Hi all,
I have the flash that came with the Froyo update on my phone.
But when I open the market I also see the flash for download.
Is there a difference in the too?
When there is an update for flash how do I get it? since the current flash is not being recognized in the market.
BTW the one in the market is newer.

You need to download the flash from the market as this is indeed the update. Once you have done it the market will recognise you have flash and then you will be notified of further updates. It's the same story with the Facebook app.

Hi guys, wondering if someone could tell me how to update clockwork recovery. I have one installed already using unrevocked pm do I just run it again with the updated version??

Update thru ROM Manager
I have Rom manager installed but I don't know how to update with it. If I boot into recovery using Rom manager I get the latest clockwork, but if I reboot the phone holding down the volume down then I get the old clockwork.
How do I update to get the same version no matter how I access clockwork.

When you use rom manager you are using the fake-flash method.
To update it permanently you need to use unrevoked, or fastboot if you have s-off.

I'm guessing it depends on what is in the OTA update that's flashed on top of the existing setup.

Yea but usually if I flash the froyo update a couple of times it gets rid of clockwork mod recovery maybe I need a newer nandroid.
After I get rid of clockworkmod I can usually flash the update again and it removes bootloops.
The nand I've tried with was taken just before the last update. So, no updates missed.
For the future, if there's anyone out there running a rooted upto date Orange handset, please take a nand and share.
Then, when another update comes through, we can try again

I put my old nand on flash the update and all that happens is that it sits on the htc logo after I reboot when the update.zip has finished installing.
Is that with the old update? Not the most recent?

Yea I put the old one on first then kinda update with the next .zip then the bnext one. The 2.17.61.2 update usually removes the clockworkmod recovery.
Does your phone work with the 2.17.61.2 update? Without applying the most recent ota? But still with clockworkmod.

Answered at least a million times.
It doesn't work no matter what you try. My Desire's now back to factory default because I sent it off to be factory reflashed after rooting it and finding no way to install the latest OTA update.
All the threads with people having issues after doing it says something different. Also a Ruu should have worked fine to get latest official rom. Which is the way to go if you don't want a custom rom but do want the latest OTA update.

So I have my phone, and I have a pc. I've got a data plan on my phone, but no tethering because its not rooted. I can't download the official froyo update. Sad sad I know. Is there a way to download it using my phone?
Been waiting for the update forever and when I got the notification that I needed a pc to make it happen, it broke my heart.

(I can put the update on my pc and all after I download it with my phone. Basically just need a link to download that isn't from the HTC site. Need the Update AND the other thing.)

Currently the only known way to install the update is through the PC via HTC Sync.
Ill upload the esprimg.zip and u can flash it it fastboot!

you can go to the htc page from the browser of your phone and download the files, then copy the files to your pc and follow the instructions.
I'm on jellybean, stock rooted, and it asked me to update the software. However I have twrp installed so I cannot do it over the air... Any idea what the update is, or have you gotton it?

I just got it but do not want to install it until i know what it is as is am jellybean rooted with TWRP installed.
Can anyone confirm what the update is as there is no description to the update.
Couldn't be 4.2.2 I don't think.. Maybe though. Or could be an update to try and disable root too.. Can't find any info on the net. I'll try harder later though

Hmm.. No changelog on HTC site, nothing on the Internet about it, I just can't figure it out. Almost want to go and flash stock recovery to figure it out but this is my daily driver and I love having root.. Hmm.

Well--I'm rooted & running JmzTotemJBSense 4.1.2. I got the OTA yesterday evening went ahead & OK'd it this noon...Not sure what it updated, but I saw TWRP come up & I rebooted from there..
software info is:

HTC SDK API level: 4.65
Android version: 4.12
Kernel version: 3.4.10-g504ed01
Baseband version: 1.18.400.00.07_10.68.40.33IL
Build number: 2.21.502.1 CL206584 release-keys
I check for updates now & it looks like the phone was updated---go figure......
Anyone that has got the OTA & not done it---post your info so we can see if it was just a ATT BS update or something "better".....
Since you have twrp, it didn't update anything. You have to have stock recovery to install OTA updates

When prompted, you can postpone the update up to 3 times, and 4 hours per occurrence. Connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot.
To initiate the update manually, go to Settings > AT&T software update > Check for updates.
Tap Continue.

So all they did was enhance the web browser
Is att dumb or what.
How is it they can allocate resources to make a Rom just for the web browser.
When users need real OS Rom updates they are no where to be found
