I can't get a reasonable resolution to this problem, I can't get/download from the market. I've reflashed the device more than a dozen times today, logged in to google successfully, tried multiple fixes, from signing in to talk, to registry edits, many roms, is there a definitive fix for android market problems, basically download doesn't start. I've even trid going back to stock unrooted rom but no success with the market now
check your apn settings, had the same myself and it was because of that

Thanks Chili, it may be that it's a service provider issue here in australia, found similair problems on a local forum, waiting for a reply from Optus

Hi,
Starting this morning, I cannot access Market. Every time I tried to connect, I got error: "Network error has occurred ... Retry ... Cancel?"
However, I don't have any problem accessing the internet. Wifi and mobile data are working fine.
Web browsing works ...
Account sync works (gmail, contacts, calendar) ...
Google Talk login successfully ...
I have tried so far:
* Settings -> Manage Applications -> Market: Clear cache / data
* Reboot the phone
* Waited 2+ hours and see if Google servers have problem
No luck
Anyone has any more ideas except hard-reset?
I am using HTC Desire retail version (non-branded), stock ROM, un-rooted, official 2.2 update.
Thanks for any suggestion
Hi mate. I too am getting the same network error message. It's probably down to an issue with the actual marketplace rather than your phone. Don't do a hard reset. I'm sure it'll be back up soon.
Any other users having this issue?
Edit: just read a similar thread a minute ago on here and yep, the marketplace being down is some sort of global issue. Many can't access it. Google must be aware as Twitter is going wild with the news.
Cheers
Mo

Did you try reading the Desire General forum before creating new thread about the same topic that exists in 2 threads already???
But yes Android market is down for most if not everyone.
Here in GER as well...
(There are other posts around the forum about this, but none apparently directly related to Desire)
I'm using Oxygen 2.0 RC7 ROM with recommended radio, Oxygen HBOOT & S-OFF.
I've tried using the Online Market today, but not having much luck.
The apps I have purchased / installed show up in the market, but I am unable to install any new apps from here with the site claiming: "There are no android phones associated with this account. Please sign in with a different account."
If I check the settings under "My Marketplace Account" no device is detected. The help only has 2 options;
1) Check your account login (done, correct)
2) open the market on the device (done & downloaded an app to be sure) - Still no dice!
Is anyone else having this issue with:
a) the same ROM / setup
b) a different ROM / Setup
Has anyone discovered a workaround?
Has anyone had the same issue with a similar setup but been able to correct it?
Has anyone had NO issues with the same/similar setup?
So many questions...
Appreciate any and all advice
No problems with oxygen, but since it only just launched give it some time. Probably just a bit busy because everybody is trying it out.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I have the same problem, but I'm using Leedroid 2.3d. In "My Account" it only shows paid apps and some free apps, which I have deleted a couple of month ago.
I haven't found a solution anywhere. But it seems others have got this problem too. And it doesn't seem to be related to the Desire or any specific rom.
Yeah, looking at the official blog post announcing the release, it appears this porblem is affecting stock ROMs also.
Waiting game!
similar issue here: LeeDroid 2.3d
I can see apps I installed before I rooted the phone, but no apps after that.
In the settings page I can see my phone and the "Last used" time stamp is today but for all the apps the latest time stamp is on the day I rooted the phone (the 3rd of January).
I opened a ticket with Google.
In the same boat - no devices found

I have exactly the same set up (but I'm with Telstra not Vodaphone).
From device - market access fine - and can even see my purchase history in my gmail account dashboard - www dot google.com/dashboard/
But no matter what I do, no device found on website.
Tried reinstalling oxygen (as I had installed the latest marketplace which isn't part of the standard RC7 release), but no help...
Would love to hear how to fix this!
Well, I don't quite know what to say... but mine...just....started working!
Maybe the roll-out has had some bugs or other issues? I dunno. Just checked back and it saw my device. Tried installing an app and it started pushing to my device immediately.
I guess you'll just need to hold on and be patient?
Cheers, Jeff
Flashed Calkulin's E4GT ROM V2.5, Market worked fine first time I selected "My Apps". Second time I tried, I would get one of the following:
- "Apps and games owned by this account will appear here."
- "Applications and games owned by this account will appear here."
Tried reflashing the ROM
Tried clearing Market Cache and data
Tried Uninstalling/reinstalling
Tried downloading new apps from market (from both PC and device)
Tried syncing AppBrain
Tried Market Doctor in Titanium Backup
None of these resolved the problem.
Here's another thread reporting the issue for the Galaxy S II:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20504383
Any help resolving the issue would be greatly appreciated!
I can't believe there are no other responses to this. it doesn't matter what rom I run, weather it's custom or stock, I see this message and I can't get to my apps. definitely seems like a problem on google's end.

Certainly seems like a Google issue. This is an issue for me on stock and any other custom ROM (with or without Titanium Backup).
Contacted Market support and was told that they couldn't help me if I was on a custom ROM. I told them that I was on stock...so far no reply (it's been 2 weeks).
I did notice that this issue first started after I tried purchasing Read It Later Pro. Market shows that the app was PURCHASED and ready to INSTALL but the transaction never went through. This is when my trouble started. Like I said, so far no acknowledgement or help from Google about the issue.
I'm noticing that the "carrier" field in my Market Account -> Settings is blank (it should say "Sprint".

Anyone else have the same?
Hi Everyone, I have a somewhat unique problem which I have not been able to find on XDA or elsewhere. Since the 4.1.1 update, which I received yesterday, I have not been able to complete any app updates via a data connection (atm I do not have a Wi-fi connection). I am still able to make calls, send SMSs and browse the internet with no issues.
When I attempt to update an app, it will hang at a certain percentage such as the google search app which stalls at 45%. I've tried to update that numerous times but somehow it always hangs at that percentage.
I've tried to clear the cache and all data for any task related to Google Play. Finally I tried a factory reset, but I am still having the same problems; only now I have lost all my apps, and they two cannot finish their re-download to my HTC device.
This is my first thread so just let me know if I have done anything wrong, and I'll try my best to correct it.
Thanks
I think we are on the same CID HTC_023? I have not had any problems with either updating or installing apps from Google Play. You've done what I would have done in you case. Any chance you can connect to a wifi network and try it, at a coffee shop or through a friend?
thanks for the reply

I've been able to download and update apps via Wif-fi at uni. The problem only seems to be with downloading Google Play Store updates and apps via data. I guess the problem must be with my current version of Google Play (the latest) or my carrier
Hi so I have a HTC Desire A8181and finally decided it was time to play about with some of the new firmwares that are out there to give my phone a new lease of life. Firstly I tried an update to 4.0.4 and ran into this problem.
Everything else works fine but I just cannot log into my google account to connect to Play and sync my contacts etc. I get the could not establish a reliable connection to the server error. I can browse the internet fine and have a solid 3G connection. I read through some other forums about changing the host file but this made no difference for me. Also tried turning off the auto date/time but this didn't make any difference also.
After many hours I gave up and assumed it must be something in that ROM. I installed a 4.1.1 ROM and ran into the same issue again!
When I restore back to my original 2.3.3 it works straight away. Checked the host file and it has nothing in there other than the local host.
I am now left on 2.3.3 as I can't get passed this hurdle and hit it with two completley different ROM's
The phone is rooted and has the custom recovery.
Any help would be very much appriciated so I can finally leave 2.3.3!

Thanks for your reply. I tried as you said but still no luck! The web browser works fine just seems to be the apps that can't connect.
Sorted it at last! Turns out once updated to the new firmwares was defaulting to a different APN setting.

So you just changed the APN settings back to the original (2.3.3) and it worked?
