the links and check things out before attacking someone. Sorta the purpose of github anyways.. people don't throw up compiled code - and among devs it is very frowned upon to either steal code, invalidate licenses or add ads. There wouldn't be much tolerance for any of that behavior on github. If someone forks a project or steals code without properly staying within bounds of the license then I imagine it would be pretty easy to get that taken care of - at least on github.
Also from what I have heard, the original source code of mario 64 was leaked, BUT like what @TimmyP was saying this is a full decompile of the source code and took probably several contributors a VERY long time to go through and cleanup and make it recompile. They also DO NOT distribute any of the asset files that are not actual code, so as far as the legalities of it.. it would appear they are in the clear and how you obtain image, and audio assets is none of their business.
(lets just hope they are secretly working on OOT, because what 2 games could you possibly want native code to? These would probably be my top 2 choices, and we got one already)

Right ok, I did have a look and I am a gamer so yes having a game ported is great on all sides..
So to be clear, this ROM would be natively running on android? Great.. so no emulation, no other encoded system, just android?
Clever what they've done with the ROM insertion, as that would be copyright infringement.
Nintendo don't allow copies even if you own the original.. which sucks and I'm not sure how that's legal but it's Nintendo, so much doesn't make sense with them.
It was ported to pc first and since then you've been able to compile it for a lot of devices, some are reporting that this port works better native on the switch than the official Nintendo release.
The port itself is not piracy, compiling for android is not piracy, sharing a finished apk would be piracy
This port is awesome on so many levels, one of them is the possibility of mods, and there are already a good number of mods available.

It may be a gray area, but you really can't say it is illegal. Of course Nintendo would contend otherwise and at times it is necessary for companies to take things to court just to ensure their copyrights remain valid - regardless of what the judgement or out come may be. Think Xerox vs copying machine. Regardless if you have the ability to replicate something for your personal use then that's been fairly well upheld in courts, VCR, VHS, DVRs - it's not illegal to make a copy, but distribution or mass distribution certainly.
Where this gets murky is that they are not redistributing the finalized rom, nor any of its assets. They are not even sharing the original variable names of the various functions (beyond coincidence). The only literal thing they are redistributing are the binary numbers and similar logic - but even that may differ some since this is a decompile - not the original source and who really know how it comes back out after the original code was written. Compilers create all sorts of optimizations and I would assume some of that may actually be dumped back out into the decompile as it will not possibly be a perfect replica.
Regardless of the fact that the source code may differ the final product does come out to be the same - but again - that is only the case with the proper assets and audio and in all reality someone could literally create replacements for all of those things and you could end up with a final product that has no clearly copyrighted material in it at all.
All I am saying is it doesn't really matter how much you think this is or isn't legal - the way the team has gone about this has not been blatantly or obviously illegal nor the way they have released it. We could even get into conversations about IBM v Compaq too, and again there were and are ways to recreate somethings without it being illegal. It's at the very least a gray area, but you really can't say much more than that.

Yea it's not what I think! Nothing to do with me at all..Nintendo are quite unique in what they state in their copyright terms..
As I've said before. I am a gamer and I do like emulation, I've used literally every single console/ computer out there and my computing history goes back to the early 80s so I know a thing or two about it.

On a personal note, I bought Mario 64 back when it was released and completed it up to Yoshi on the roof, it's a good game..and I like the idea of a native android version, I can just understand their legal standpoint, regardless if you have not distributed the game, the process available Nintendo will see as an infringement.
As per your second to last paragraph, if it's running Mario or anything similar, then infringement avoidance is impossible..

Removed a few bits as there's a lot that wasn't really addressable. We're talking about the same company that said renting their video games was and should be illegal and fought it in court. Wouldn't allow instruction manuals to be included with copies the rental store owned (copy or original). They also tried to be the only supplier for chips of cartridges and forcing publishers to gamble with a minimum order of 10,000 cartridges for their new game - no wonder you had 3rd parties hacking their way around it and making their own cartridges.
There's law, agreements and what's enforceable - and many companies have a lot of things in their agreements that are not remotely enforceable or following any existing or future law. A company can say a pear is an orange in their agreement if they want to, but it doesn't make it true, nor the person that has to "agree" to it to believe it either.
XDA is safe as long as they do not link to or promote stolen content - the site isn't going to get contacted by Nintendo or Microsoft for linking to an incomplete re-implementation of Mario 64 any more than Microsoft can go after XDA for linking to ReactOS because they re-implemented particular APIs.. Hell Oracle tried going after Goolge too and failed - fortunately one of the judges took an actual programming course and learned what APIs meant and were so he could properly rule in Google's favor at the end of the day. Granted many judges would have likely not bothered like he did.

Like I said I don't like it. But that's their standpoint pal.
I personally think it's a matter of time.
On another note, I think the firestick will struggle to run this game..even if it's implemented in the right way..
