Hi - I have both a Universal and a Wizard. For a while now, on my Wizard I've been using a ROM made up of 'best bits' of all the available releases, with all carrier customisations removed - this is released under the name 'Mr. Clean' rom. It's bugless and lightweight. Perfect!
Does anyone release a similar rom for the Universal? Or does anyone prepare one for their own use who might consider sharing? It really would be great to see.
This would be cool
We should do this.
A "Clean" ROM with a CAB set to choose from for each provider.
I would appreciate this greatly - since t-mobile remove some stuff from the blank setup.
Rich
A fast, lean and mean ROM would be awesome. I don't have the time or skills unfortunately.
There is one already. It was made by Jwright. Just don't install the Ext ROM if you really want it to be super clean. Here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=55019&sid=7789d445c5b87ea11980c475ab58e2c9
I followed that thread - but the links dont exist.
Could someone upload the T-mobile version of Jwright's ROM to the XDA-Developers FTP site??
If not - email it to me, PM me for my address. I'll host it on my website if someone sends it.
I just tried the thread I posted above and the link works fine. It must be your computer settings.
I am not sure which version is this though. I think he released QTEK, IMATE, and TMOBILE versions. Just use the Ma_Upgrade_No_ID_Tool.
The links to the other topics work OK but the ROM links given in http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=55019&sid=7789d445c5b87ea11980c475ab58e2c9
don't?? There is no such directory on the ftp site????
Exactly - The posts link OK, but the FTP site doesnt contain the ROMS
The link I posted above is the link to the topic with the files you guys are looking for. It should be on the first post of that link, and it works fine on mine.
Yes it does but we're talking about the links to Jwrightmcps modified ROM's... These are missing from the FTP site????
I am now confused. This has been discussed before, someone took off those files from the fttp. Probably someone does not want to share or maybe it took a great chunk of memory storage. That is why "Xanadu" provided us with this alternate download site, but it is the same file, so it does not really matter if we can't find the original posted file by Jwright because someone was gracious enough to share.
I thought the topic was where is Jwright's Modified ROM? I provided a link on where to donload it. Question answered. What is still the confusion? Are you looking for a specific file for a specific device like Jwright promised? If so, he also left instructions on how to use the Ma_Upgrade_No ID file. So just extract the files necessary and rename them, then install.
Ok, so I have an Epic 4G phone and I have it flashed on Cricket in San Diego.
from what I understand one I put 2.2 on it, I will have to get it re-flashed. I don't really have the money to reflash it and would REALLY love to put 2.2 on my phone wether it is a mod or retail...
My question is, I'm not really following how to flash it to Cricket. Can somebody that is extremely bored and has time give me a hand and explain it or show me a guide or something please?
Also, is the 2.2 version flashable to Cricket? Should I use a modded version or the sprint version?
And does anybody know how I can get MMS on this phone working? lol even with my original flash to cricket nobody was able to get MMS working...
I don't know if this is the right place to post/ask this, so if not just delete/move the question, but I'd appreciate the help.
Thank you!!
David
Ok, I finally got the search to work and found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780742
Is this still valid and will it work for 2.2?
that shouldnt change when you upgrade to 2.2... as far as MMS should be as simple as mmsc settings..
mms apn settings
Name: Cricket
APN: internet
MMSC: http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms?X-Cricket-MDN=XXX_XXX_XXXX
(the XXX_XXX_XXXX = your phone number (MDN not MIN))
MMS port: 8080
MMC: 310
MNC: 004
Can we add keyboard language on bada 1.2?
I know how to do that with bada 2, but not with 1.2.
?????
I don't have much experience with Bada 1.2, but check the RSRC1 file (and the language setting file in CSC, of course). You'll find everything you need in there. For RTL languages though, I don't know.

Maybe I am not uptodate...
But all Compression Algos or Uncompressed RC1/CSC Tricks only for bada 2 yet...
For bada 1.x no way known to modify RC1 nor CSC (Images)...
Sorry.

Wave Remaker opens and writes those (Bada 1.2 RC1 and CSC), too, but I'm not sure wether these (edited RC1 and CSC) are ok to flash. I have never tried (flashing) myself, and I suggest you ask forum member xsycox for more info on that. He's the one with the most experience in doing Bada 1.2 CFWs. I also had a look over his CFW files in the past, and it doesn't look like his RC1 is edited, but the CSC seems to be.
EDIT:
If you want a starting point, here it is:
I have done some Bada 1.2 modifications myself in the past, but never tested it due to an unfortunate experiment (that shouldn't have gone wrong at all) in the recent past and most probably never will. I'm scared of Bada 1.2 now. See here, read and understand the whole post. DON'T JUST FLASH THIS HOPING IT WILL BE OK. Download link is here. There are some modifications for more input languages in the CSC files in there and the RC1 contains tons of files for tons of languages (also in the standard RC1, btw). This is how I think (=not know) how it is done. I have no experience in editing Bada 1.2, of course.
Compare using WinMerge with xsycox' Bada 1.2 based CFW and you'll get an idea.
In any case let us know what you found out!

Could anyone give me a mirror in which I can find ABC rom? I mean, I've found it in the relative subforum but the informations there are so confused and dispersive, so that I can't have a solid landmark on which searching for updates and changelogs. Could anyone provide me a mirror in which I can search for updates, and give me a feature list of this rom? Maybe even an explanation about the logical of ABC rom. As I understood, there are roms randomly made by some people but nothing else.
@edoardotavecchio: no mirror, but
1. If you search in ABC-thread for ABCromCSE_bullhead*.zip, you'll easy find the latest build.
2. IMHO there's no big difference to SAOSP. So if you find searching too inconveniant...
