I plug my phone in, click "Mount as Disk Drive" but my computer won't detect it.
I have USB Debugging enabled, and I just installed the ADB Android USB Drivers.
What are you trying to do? Drag and Drop files to your SD card? Or are you trying to get into ADB?
Have you tried installing unrevoked's drivers?

Hi! all. i'm on Defrost 2.0b. currently got this problem.
when i plug in my desire to my laptop & unmount my SD card, it takes quite a while or can't unmount. then after it unmounts, i go to the shortcut on home screen to press the button which will go into USB storage mode. but the circle loading thing keeps loading & my laptop never seems to detect the phone. although i see a removable disk icon but i can't access it. please help.
also i have market enabler 3.0.8 installed. but not sure how to use anyone can give tutorial?
i dont suppose you are using a mac?
if i disable the disk drive from the phone then the computer is unable to properly eject the phone
you have to eject the phone driver from the computer first and then disable the disk drive from the phone

i'm using Vista Premium version. 2gb RAM. please help. i can't even sync with HTC sync.
sounds to me like a driver problem
go to control panel -> device manager
find your phone and uninstall the driver
disconnect your phone
reboot your computer
do not install htc sync but connect your phone to your computer and wait for the drivers to install
try now
properly enabling disk drive/storage:
connect your phone to your computer
drag down the notification bar and select connection type to disk drive
in 'My Computer' you will now see your memory card
to unmount just change from disk drive to charge and then disconnect phone from computer
hope this helps and sorry for the delay
I am rooted, and I've tried restarting both phone and laptop. Reseated sd card also. I have disk drive selected as default connection. Any ideas? Thanks
have you tried enabling or disabling usb debugging?
Have you tried selecting Mount as disk drive option when plugged into computer? I know my default is Charge only but when i want it to show up, I choose mount it. On my mac it comes up as a drive with "no name" as its name in the finder
I tried usb debugging. It says usb debugging enabled at the top of the evo when I connect it like that, but still cannot see the sd card. I do have "disk drive" selected as my default connection type.
Still can't get it to see the sd card. Is there a way to install a ROM via bluetooth?
Get a usb-microsd reader and mount the phone's sdcard on the mac, if you can't download the rom directly to your sdcard, over 3g/4g.
Did you happen to recently install the newest version of Ilife?
I think thats what did it for me...
Im trying to connect my phone to my computer but when I connect the usb it doesnt allow me to mount the sd card. It just charges but nothing appears in the naotification bar. It used to work fine but now it doesnt let me connect my sd card.
Same problem here, it used to work... but not now. I tryed to uninstall and install again companion but did not solve it
I know that this ain't the solution but you could look into Wifi Syncr as a means to transfer files to your phone.
I can not mount my sd-card with Ubuntu, do I need some drivers and stuff?

When you plug it in, do you get a notification on the phone about USB connection? You need to select mass storage mode. If not you need to update the drivers on your computer.

Connect thru Kies Wifi, after 5 days of trying to make the drivers work , i gave up.... Use Kies or remove the card and read it with a card reader.

Driver issue. Follow these instructions, just change the kindle stuff to yours. It will work. Make sure to update the USB driver in SDK, and check it a second time in the SDK to be sure it updated. And remember to reboot after installing the new driver, it won't work otherwise.

You should also have a setting that says connect to pc on your phone, make sure it is set to prompt.

Earlier today I tried to access my files on my phone connected to my pc via usb and my computer doesn't seem to recognize that a usb device is connected. All it does is just charge the phone. I've tried every port on my PC and still no luck. I have to remove my microsd card from my phone and insert it to my Pc using an adapter in order to transfer files.

Do you have USB debugging disabled?
Also, what OS is your friend using? Unfortunately it seems Samsung has switched the GS3 and GNII to Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) instead of USB Mass Storage (UMS), which is way faster and more compatible than MTP. Some people have issues with their PC not installing drivers for MTP devices, and that may be why you're not able to access your phone from your computer.
