Does anyone know how to use the 9000 as a modem ?

Hi,
Does anyone know how to use the Universal as a Modem ?
I installed the Modem Driver , but I cannot get it to work !
Are there any changes I need to make in the LAN Settings in the Internet Explorer ?
Thanks
Micman
Guess you're referring to USB modem.
1. Disconnect USB Cable.
2. Universal: START/PROGRAMS/Wireless modem
- Set USB as Connection Type
- Tools/Options: Check Use preferred GPRS / Verify APN
- Start the MODEM
3. Connect USB Cable. PC should detect the modem.
- Install drivers from original CD (D:\OEM\APPS\Drivers\USB Modem)
- Start USBModem_Dialer.exe - located in the drivers folder (Fill the UN/PWD, APN...)
- It will create a new dial up connection. Click CONNECT. It will probably fail but don't worry.
4. Try to connect using the created Dialup Connection
- Reenter UN/PWD.
- CONNECT
GOOD LUCK!
Thanks a lot !!!
Does this same work as Bluetooth Modem ???
That would make my day.
Cheers
Micman
When i used my old XDA2i and XDA2s as a wireles modem (USB or Bluetooth) i did as said above, but when you enter ""wireless modem"" it turn the phone part off for making and recieving calls and makes the phone a medem only.
BUT on my Exec using the smae toshiba laptop i have made a bluetooth conection to my Exec, then told the laptop this is a modem on the new Bluetooth comm port.
When i ask the laptop to dial the new conection it dials the default APN in the phone and works fine.
so i dont use wireless modem, and i can still have the phone on for recieving calls.
Can someone please confirm that if you use a Exec as a ""wireless modem"" it dose or dose not turn the phone off so it cant recieve calls or have they now made it do both at the same time
Thanks
John
Making a BT Connection is even more simpe!
1.Put Universal in discovery mode.
2. Search for a new device on PC / ADD Dial Up Networking Service
PC will install a Bluetooth modem
3. Create a dial up connection, enter UN/PWD & Phone number: *99#
VOILA
Hi,
great , thanks a lot for the tips, but .....
It installs a 33600 Standard Modem Driver, and I can't find a Bluetooth driver.
Am i forgetting something ?
Micman
Perhaps you should reinstall/upgrade BT drivers.
BT Modem is a part of BT Stack/Drivers.
Actually I am not 100% certain, but it seems like the BT Connection also automatically starts a Wireless modem service. If I am not mistaken, my BT Modem conneciton also drops when I answer or make the call.
So to answer your question: Yes, you can receive the call. But when you answer, the dial up connection drops.

Hi All
Been messing with this for sometime
Anyone successfully managed to connect their Hermes to a BT Homehub and use VOIP with BT Talk?
Any input welcome
same question but for my Orange Live-Box ..
currently it has a bluetooth serial port open, finding a way to use it is another matter.

I just got my hermes connected to my BT hub last night, now I have something to play with. Where do I get BT Talk from?

Using Artemis as an external GPS

Hey guys,
I'm sorry if this question has already been posted, but I searched and couldn't find anything.
My question is this, I have a NOkia E65 with a Navigator application, and I wanted to use my HTC P3300 as an External GPS via Bluetooth. Is that possible to do ? I've been fiddling around with the GPSGate app, but so far no such luck.
Thanks for your help
How far do you get through the set-up guide on this page http://franson.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3968
It works fine on my Artemis - Mike
Hi,
I was able to get it working through Activesync. At first connect your computer through activesync via Bluetooth. Then configure your GPSgate to connect through Activesync, then you can see your Artemis is now able to work as a external GPS receiver.

Just connect wildfire to pc via bluetooth and make sure the bluetooth adapter in your pc supports a2dp then it will work no extra software needed. However my PC picks up calls automatically which i don't know how to stop
I wish I could have this one solved too, it is vital for me to use my laptop headset to answer my phone, as I already use it to answer skype and other IP phones, but the auto answer thing is a KILLLLER

Android Bluetooth Master Slave

Hello
I am new in this forum and I am asking for help
I have a Huawei Honor 7 Lite Phone and I would like to connect it to a computer via bluetooth
from my knowledge it results that in the device manager there should be serial ports, eg incoming and outgoing
after connecting via bluetooth, I do not have these parameters.
I have an application on the computer thanks to which I can see who is calling to me. I used to use for this purpose samsung b2710 which was perfect for this type of solutions but now we have gone forward Is it possible that such ports will appear? I learned from a friend that once android version 2.1 was serving ports
Maybe some bluetooth manifesto written in an android studio? I am asking you for help and thank you in advance
