How is everyone using spare parts to see what app is not letting the phone sleep? Currently my up time and awake time are the same. Need to find out why phone is not sleeping.
Look under partial wake usage.

I'm running a s-offed 2.3 custom rom, and when I left out overnight, the battery usage showed the phone was awake the whole time. I tried installing spare parts but it force closed whenever I want to see battery usage to determine what's been keeping my phone awake. Any idea is appreciated.
do u have it plugged in? u can set your phone to stay awake while plugged in thru applications, dev, stay awake
I don't have it plugged in, I don't want it to be awake overnight that's all to save battery.
It is advised to set the wifi sleep policy to 'never'.
Which rom are you using?

Wifi is set to never sleep already. I'm running oxygen 2.0.1.
How do you find out which app is causing a WAKE LOCK?
same question. If someone knows, please enlighten us.
Thanks
There are a few apps that are available in the market to single it down if it's not obvious like facebook
Better battery stats is one off my head, you can single it down by seeing what's using battery usually by going to settings > battery and seeing what's at the top... If it's not display then you've got a wake lock usually.
.. unless you're doing standby battery tests

The best way to check if you even have any wakelocks is to check the battery graph under settings and see if your phone's awake time is greater than it's screen time (I attached an example of my phone's graph while asleep a few nights ago)
If it's like mine you obviously have some wake locks...and to find out what services are waking up your phone, already recommended Better Battery Stats shows you what woke your phone via partial and kernel wakelocks...partial wake locks are what you're really looking for since kernel wake locks are obviously at the kernel level and if you're using a halfway decent one it shouldn't really be a problem
From here you just need to track down what services are initiating the partial wake locks (the service name is listed) and either turn it off or uninstall the associated app
EDIT: The Galaxy Nexus (for me at least) has been causing issues with wakelocks at least on 4.0.3 (see my stats attachment) but it's looking like a core OS thing and since 4.0.3 hasn't even been pushed out OTA yet it would make sense that they're ironing a few things out. Though I still am trying to troubleshoot what the services are specifically

Under display and gestures option I have sleep set at never turn off and Stay Awake is checked also , under developer options I have stay awake checked. Under wifi I have high performance mode and keep Wifi on during sleep chosen. And still this POS keeps going to sleep. Does anybody have a solution for this ? thanks
Why would anyone want the phone to stay awake and drain the battery?
Stay awake is only for when charging. If you have the display Timeout set to never and it is still turning off you have problems.

There's an app by runks on the play store called stay awake. It'll do what you ask.
I leave my display on with a recipe up so I don't have to keep unlocking it with floury hands

What do you care why they want to do this? If you don't have helpful information don't post! Geeesh, I'm sick of wasting my time reading these types of posts on forums, it just makes finding answers difficult and time consuming.
I'm so frustrated with my phone battery. I go to sleep at night with my battery at 99% and I wake up 4-5 hours later and find my battery drained to 30%. I use better battery state (screen shot), but I can't figure out what's keeping my phone awake...
Can someone please explain how to find the source of this problem? I appreciate it soooo much.
Btw, if it matters... This problem been stuck with me with all of the ics roms, all roms. I have like 30 apps installed... do I deleted 1 app a night and wait to see what happens? Any other way... Need your help sooooooooo bad.

You will probably get a better answer in the better battery stats app forum. Read the directions on the op, post a system dump and Chamonix is great about helping out.

Do you turn off Wifi when you go to sleep? I'm only asking because I see it's on in the SS. If you don't turn Wifi off then that's your culprit.
if it were me, I'd install gsam battery monitor (look for it in the market, free) and go to 'app sucker' and look at the "View Time Held Awake" and the "View Num Times Waking Device" to find out which app is causing your heartache.
I also had the same wakelock problem, using BBS it was "*backup*" which is a google sync I believe, just froze it with TB, and problem solved. Using BBS, just change the settings to show "partial wakelocks" and have it set to show "since unplugged"
Why don't you just charge your phone overnight? I wake up every morning and my phone is at 100% when I wake up

Brook... I do, I'm just trying to find out what is killing my battery day & night. I remember Calks GB lasting me at least 20+ hours with light usage, now with no usage I pull my phone to find its almost dead... Sux ya know
Hey guys. So, I'm currently using a stock rom for the XS w/ SSKernel v7 on it. I usually run my phone in OnDemand governor w/ 1.62ghz up and 138mhz (thru SystemTuner). When my phone is on standby for like 7-8 hours, 5-10% of my battery gets eaten up. And when I check the battery consumption (thru Settings ->Battery ->Battery Graph illustration), the phone is usually awake for like 75-90% of the time. How is this possible and are there any ways on lowering this down so that I could save more battery during standby?? Hope you guys could help me out with this Thanks..
P.S. WiFi, BT, Data Access(Mobile Internet) are off. Only the network carrier sim is on.
Can you provide a screenshot

I just charged my phone again But your awake length isn't that much. How did you do it? I tried switching to KA19 rom. Still testing it out though.
First, ur settings are not optimal.
Second, dont trust ur battery. Use betterbatterystats to look for wakelocks and something like that.
Here's my screenshot. Apparently, that 7 hours is like standby coz I was sleeping at that time. You could see that it's been awake for a heck of a time and it's just so annoying to see that. What should I do??
Battery was from 82%-76% when I left it at standby mode.
