Hi all,
I have my new desire for almost a week now. I am trying to unlock it (it's locked to telus). I have tried many website (mobileincanada, cellunlock....) but they still answer me that the didn't receive the codes for ''new'' Desires.
I didnt ask a refund from cellunlock because he told me that if he doesnt have it, no one else will have it...so I'd better wait (1-3 buisness days) ... after 3 buisness days... they still don't have it.
I've spoken to an other admin from htccode dot com ...and they can 'give it a try'...because they have acess to ''all' databases. I'm not into asking a refund from cellunlock and be stucked again with htccode.
Can someone explain me the theory of 'new databases' Vs 'old databases' ?
How do these buisness work? How can they have to htc databases... why HTC give them access?
Hopefully I will find someone here who's in my situation and will try to help out.
Thanks fellas.
PS: I'm form montreal Canada...the cell is locked for telus...and I want to use it with fido (rogers)
I got a unlock code from cellunlock around a month ago, 10 minutes after I paid. Guess you just have to wait.
Finally got it from cellunlock! It took a week...but they delivered. Sometimes...you just have to wait for HTC to update their database.
If highly recommend cellunlock. Trully professional. We exchange ~10 mails... They have an awesome support...and respond very fast.
Will defintetly work with them again.

no not all the time if you get some one that will help you then they will make a record for the call.
I called 100 from the phone.
I had the same answers as well (21days/shop/not after12 months)
I called again and said I was going abroad and needed to use a local SIM card, he put me on hold for 5 minutes and then said it would be unlocked in 24 hours. Price 15£.
I'm not sure what will happen in 24 hours as, from what I am reading here, it is a lock on the phone not the network, Right? I should have asked him to give me the code over the phone?
I'll call him again tomorrow to see what's up.
02 XDA2s
was you given a unlock code for your unique device ?
or was it just working when they said it sjould be unlocked now
the reason i ask is 99% of customer service no nothing
Thanks

Yes you need to call them back and you will get your code
as for the £15 i did not get charged that at all
but its a small price to pay for a simm free phone that is still under warrenty

Same problem here, waited for 24 hours but nothing comes out, couldn't reach back the one who i've spoken to, even I've got her name, extention no., place of call center...really don't know hows the O2 CS working...Everyone gives me different answer.
i know its a big place but if you gave them your phone number it should be logged on the system.
Next time you call ask for a call ref
then they have to log the cal properly
i some times think that O2 CS dontdo there job as good as they sould do
Hope this helps

I called them again. Indeed they screwed up, They now told me that my request was logged but that it would take 21 days for them to retreive the unlock code out of the system.
The 24 hours timescale they gave me was to make sure that international calls were not barred on my SIM card.
I'm leaving for australia tonight unfortunately.

Hi everyone,
I'll have to admit, the way people seem to keep coming up with tweaks and way-outs, you guys are definitely a bunch of geniuses! I am new to this forum, and after going through a few posts, have been inspired enough to go for a Tmo upgrade to the HTC touch Pro2, but I am not sure if I would like to keep using Tmo service, hence asking you all here if you guys know a way how to unlock this phone to be used with other service providers?
Thanks!
Wouldn't flashing a new ROM able to get rid of the lock? Is that possible?
No don't think anyone has figured out how to SIM unlock yet. Atleast if they have I haven't seen a tool be released for it yet. In due time I'm sure there will be though.
usually tmo customer service will give you one unlock code every 90 days, even on just-released phones. but this time, they simply said they don't have it for the tp2. called twice, no go, rude cs rep on top of that. don't know if they flagged me for some reason, or if they are just not giving it out. everybody, call 611 and ask for it, see if anyone succeeds.
Thanks atlaswing,
will try my luck with the Tmo CS, but this can only be for the interim for ~90 days as you said, until one of the gurus here finds out the ultimate divine path to a sweet SIM unlocked TP2 on Tmo!
doing a google search for unlock code tmobile touch pro 2
shows a good number of hits for companies claiming to be able
to unlock it..of course for a fee...
I just spoke with TMo about a sim unlock for my pro2. They said I would received the unlock code and instructions within 7 days...
requested today, advise i will get it via email in 48 hours.
Unfortunately, T-mobile told me I had to be a customer for at least 90 days before I could get the unlock codes from them
I got the phone with a new activation. I was even previously a t-mobile customer many years ago.
search on ebay. it's under 13.00 and I got the code in about 1/2 hour. Works like a charm even on my Telus Pro2
Touch Pro2 Unlock
I have contacted T Mobile for Unlock Code. They replied saying request is placed with manufacturer and I need to wait for 7 days.

