MMS helper app? - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, we know that the Sprint network will not allow us to mms large pics. Although we all like to shoot our pics in high res, so the archived version is high quality, we need a smaller version to mms.
What I am looking for is an app that will auto-trim a pic down to mms-able size. Anyone know of such an app?
Thanks.

[Q] Resolution pictures in MMS

I sent a mms with 3 pics made by my phones camera; the 1st pic was converted OK, but the 2 others in the mms the conversion was to an extremely low resolution!
Is there a setting in the message application, to which resolution the pictures will be converted (by default) before they will be enclosed in a mms message (i.e. to VGA-resolution)?
If so: where can I find those settings?
It might be due to the size restriction of the mms. It's not unlimited amount of data.

instant upload full size

Hi All,
Been messing around with the Galaxy Nexus for a few days now and am more and more wanting to find a way to sync full resolution camera shots to the cloud automatically. I was thinking about just using dropbox + dropsync but the 2gb size limit wasnt too desirable for me.
NOW.. the newest version of the google+ app states in the release notes that instant upload now will do it in full resolution. I've tested it a dozen times and all photos are still being resized to the x2048 size.
Anyone have any luck with full sized photo syncing? I'd like to use the google+ app but non-full resolution isnt a viable backup option IMO.

[Q] Google+ Instant Upload Full Resolution

Any reason why the latest google+ release notes said full resolution image upload however instant upload photos are still compressed down to 2080x?
I really was excited to think that I could use the google+ app as a cloud based backup of my photos... looks like I will still rely on photocloud.
Thoughts?
I have wondered the same thing. Also, are previously backed up photos (with version 1 of google plus instant upload) are they re-uploaded in higher resolution? Or do I have to pull them off the instant upload folder and force it to re-sync?
when you download it form google + its the full pic

That is incorrect. I just used the "Download Full Size" in google+ and it gave me a file that was compressed and resized down to 2080x.
Pictures are automatically resized to 2048 pixels on their longest edge.

I am paying for 80GB of storage. Why are my images resized and reduced to lower quality?
Because they are crappy noisy smartphone pictures anyway? You can still manually upload the full res image to picasa if you are convinced that it is good enough to store it at 5 MP.
So I don't get to have a choice because you think my camera is crappy? Google wants me to buy storage. They should encourage me to upload full resolution photos. Thanks very little for your useless reply.
You still replied
Anyway, I know the camera is crap, I've got one in my pocket.
yeah it is. but still

Grainy Video

So recently I've noticed that when my wife and I exchange video messages via stock, chomp, handsent, or gosms messengers, no matter what the mms configuration is. They alway show up grainy and in one occasion with handsent as a GIF.
So I'v noticed that when I choose to shoot video from within gosms the video settings in the video app are set to mms mode making the video resolution the lowest it can possibly be, so no matter what I set gosms to the initial video is still very low res.
My question is.
Is there a mod or a way to change this so that the video can be taken at a higher resolution.
assuming there are no problems with the phones and you are just annoyed at the lower quality of videos sent between phones, then you are probably stuck. Video takes up a lot of memory and bandwidth. You are better off uploading a better quality video to youtube and then sending her the private link to view it on her phone. There are other cloud options/websites as well for videos
It will still hog the data though.
Perhaps somebody else can chime in with a better solution

No theres nothing wrong with the phone. Its annoying because the video is unwatchable, you can't even make out faces.
the worst part is my iphone 4 did a better job. so far though thats the only thing the iphone was better at.
Im not worried about the bandwidth, I'm on the rogers 6gb promotional plan.
currently the best way i can come up with to share a video is with dropbox. specially considering they just rewarded me with an extra 50gb of storage for free.
heres a pick of the cam app when im taking a video for mms. Im not looking for 720p or anything but a step up from this would make a world of difference.
thats 176x144

It would be nice if I could just edit a file somewhere that would set the mms video size to at least double what it is now.
