Have rooted Evo and put PC36IMG.zip on phone from RUU_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.26.651.6_Radio_2.15. 00.07.28_NV_1.71_003 and booted phone into fastboot. Phone attempted to install and it was not successful..then I reboot phone and it just goes to hboot everytime...cant flash rom in recovery, can boot into rom.
Any ideas...completely lost at the moment

What are you trying to do?
I'm not sure what your goals were by flashing the PC36IMG you chose too, that is a stock build. Before you do things with your phone, make sure you do aloooooooooooot of reading/forum surfing to make sure you are doing what you want.
Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715915 and download this PC36IMG.zip and then flash that...it will leave you with a a rooted (albeit w/out superuser which you can download separately) 1.47 build (upgrade to current radio/wimax/rom from there)

Is it not loading the PC36IMG.zip at all? Your memory card needs to be an SDHC or it wont load the PC36IMG.zip.

Flashing the file you did will not upgrade your PRI. This is noted in the thread where it is available for download. Flash the PC36IMG from the thread I showed you that should work.

OK I seriously messed up something. All I can do now is get into hboot, but not recovery. Any hope in saving my phone?
Without telling us anything about what you did to get into this state, it's going to be hard helping you get out of it.

What he said, Look for the pb31img.zip that contains a stock build. Copy it to root of SD card, boot phone into Hboot and let the zip run.
should fix all your woes
Ok so i had root and custom rom and all that, then i decided to switch back to the stock with the latest RUU, i already had S off before i did this and i hear you can get clockwork back on again if its off, but uhhhh im a complete newcomer almost when it comes to rooting so how exactly do i do that?
If you follow the directions here, you'll have clockworkmod recovery back: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788306
(I linked to this one because it works on both AMOLED and SLCD screens )
Edit: Flashing via HBOOT is as simple as holding Vol Down while your phone starts up and selecting yes when it asks you if you want to flash PB31IMG.zip (the file you just copied over).
S-off allows your phone to flash any PB31IMG file, while S-on phones check for a signature from HTC. Because of this, I recommend a healthy dose of caution when flashing PB31IMG files, as flashing malicious or corrupt one could spell trouble.

Yes to both, but you'll want to make sure that the file is meant to be flashed from HBOOT before doing so - I'm a bit cloudy beyond this, but try to research for the difference between files that are meant to be flashed in HBOOT and ones that are meant to be flashed in recovery.

search next time and you would have found your answer. and questions DO NOT belong in the development section. that could have been avoided by reading the stickies. which btw, would have lead you right to the thread to unroot. my advice, dont post in this thread again to let it die else you will get flamed back to the stone age.

You tried returning it to stock via a RUU?
If not, that's where you should begin.

Take this file and name it PC36IMG.
Ensure that it's name is PC36IMG and it is a zip file. [Make sure it is NOT named PC36IMG.zip.zip]
Put it on your SDCARD but NOT in any folder.
Restart the phone into the bootloader and accept the update.
See if that fixes the issues or not.
thanx downloading now
Okay, so S-OFF on my phone. I tried to do the forever unroot zip, but that didn't work..so i flashed the stock PC36IMG.zip file. Now the phone doesn't boot at all..it gets stuck at the white htc evo 4g screen. Recovery mode is inaccessible (has the evo with a red triangle). Is there anyway to fix this?
Yes, but need more info from your bootloader, especially your Hoot version and radio numbers.

I don't remember..it was one i had on my computer from when i unrooted my last one. I believe they were the same hboot/radio numbers..

You can't flash that zip, because your HBOOT is a newer version than the one which you're trying to flash. Red triangle, is the recovery, stock recovery. If you push vol up + power, you'll see android recovery system. Try running an RUU of the stock ROM you want.
How do i get my computer to recognize my phone?
Also, how do i flash an RUU if there is no option to do so?

Only way of doing that is from within an operational phone, Android environment. Or via custom recovery. Since yours isn't booting. Boot your bootloader, choose fastboot and flash a custom recovery via cmd prompt. From within the recovery you can mount the phone, turning the SD card in your phone into a flash drive on your computer.

I'm assuming you have Hboot 6.16.1002. In that case you need Captain Throwback's unroot method with the correct PC36IMG files.

Get your phone to that red triangle screen, run the RUU on your desktop (follow steps), connect your phone. Should load the ROM for you. RUU is available here.

Weird that unrevoked s-on didn't work, since you have a compatible radio. You might want to try flashing it again, once you get a custom recovery installed again.

A RUU is an executable file that runs on your computer environment which will push the ROM to your phone via sync cable. RUU= ROM update/upgrade utility.
Must you have S-On, to switch carriers, or do you just need the stock ROM on your phone?

I didn't see that you had clockworkmod as your recovery before. That's probably why it didn't work. I agree with the above; I'd just flash a stock rooted ROM. Just download the PC36IMG.zip for RA-supersonic v2.3 and put it on the root of your sd card (you can take it out of the device and connect it to a computer using a card reader) to flash in bootloader.
My phones touch screen is acting up..and i think it was the rom.
Fastboot > RUU > PC36IMG (hboot 2.16.00001 S-ON) > RUU. Best way in my opinion.
