I am getting a really long error trying to apply the OTA 2.2. I have not seen this anywhere on here and google is taking me to many different phones and not quite the same errors.
Code:
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/bin/reboot", "723277108cbd2d5E:unknown command[c41a12e055052004932e70fac",]
E:Error in /cache/ota_supersonic_3.26.651.6-1.47.651.1_releasexjg0a0vqdw5cor7z.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
I am running 2.1 updated on a rooted phone. (Rooted version of same.) I just updated my radio and PRI so that I have current radio .9 (or something) and PRI 1.77.
The download of the update seems to have gone fine and then I clicked the install and it is not working.
If I use Astro I can get to the reboot file but I have no idea how to open it. (ADB won't let me see anything in the system folder which is aggravating.)
If I use Astro I can get to the cache folder but it shows it empty. If I use ADB then I can see the OTA in there. (WTF?)
HELP....
What else? Let me know if I need to provide more info, I'll find it on the phone.
No one got a thought on this one? If search is up this morning I'll try that in a bit.

I've just installed a fresh new copy of RC2 with all the wipes.
1. When running AdFree i get the "Update Found" message.
2. when trying to "Download & Install Hosts" i get the the error:
"Error: Failed to replace your hosts file. Error message:"
3. When trying to "Revert" first i get "Failed to revert your hosts file, the 'echo' command seems to be missing"
Any ideas?
Thanks,
G
I had the same issue running CM. S-OFF seemed to resolve it, just flashed and tested it now.

how to solve this problem?
The error tells you what file failed the MD5 check.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
what does that mean? how to solve the problem?
First thing would be to download the zip again and try once more

You are not stock. You changed a font or something.
If you are not completely bone stock, NOTHING customized, not build.prop, not font, nothing, the update will go through.
yes I changed the font. I do not remember the default font and I can't change it back to default. what should I do?
I think Roboto is default for ICS 4.0. if not, can anybody tell me the name for default font for this phone.
Yes it is roboto. I'm not sure if you can just apply the font or not. I remember adryalyne posting somewhere that the md5 is changed permanently and even if you put the stock fonts back it still won't work. Correct me if I'm wrong.
My advice is to flash the stock 4.0.4 image in fastboot. There are here: http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html
You need to adb delete and then adb push the correct unmodified versions of any files listed from stock 4.0.2 to your phone, the update will then work as normal. They just failed the checksum.
I had the same problem with my modified launcher2.
Sent from Mobile..
is there a way to back up all installed app then put them all back without reinstall? also I have lot of text.
that is why I want to update but not wipe all.
I show how to solve this in this thread.
I had the same problem.

ok. when I get to:
~ # adb push 7f97fbc19417.signed-yakju-IMM76D-from-ICL53F.7f97fbc1.zip /sdcard/u
pdate.zip
adb push 7f97fbc19417.signed-yakju-IMM76D-from-ICL53F.7f97fbc1.zip /sdcard/
update.zip
/sbin/sh: adb: not found
what should I do? I am running adb from sdk/platform. should I put the files in that folder or on phone ?
I've been experiencing random reboots and audio issues with the nightly d2spr build from 5-14. There has been a few builds available to flash using the OTA push/pull function. Each new ROM fails to install however. I get an error:
"Assert failed getprop ("ro.bootloader") == L710VPBLJ7 (followed by other alphanumeric patterns)
Error in the nightly.zip (status 7).
Aborted."
I've had no issues updating in the past this way. FWIW, I am able to revert back to the 5-14 build which is saved in a cmupdater folder on my SD card. I can't recall doing anything new to the device except installing Faster Fix which replaces the gps.conf file with a different one to lock a signal faster.
For the newer nightlies you have to have the MD4 bootloader/modem.
Hi there,
for some time now I have been trying to update B116 to B117 getting the same error message every time:
View attachment 2311424
assert failed: apply_patch_check ("/system/app/HwCloudDrive.apk" ... )
E:Error in /sdcard/HwOUC/update.zip
(status 7)
I am guessing the update does not match the HwCloudDrive.apk (not sure, new to this). What have I tried:
1. Check the /system/app/HwCloudDrive.apk - not found in the folder, nor anywhere else on the phone. Searched the web, downloaded one apk, install failed for no reason (reason not stated, just that it failed)
2. Restoring factory settings several times
3. re-downloading many times
4. updating online as well as localy
So far nothing worked out. Some details about my phone:
Its P6-U06, android 4.2.2, baseband IMC1202_PENTA, kernel 3.0.8-00821, build B116SP01, bought in China, using New Zealand SIM (could this be a problem?)
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks to all!
Same issue updating error
Hi! I'm stucked with the same problem, I have tried to update it from external, wipe all data but nothing is worked, did you find a way??

Hi there,

There is a non so straight forward way to get it though by editing the "updater-script" file in the [ROMFileName].zip
You will need to unzip, edit the file (remove the line) with notepad and zip it back.
I've able to make it works with P6's MIUI V5 Offline OTA update rom.

Format Sdcard And Try Again. If It Didnt Work Download Latest B125 And Try Again Hope This Works.
Please supply more info about this fix.

Yes please explain a little further. I am having update issues as well.
My Huuawei Ascend Mate MT1-U06 Found an OTA Update HwOUC, I downloaded it, and when I try to apply the update it fails.
Hello everyone, I'm trying to update my device (Nexus 7 2013 16 Gb Wifi only) to 4.4, but I'm stuck at the verify process... this is the output:
Code:
...
Verifying update package...
Installing update...
Verifying current system...
"/system/app/Books.apk" has unexpected contents.
E:Error in /tmp/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
I guess that it's because I deleted some apps that I didn't need from /system/apps, like Google Books, Movies, and some other stuff...
Can I force the update or is it best to download the 4.3 update, extract de apks and restore them?
Thanks a lot.
Cheers.

You will have to either replace those apps back in system/apps or you can use the factory image to flash it back to stock. You might not need to flash the whole factory image if all that was modified was in the /system directory. All you would have to do is
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
Same problem

You have to flash the stock image to go back to stock. Then you can use adb sideload to update.
Thank you very much, heat361, that worked like a charm!
Nice one man, it worked for me installing the gpe update!
never mind. solved!
