Is there any rom yet with the official froyo update? more specifically, I'm waiting for skyraider.

Where have you been...pretty much all the ROMs (except the vanilla ones) are based off the official Froyo OTA.

[Q] How do I upgrade to 2.2 from 2.1 update 1 non-rooted?

I just unrooted my wife's rooted 2.1 update 1 Droid Incredible. I would like to get her up to 2.2 stock. Where can I get the OTA and how do I install it? Thanks.
Look around in the development section. Tons of modded roms and stock.
This link http://db.tt/hArqkSU is the august 2.2 leak. Install it via the typical "update.zip" method. It's the rooted 2.2 stock rom that was leaked in august.
I believe somewhere in xda the very recent leaked stock rom is available.

[Q] How to know a Froyo build's version?

Hi, everybody. Got an unusual question today:
Last wednesday I updated my Defy to Barebones v1.5 (did my SBF backup, don't worry) right from stock Eclair. I'm having ABSOLUTELY no issues with it, but today Motorola released the official Froyo here in Brazil.
Even though I trust my phone's life completely to XDA, I feel safer using an official firmware (if no additional features in custom ROMs tease me).
I can easily downgrade to 2.1 and update to the official ROM, but I have a specific need: 720p recording. With this mod I'm currently able to do so in Barebones, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do so in the official firmware. As shown in the mod's thread, they currently support 3.4.2-117, 3.4.2-145 and 3.4.2-155 build versions.
So, my question is: is there any way I can find out the official firmware's version? If I won't be able to record in 720p (which is a indispensable feature for me, as a future vlogger), I won't update. The update comes as an executable (so I can't look into the ROM's files), so a database of official firmwares would be better.
Thanks in advance,
Gabriel
Bump. Nobody?

I need froyo custom ROM.

Hi,
I need to install froyo based ROM. I want to install Navigon Select but I can't do it on Gingerbread because ProductID isn't generated. So can anyone give me link to older version of any custom ROM like ViVO, LeeDroid or something based on froyo?
Cyanogenmod 6 was based on froyo but, like most froyo ROMs you wont get any updates and probably no support.
Download page: http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=ace
Yes, I know it. But I need it only for second. Navigon doesn't generate ProductID on higher then froyo ROM's. I need it only for generate this number and I will back to MIUI.

gingerbread back to froyo?

hi is there anyway to go back to froyo from gingerbread on stock g2 i used the update from here and i hate all the bugs on gingerbread n will wait for them to get fixed also is there a difference between the update here and ota update?
Downgrading to 2.2 from 2.3 has been discussed extensively, there are threads on this very topic literally a couple posts under yours.
What bugs do you speak of? which "update from here" are you using (aka are you rooted or not?)? Need to be more specific. I haven't heard any noticeable number of complaints about 2.3 OTA stability. Seems extremely stable to me.
If you flashed a pre-rooted OTA it will be the exact same as the OTA as far as stability goes. They're the same ROM, just rooted.
If you're rooted and unhappy with the stability of your current setup, there are several threads in the dev section with pre-rooted OTA ROMs available for flashing. There are also many other extremely stable ROMs based on 2.3 in the dev section.
If you go back to 2.2 to "wait for the bugs to be fixed", you'll never come back to 2.3 because the G2 won't be getting anymore OTA's if I had to bet on it. I'm not sure what "bugs" you speak of, but you're either running a pre-release leaked build with issues, or improperly configured your phone/apps or had a bad flash.

whats the point of waiting for JB?

Hi all,
What is the point of waiting for the official JB to come out by OTA, compared to the JB roms now available on xda (ordroid 7.1.0 for example). Is it more stable because it is from HTC, is there a real benefit?
Which evokes my next question, where do the custom roms get their base from? Is this base the same as the official JB update I have been waiting for?

Click to collapse
Jb roms now works only if you have HBOOT 1.31 and some users are waiting for their compatible firmware to be able to upgrade their HBOOT... The custom roms take their base from RUUs and OTAs
