If you formated your internal memory you have gone to far
I can tell you that you.should never do that because it.removes important stuff
So get another sd card
Mout sd in cwm (if you.don't know how look it up)
Transfer a rom of your choice
Flash it and it.will restore the full rom

i got another sd card and put a rom on it(tried a couple actually) still get the same message

[Q] Cant mount sd card

So today i rooted my desire, and tried installing the Sense 2.2 HD.
The installation failed and now i cant boot up, get stuck at the white screen with HTC logo. Connected SD card through USB in recovery mode, and formated it multiple times successful into all kinds of formats (fat16, 32, ext2, 3) in both windows and ubuntu.
Now when i try to run the update.zip or any rom file from recovery i get the following error
E:Cant mount /sdcard
(No such file or directory)
or some other problem
Any help would be nice
Moved to Q&A.
Take a look HERE. Hopefully this should sort you out.
I've did a wipe data/factory reset, is it still rooted after that?
Cant get this crap to work. It boots straight into Fastboot usb now. But it wont find the sd card. Its the stock sd with 4 gig. My pc finds it and it works
How do i get my phone to recognize the sd card?
Yes you should still be rooted, a wipe/factory reset won't unroot your handset.
All you need to do is the fastboot command to get your SD card recognised again. If this doesn't help, I'd try a new or different card.
Wow took awhile. Downloaded an RUU and went into fastboot and updated.
All sorted then?

Cant Flash any ROMs Symlink error?

So iIve been trying to flash an updated ROM onto my HTC Incredible and every time the installation has been aborted.
I Started out with Magnolia 1.1.1 Then attempted Incredibly Re-Engineered v2.3 & Myns Warm after that.
All of these Give me (Almost) the exact same error...
With Incredibly Re-Engineered for example I get the following
E:Can't symlink /system/xbin/[
E:Failure at line 15 (Magnolia was line 16 Myn line 12 I think)
symlink busybox SYSTEM:xbin/[
Installation aborted.
Through the last few hours of searching Ive only found a few very off hand remarks about this error, Most saying it was due to partitioning of the system/SD card.
Ive used 2 different SD cards. Same errors. formatted & partitioned SD, wiped everything then rebooted recovery and attempted to install and still get error.
Anyone got an Idea whats going on here? Ive been rooted for going on a year now, Flashing just fine the entire time and this just started happening.
I also cant restore my backup due to an MD5 mismatch... fark me.
any help would be appreciated.

I've had a similar issue after flashing a apps to SD script
It re partitioned my Rom and SD so when I tried to flash a ne Rom it gave me that error, any chance you did the same?
Anyway my fix was a factory reset and all cache wipe, delete Android secure off your SD card. Or if you have spares put a blank SD with the Rom you want and flash. If you still get the issue then try flashing another recovery

I read something about Apps to SD and this issue but didnt really look into it because I haven't messed with that at all.
However now that you mention it I do think one of the ROMs came with apps to SD already executed after flash so I cant exactly say It couldn't have messed with the phone.
Thanks for the help, In the process now of a complete reset, new SD card and see if that does the trick.
One of the things I did read a lot about with this error was people were somehow relating it to Clockwork recovery, and saying clockwork causes lots of these kinds and other issues. (this would be the first for me if it was the culprit)
You mentioned a new recovery and I was curious if this was the reason or if it was just another thing to try out?
Thanks again
Un-fun update.
Did absolutely everything suggested, couldn't get any ROM to install all were a Symlink error at some line usually 15 16 and 12 still.
Also couldn't restore any backup in clockwork and alternative SP I think it was.
Needed to use my phone so I ended up having to unroot and resort back to complete stock... Just got some free time at work and decided to re-root and flash a fresh downloaded ROM from a different comp and clean phone... and TADA!

WTF.... Anyone got any other ideas??

Cannot reboot phone...

