Perhaps it's your ISP / WiFi router max speed?
At work my WiFi speed sucks due to location of the AP and my desk in the office...
At home I get fast speeds.

Yeah it's gotta be your isp our router..
I pay for 10m service at my house and I get 10megs down over my phone when I'm on my wifi at home..

I pay for 20MB service at home and I get around 16MB download on my EVO Stock non-rooted with 2 bars WIFI on a WRT54G Linksys Router. Also, make sure when you are doing download tests to test on different platforms/apps because they make a huge difference.

My home wifi i have comcast. I had around 5 before. But now only 1 on download and 5 on upload.

Changing to 3g and 2g

Hey guys I was wondering if y'all knew of an app or trick that will let me switch from my 4g to 3 or 2 in a snap without going through dialing stuff and etc? I want to be able to surf the net using 2g or 3g when I'm not at home. When I'm home I use wifi. Thanks!

Whats wrong? Those are all wifi tests

Notice I said my results should be 30d and 15up.. and that my home non wifi reads correctly.. only my phone shows weird backwards results it seems. Was wondering if anyone else has this issue with the new software or with the app itself. Also my laptop shows 30d 15u.

If your home pc is wired to your router then of course it would tend to be higher. Average wireless speed is slower then wired speed.Try a 5GHz wireles N router and you should see a lot better speeds. Make sure the phone is set to use the 5GHz N protocol.
OK.. so I don't think u guys are reading it correctly..I know wired is faster and I do have a dual n router. There is no way I should be showing 36up load on my service if one I pay for 15max and two my wired and wireless computer only show 15 also.
Phone shows -15down and 36 up ..
Paid servise - 30down 15 up.
Wired connection 30down 15up.
Notice the phone is showing double the upload as I pay for and double what wired shows. Either something is jacked on phone or the app went to crap. If u don't mind test yours and see if the reading is what seems to be backwards on yours.

Those are the fastest uploads I've ever seen! I wouldn't call that a problem I would call it a blessing Try uploading a video (know what size it is) to youtube app and time it. Then do the math and report. Wont be as fast as benchmark because the packets have error correction and such but if it's truly 30 up then you should see at least 20-25up to youtube.
Once i get home ill try one. I think its a bug.. either app or the newest software for gs3.

Try uninstalling the speedtest app and then reinstall. That is odd I've never seen an issue like that before.
Have you tried going to speedtest.net website? You will need a third party browser (for example dolphin) and use a different user agent (PC). Curious to know if its the app itself.

Tried going to browser with ics browser + and when I do PC version it says I don't have correct player installed or what not. Will try a reinstall and see how it goes once I get home.

Try dolphin. And make sure you have flash installed.

That's normal depending on your area and usage / time.. I. E try at midnight vs during the day.
In general you will get faster downloads.. But that's not always the case..
When I'm around my house my uploads are faster.
When I'm at work, 20milea away my downloads are a lot faster

Data loses connection

For some reason when I am loading an internet using app. My signal will go from h+ to just h or 3g and the app or web page wont load. Any idea why this is happening?

Do you get the same issues when you are not on WiFi?

The ping time is up and speed is down on network as well. Lte is not in my area so 4g is all I can test with

Up from?
Ping times on HSPA/+ are typically higher than LTE or WiFi.
Are they noticeably higher than before? It sounds like one thing you have no done is try rebooting your wireless router.
Another option, which I cannot personally confirm works, is tweaking your WiFi settings, specifically power saving mode in regards to the WiFi card in your phone. Make note that this could also lead to more battery drain with extensive WiFi usage (streaming and such).
In your dialer type *#0011#
This will bring you to ServiceMode. Hit Menu and select WiFi. Turn off WIFI Power Save Mode.
I doubt this will help, but you can try it.
Alternatively, you can boot in to Recovery and clear the cache on your phone.

Slow download speeds

I'm on the unlimited data plan and whenever I try to download anything whether it's an app in the play store or a rom my download speeds will be fast initially then slow down to a crawl or it'll just hang. I have 4G LTE and full bars. I'm wondering if it's T-Mobile slowing my download speed because they know it's a large file like asphalt 8 bring downloaded. Anyone have any experiences or ideas? I don't have Wi-Fi unless I'm home and even then where I live I have 4G LTE coverage. Thanks.

I've been getting a lot of latency connecting, its frustrating. Sometimes I have to try several times before it will actually connect too.
