Hi,
I have seen several instructions on how to update the HTC Nexus one... Is there any way to use this update on the HTC Desire? Is there any guide on how to Update the Desire to Froyo?
Cheers!
Where have seen these instructions?
Froyo is not available for Desire yet, officially or unofficially. Some Devs are working on porting Froyo to Desire here.
For official upgrade, we'll have to wait weeks/months before HTC lauching it.
June 24th has been rumoured for the desire update
Take a look in the dev forums. It's looking like we are very close to getting Froyo. I have to say the work those dev's do is unreal
Hello,
Canadians or people who bought the telus desire, should be happy that telus is going to release 2.2 update in the month of October. But, sadly no official date has been given. I just wanted to share this with those who didn't root yet, like me lol...
Here's the link:

Great news! I've already rooted and gone to CM6 in frustration waiting for 2.2, but this will be a great boost for Android in Canada. I think this will be the first 2.2 device we get here.
Uhh... and in other news, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD IF THERE'S ANYONE OUT THERE WITH A NON-ROOTED TELUS 2.1 DESIRE, could you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make a RUU of it?
Uh, thanks. *picks self up off floor*

wow u mean htc people no help
Anyone?????????????????????
If your phone is branded as in have stuff from TELUS on it, they would have to release a special update first. Only unbranded handsets get updates from HTC. Try searching for "unbrand"
i dont see any telus stuff
You need to root and install a debranded 2.2 firmware yourself

What he said Openfroyo is working pretty good for me (unless there is a faster one out there)
lol i dont even know what they r lol . im new to desire . how do i root n debrand n get froyo and is open desire relly the best rom for desire?
If you look around the forum there are many guides for either unbranding your phone or rooting it.
The Telus Desire will have their own official Froyo version this month (October).
It's on their site but I can't post the outside link...

Read some (sticky) topics in development. Official froyo has no root. For opendesire you need root. OpenDesire has no Sense UI. There are many roms, and all are the best for some ppl. Read and search. SEARCH before posting.

Hello,
I'm undecided whether to upgrade to the latest build of the openetna project (the rc5 froyo), it looks like it's still buggy! My question is, where to find the early build (1.6 donut) and is it more stable? Plz help guyz as it's actually for my little brother, and he asked me to help him with it! Thanks!

Anyone??
pfffft, don't highjack my thread player21 lol xD plus i'm talking about the eve not the "evo", i'm talking about the LG GW620
at least can someone tell me how to get this backup done on ubuntu? (i'm a linux noob)
zacpod(dot)com/p/71
what the hell is "unyaffs"?
I got my Eve recently and is much more useable with the open etna firmware. If you're looking for help with nandroid backup this is probably not the place to ask.
I recommend the cfw, if you're confused with the backup you should ask in the openetna forum

Hello to everybody, I've just arrived from the Xperia X10 forum with my new Desire and I would like to know were I could find info about rooting and flashing new firms. Also, what do you think are the best roms available?
Thanks in advance.
The stuff is here.
Rooting tutorials
UnrEVOked is the easist way, tbh.
Best ROM? Different for everyone.
If you want 2.2 Froyo with extras, try LeeDroid
For DHD ports try InsertCoin, RCMix, ReflexTSense.
I did not try the gingerbread ROMs yet, mainly because of the bugs (waiting till an official release).
Next time please use Rule 1 of the forum - SEARCH!!