PLEASE HELP...I am new to this so I hope it is simple. I recieved instruction on how to flash the SNS v1.3 From this Thread on this site.
Sinister Rom [RLV3]-5/12/11|[! Post what you want to see in version 4 !]
Prior to this I performed a Nandroid Backup after flashing Amon RA from ROM Manager. I wiped everything except for the SD Card and attempted to flash the ROM. After an unsuccessful try I tried to reboot phone and it just keeps going to the Bootloader Screen. I also noticed that the PC36IMG.zip file is not being loaded now. It says that image is not found. I have tried several new PC36IMG.zip files from the site and put them on the root of my SD Card using the USB-MB toggle option and it still says wrong or no image found. WHAT do I do? Don't want my phone to die and be bricked...
HELP PLEASE
I think y oi r problem is you dont have an os, try putting a rom on sd card, on bootloader select recovery and flash zip, then look for rom zip file and flash

Maybe bad download. But, yeah, sounds like you don't have an OS. YOu need to find a good one to flash which should contain everything. Good place to start for noobs would be the new GB leak. It's here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038701
Sounds like you have SD card problem though. Pull the recovery.log using adb:
adb pull /tmp/recovery.log <path on your comp where you want it to go>.txt and post it.
what is adb

You should really know what adb is before you rooted your phone..
Here is Android Debug bridge(ADB)
Now onto your problem. If you have the option try to use a different micro SD or a different way of transferring a rom to your card.
When I transfer a rom to my micro sd via a cheap ebay adapter I receive that same error. But when I transfer right to my phone or through the adapter that came with my phone it works fine.(I have a SD slot on my computer most newer ones do)
THANKS TO EVERYONE!!! Needed to Wipe SD Card, Partition SD CARD, and reflash ROM...WORKING GREAT NOW!!!
Just curious, but why did you feel the need to double post this... .in the same forum, no less?
And good deal getting it fixed....

[Q] Help required... possibly bricked Desire

Hi all, this is my first post, so please be gentle with me.
I'm new to all this rooting and installing a custom ROM, but I've followed the RCMix S V2.0 tutorial (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074700) and has this great ROM running on my Desire for a week.
Earlier today, I turned off my phone and now when it reboots it's stuck on the Alpharev splash screen. If I go into recovery to try and re-install the ROM, it says it cannot mount the SD card. I've tried re-partioning the SD card using GParted, but still no luck.
Please tell me it's not completely broken! Any help gratefully received.
Thanks in advance.
Have you tried a different SD card, if you are using a2sd that can be pretty hard on substandard SD cards.
It does sound like the SD card has gone pop try erasing to default.....

Just tried a different SD card, but still have the same problem :-(
On my screen, I have the following:
CWM-AlphaRev Recovert v2.5.1.8
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
(No such file or directory)
E:Can't mount /sdcard
I've had the same error with two different SD cards.
Also, I forgot to mention on my first post, I cannot talk to the phone through ADB because I can't get USB debugging enabled on the phone because it won't boot up properly.
I'm fearing the worst here, is there any hope?
I've managed to get my Desire up and running again. I got USB access back by following a guide elsewhere on here and that, in turn, allowed me to access the SD card, so I'm back up and running RCMix 2.3.3 Gingersense.
Luckily, I had everything backed up so only a couple of texts from today have been lost.
Phew!!!!
the question is r u still have ur stock rom backup on pc?

sdcard mounting error

Ok, I have the Galaxy S3, Sprint SPH-L710. It was working fine, just wanted to clean off the sdcard to reflash with a new rom... so I noobed it up, plugged the phone in to the computer via usb, entered explorer and deleted all the directories I saw... That was bad.. I rebooted, got stuck at a samsung logo.. finally said screw it and went in to recovery (CWM v5.5.0.4).. tried to just format and recover...I get
-- Wiping data ...
Formatting /data...
Formatting /cache...
Formatting /sd-ext...
Formatting /sdcard/ . android_secure...
Error mounting /sdcard/ . android_secure!
Skipping format...
Data wipe complete.
Now, every time I try and do anything with /sdcard, it gives me an error.
I tried to use the stock rom and flash it via Odin, it passed, everything seems to be fine, but when It reboots, it hangs at the galaxy s3 logo and has done nothing. Hung for over 30 min before I just said screw it and reset the phone, went back in to CWM to see if there was any other way...
any help please?
You try formatting it with your computer? You would need an sdcard adapter.