Please, i´ve bought a HTC Desire from Three (UK) and need a final solution for unlocking this phone.
There are some method to unlock DESIRE without need to buy code ?
or
Does someone can tell me a reliable and fast site to buy a unlock code that works ?
htcsimunlock.com ?
htccode.com ?
prounlocking.com ?
PLEASE, HELP ME !!!!
Are you sure that it's locked?
I bought my Desire from 3 and it's happily working with an o2 sim in it.
I got mine from 3 as well, and it's not locked
Hi everyone, i come from Hong Kong,
my friend in UK brought me a desire form Virgin, but it is locked by this network!
I want buy an unlock sim code from the web in UK; however, i don't know which company is reliable and reasonable..........can anyone help me......quite urgent
I have just bought a Desire which is branded Virgin Media from Cex in the UK and it is unlocked.
I have tried a three sim in it and it accepts the card and makes calls (called customer services) but I did not try to go on the web with it as I had no credit.
I am informed that it will not go on the web using a three sim, can anyone confirm this?
I have a Virgin 3G sim in at present and it is working well on the web.
i have retracted my statement since it was a error. the first email did not get throught to me. but the second one did after i made a paypal dispute they replied in less than 2hrs and even sent me a personal message via modaco excellent service apart from the technical error.
i do reccomend HTCSIMUNLOCK.com it worked out £13.77ish

So, which web do u prefer? i've sent a email to htcsimunlock.com, and they replied : "It's 19.95$ and takes from 5 minutes to 12 hours in some rair cases. The average delivery time it's 15 minutes."
How about unlock-htc.com ?
Re unlocking phones.
The easiest, most reliable way to unlock a phone is to contact your service supplier and request an unlock code from them.
I have done this with Orange, T-Mobile and Virgin and it works and is 100% reliable.
DO NOT USE HTCCODE - the guy is a crook.
This is an excellent service though:

Hi all,
I've got a brand new T-Mobile desire (picked up a few days ago), but i'm having problems getting it unlocked I've tried mobileunlocked.co.uk (with their supernew search) as well as htcsimunlock, but neither could find the code (but have refunded).
Is there any other option? Or is the phone just too new to have the code on a DB yet?
Thanks
Why not ask t-mobile for an unlock, they charge 15£ and can definately get you can unlock code ? though it might take a bit longer
Unfortunately i'm not with t-mobile, I bought the phone off someone who got it on an upgrade
Email me the IMEI no, let me check it for you.
Thanks ferrari, but I've already tried (and got refunded ) HTCCode.com, they couldnt find it
they are suppose to update the code database in the next 2 weeks....
mind if i ask you what is the first 8 digits of your imeI?
Mh, they are really SIMlocked? Can't imagine that...
The unlock codes for HTC Desire locked to T-mobile is available in the database now. You can get the codes from Prounlocking which takes minimum 5 hours to be delivered.
Jesus christ guys, why pay when you can just use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943726
Hi guys, new here, great community. I did search for this, but could not find what I was after..
I have a new HTC Desire S. S-ON unfortunately. I am traveling Asia in 3 weeks and don't want to be using my UK T-mobile SIM whilst abroad. What I do want, is to buy a SIM card over there and use it. So I have to unlock this phone somehow.
Called T-Mobile, they said they will happily do it for 15 pounds, but it takes 28 days for the code to come back from HTC, this is too long for me as I leave in just 21 days.
I read about sieempi's unlock tool which looks amazing, but seems to be suited just for the Desire, not the Desire S. Has anyone had any luck using the tool with the Desire S?
Also, online it appears you can pay for an unlock code, about 30 pounds or so, you send them your IMEI number and network and they generate you an unlock code. Firstly, does this method reliably work? And secondly, if 3rd party websites have access to a method, does anyone else for free?
Warmest regards all, hope for some good responses!
DJS.
You can try to post this in the Desire S sub-forum, to get more responses.
BTW, no idea about your problem.
Try posting in Desire S forum. Anyway I have used a website in getting an unlock code and it worked for me no problem. Cost me £20 ish.

Hmm...maybe a codes the way then?
There might be a website that does it for free but it will take longer about a day or two. I know there is for blackberry not sure about htc. But yea most websites are fine
No idea about free but you will get a code and not have to send off your phone. I couldn't find a free site for the Desire.
