Once I upgraded to 2.2 with the OTA my GPS/location has stopped working. It never actually gives me my exact location, just the area I am in (and it's barely right). I use the widget to turn on GPS and in the location settings, "Standalone GPS Services" and "Google Location Services" are on. Am I doing something wrong or what?
Under location, you need to have all three checked.
Under applications development uncheck mock location.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get geotags using the stock camera? or do I need a third party app?
Thanks as always.

If I'm not mistaken it's in the settings in one of the tabs on your camera. I think it says gps, I'm not certain though.
Nope. I don't have any setting like that. I was going nuts looking for it today.

My gps always turns on when I use the stock camera apk, but I don't know if its geocashing or not. I always ssumed it did. I'm on mammon 1.04 dk28 .

its on my default as everytime i take a picture i see the gps in the top left corner and when i important to iphoto it shows it all on a map.
Every picture I have taken has been geo cached with the stock app.. It tells me all the locations in the gallery..

In the 2.2 roms geotagging is always on in the camera app. As long as your GPS is enabled on the phone itself it will tag them.
I flashed the 2.1 camera app back onto my phone so I could turn off geotagging in the camera but leave the GPS feature of the phone turned on.
I am on Mammon as well, and it shows the pics on a map under options, but there is no option I see to turn it off or on.
Well now whenever I receive a phone call I have to press 1 to answer it.. I think it may have been when I was fooling around with google voice.

It's annoying for people you don't want to screen. I believe you can set it as an option in your Google voice settings. You can turn it on/off for everyone or just particular groups. Look under 'Call Settings'. I've attempted to turn it off for 2 groups, but I don't think I've got it sorted all the way out yet, so this may not work.
You can turn it off but you have to do it from a pc as far as I can tell.

Ya must be done on your home computer under Google voice settings.

From your PC, login to your google voice account, then to disable it go to the "Voice settings", click on the "Calls" tab, and then where it says "Call Screening" choose "Off"...
I am seeing something weird happening on my GN2 and cannot find how to stop it. The TouchWiz is talking back in some places. For example if I click on a folder I get "The folder is open" and if I close the folder I get "The folder is closed". If I open editing page to adjust the order of home screens I get "Home screen editing page is open" and when I close it I get "screen 4 of 8". Very annoying.
I tried everything, Sound settings, Accessibility settings, went down all settings one by one. Cannot find it.
Does anyone know where to go to turn it off?
Thanks

Do you have Light Flow or Light Manager or some other notification LED managing apps?
But it should be in accessibility settings btw.
Nop, no light flow or any other led apps. And nothing that I found in accessibility is disabling that voice

Is there no TalkBack option in your accessibility settings?

I don't know when or how, but I once accidentally turned on car mode.
system settings -> accessibility -> text to speech -> driving mode.
I could swear there is some sort of setting for blind people. Maybe that's it?

My problem for solved after I uninstalled light flow

There is but it is disabled. I went through all options of TalkBack and none of them affected this. TalkBack is turned off right now but I still get the same response.

Never had Light Flow installed.
Maybe clear data and cache on Talkback, S Voice or what ever "talking" apps you have. That would reset them as if they have never been used.
Everytime I unlock my note 2 the location icon comes up literatly every time, If I lock the device and then unlock it 10 seconds later its there, I can understand doing it if it was 15 mins or so.
Would this be an app doing this or is it just a samsung thing? Is there a way to tell or does everyones phone do this?

Most likely an app and unless I do a lot of digging (I can't remember the apps name) I would shut off GPS unless needed... Essentials there is an app that can observe your wake lock behaviors and determine what the culprit is (I.e. which app is causing the GPS to trigger).. No one can really help you figure out a solution without knowing this info either... Do some research and see if you can't figure it out as I will in spare time try my best to point you in a better direction

Thank you for the honesty I have had a look at some apps and most weather have hour refresh rates. I thoght automate it could of been it but force closed it and it isn't that app either. Dont know why so many apps are allowed access to this stuff when they don't need it.

i was going to ask if you are using tasker- automate is a lot like it.....but it seems you have eliminated that possibiltiy

I do read them but unless you want the app what can you do? Heck if I read them I would only proberbly have one or two apps installed as all apps ask for loads of permissions they don't need at all that's what I meant.
Anyway found the app, sense v2 flip clock thought it looked the best out of all the look alikes. Gone back to beautiful widgets now and ain't had the location thing back yet. Strange because there is an option to update upon unlocking and I had unticked that so I guess it ignores your preferences.

I can't seem to find GPS shortcut for the pull-down menu after I did the KitKat update. Did they remove it or am I just blind and cannot find it?
Its called location. If you don't see that then scroll all the way to the right and click on edit and look for location. If its already checked then try toggling it off and back on

I just figured that out. I really liked having 1 click GPS on and off. Now its 3 clicks. Oh well I guess I'll get used to it.
How is it 3 clicks? Once its on your notification panel you just toggle on/off with one click

Doing that also turns off the cell and Wi-Fi location services. I was just looking for the quick GPS sensor toggle.
Yeah it depends if you want to keep it on a certain mode. Thus far using the battery saving mode has still given me accurate GPS location. I haven't tried using navigation with it though so not sure if that would work just as well or not.
