Need help with setting up the apn
i have got a desire with 2.2 on it from 3uk network. i am trying to setup new apn on it. i am able to save the apn settings, but unable to get the radio button nxt to it to select it to be in use. i have added multiple apn settings, all with no radio button nxt to it. i have restored the apn settings to default, rebooted, restored entire phone to factory settings, added apn settings again, tried all combination, but no joy.
i had a bit of success on adding the apn and deleting muti-multiple times, but since i had to reset the phone that was deleted again. now again no radio button.
in BTWN i had borrowed my friends HTC Hero for few days and had same problem on it.
Can any one post any solution on this plz. i a so frustrated with this.
HTC O2 NEO
HTC AT&T 8525
HTC DIAMOND & DESIRE (current)
Soon SAMSUNG OMNIA 7
If you restore the default apn settings, it doesn't work? Why u want add other apn settings?
Anyway check the apn type, the one u want use should be named "default" i think.

After successfully installing the latest ARHD for my GNex, I noticed I had no mobile connection at all (I'm with Telus). The FAQ for ARHD said to check APN settings, which is fine I remember having to input them manually on a friend's Desire HD (Telus) after installing the rom. For some reason, APN setting aren't even visible in my mobile network menu. What am I missing guys? Any insight would be awesome!

I have a SGH-T999 that I have unlocked. I put a simple mobile card in but I am unable to change or delete the t-mobile APN settings. I add new settings for simple mobile but it auto switches back. I tried to change the defaults network settings but it changes back again. I rooted and rom, tried lots of roms they all had the same problem unable to delete T-mobile APN settings it always switched back when new settings were entered. I thinks its because it recognizes the simple mobile sim as a T-mobile card. I put a att card in and no problem at all. the t-mobile APN did not even show up. I currently unrooted and stock rom. Could I load a Att rom on it? So it will allow for simple mobile and not get t-mobile auto APN settings?
Thanks for your help

Hey, I have a HTC Desire 816 (US) for Virgin Mobile. I like the Google Messenger and Hangouts app however I can't seem to send or receive MMS for either app. The stock Messages app works just fine. I've done some research and it appears I need to look into my APN settings. However, I have no idea how to get to those on the phone. The directions that are given lead to know where. Can anybody tell me how to fix this. Thank you.
You probably need to download an app from the play store, I think the one I used for CyanogenMod was called Change APN. Just opens the APN menu for you. Also, the one site I found with Virgin Mobile US APN details had it wrong. But if you're on CM 12, their pre-set APN for VM is correct, you just need to select it in the menu. For the Sense-based ROMs, they don't seem to have it by default.

Thanks for trying to help. I am currently on stock rom and it appears that Virgin Mobile has the APN on lock down. I have not found a way changing it and getting it to work. Everytime I try to add a new apn with CHANGE APN app it says saved but doesn't add it. The one that's in there has a locked symbol on it. It could be because I am on stock rom. However I am rooted and S-Off, I still can't change it. I haven't tried CyanogenMod because I want a fully functional phone. Anybody else have any ideas. All I want to do is use hangout or google messenger with MMS and it work. I think it stupid that its included on the phone and it's not even fully functional. I can get chompsms to work but it has it's own apn settings.

That's interesting cause I personally use hangouts and am also on stock and rooted with s off and it works fine for me. What kind of error is it giving you? Is it immediately failing or failing after trying to send for awhile?
