Was wondering how to calibrate my battery using root privileges. Is there a step by step guide from start to finish for this process? Also, any additional week suggestions like tendering and overlooking? Thanks

Yeah I think the OP is asking for a "step by step" process on how to wipe battery stats all the way to recalibrating it. I could be wrong though...

You need a recovery [root] to wipe battery stats. The best you can do is charge it to 100%, let it fully die so that it manually turns off, then charge it back to 100%.
Thanks will +1 when I get to desktop

Any way to check the batteries capacity w/o root

So I have unbricked my phone and have flashed cm9 and fullthrottle now I'm on the official ics from att. My phone has been dying quickly. I checked my battery stats and seen android OS in my number 2 spot. Today I unplugged my phone and didn't use it for two hrs and it went down 5% I checked and android os stayed away 1 hr and 53 mins.

Same thing on my end. LG really screwed this up.

You need to install the better battery stats app and see which app is giving you wake locks.

Yep, install better battery stat, it's even free for XDA member, search the app forum.

Also, there's a thread called "known identified battery drainers" in the ATT GS2/I777 forums that has some good, universal stuff on interpreting wakelocks.

any luck solving this?
I tried flashing this from 3 times wiping everything and still get the android os taking most of my battery. I tried better battery stats but can really interpret it. I don't have facebook link or instagram. I'll post pics of better battery stats.

I'd suggest disabling stock apps you don't need, I guess. Most people seem to think the battery life on that ROM is decent.
I always disable the att apps that come with the stock from. I get about 10 hrs on medium use with the extended battery. If this was fixed then I would get way more

same issue
I never even thought to check into that as I have also had bad battery life, but figured it was just the nitro. New to rooting LG's as I had samsungs before. I am having the same exact issue running OH!NO! Full Throttle 7.1 and never realized it.. Is it just settings that are not allowing it to sleep?
I have no clue but there is something that is keeping the phone awake and not letting gp to sleep which is really hurting the battery life

i definitely recommend getting juice defender. it made a HUGE difference in my battery life.
I tried it but it didn't help much just turned off the data. The only thing that really helped was to go into app settings and disable android and it has helped some

I have the same issue. Android OS is (or was) the best battery killer. AT&T support person told me to do factory reset AND DO NOT INSTALL any app that are not preinstalled. I have to install them later one by one to find one incompatible with ICS.
After reset operation (happened 2 hours before) I have now Screen as the best battery killer Battery went from 77% down to 62% with some browsing and preinstalled apps update. It looks promising...
As many of you know there's a battery calibration app to use after flashing roms to wipe battery stats and improve battery. Sometimes I use it sometimes I don't... Just wondering if it actually made a big difference but I can never tell. Just thought I'd ask

In my personal experience with the nexus one, htc desire and now the t989, it makes no difference that I can notice
No. It's snake oil.

The battery stats file is essentially a log of what is using your battery. It has no effect on the performance of your battery.

Root using CF-AutoRoot so you still have stock ROM. Then, after you have SuperSU installed and working you start using root tool apps that let you freeze apps you don't use and let you disable wakelocks on the apps you want to keep. Examples: Greenify, System Tuner, Titanium Backup and there are probably many others too that you can try. You may find that google apps are using up a large portion of your battery charge. My S4 battery performance was really poor before, now it is good.

I don't know it this is just happening to me but since recent official upgrade to 4.1.2 my battery consumption has gone way up. I went to bed last night with my phone at 100% , I wake up this morning with phone at about 60% the phone wasn't used at all and I will add it was in"power saving mode" . Any help would be great

If you just upgraded then factory wipe might be needed.

In this case, I would highly recommend using Better Battery Stats to help find the culprit.

Better Battery Stats is an app. You can find it in the XDA forums and install it. You can also find it on the play store for a small fee which helps support the dev.
