Anybody still running original Telus ROM? - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

If you are still running the original Telus ROM, there is a file I'd really like to get my hands on. It's this:
/etc/SuplRootCert
It's referenced in the original gps.conf file for Telus phones.
SUPL_TLS_HOST=supl.telusmobility.com
SUPL_TLS_CERT=/etc/SuplRootCert
I am hoping it might help with the GPS issues. If you could pull it and post it, I would be very grateful.

[DUMP] /system

If you already have this phone in hand, could you do a favor and drop me some files from /system, namely the video player and any other files/apks possible... RootExplorer might do the job, no root required (at least not on my phone).
Trying to port some apps/drivers, but since i dont own this phone - its proving to be difficult =)
Thanks for the help!
EDIT: Thanks to jimbob343 for /system dump. Hopefully with no objections, here it is:

Deodexed? damn i'm so new to android.. thought i understood wm6.5 (rom building) pretty well.
I've downloaded it three times. Every time I received errors when I tried to unzip it using 7zip - error: Unsupported compression method.
Any suggestions?

downloaded, extracted, no error... must be something on your side
What program are you using to open the file?
7z, probably same as you...

Well... This sucks...
I have downloaded it four times. I have tried WinRar and 7zip and both give the same error messages for all downloads: Unsupported compression method.
I downloaded the Framework and it opened up just fine.
Can someone post a separate d/l link for the dump? Maybe, on another service? Then I'll try again.
@frifox - thanks for your quick replies. Can't imagine what the issue is. MY IS provider has three data transfer rate plans and I'm on the third (second fastest of the four). And, it appeared to d/l pretty quick with no issues/interruptions.
might be good idea to try upgrading 7zip to the latest one... i used the max compression rate when packing the dump.
I'm using 4.65... Are you using the 9.15 beta?

Desktop UAstring & SMS for VZW 3G Honeycomb 3.1

Since Sangreal06 hasn't update his thread yet, so I'm making a new thread to let people know.. Thanks to sangreal06 for sharing his knowledge to me.. nice guy
I de-compile this framework using Sangreal06 HoneyTool, and edit the string as what Sangreal06 edit on 3.0.1 framework, I keep the graphics and animation as stock.. no changes ..
so here u go
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/11048289/JawsMIUI/framework-res.apk
the steps exactly the same as in Sangreal06 thread, just copy and paste it or adb push to /system/framework then reboot
do it on your own risk.. thank you..

You sure about that? This file only has English and Spanish. US WiFi Xoom should be EN/ES/FR
edit: Guessing you updated using BRD's method? In that case you can probably just use the 3G file. This also explains why people are getting errors with the WiFi file
Can someone tell me which files I have modify to do the UA hack? I have the files extracted with honeytool.

[Q] Default build.prop value for ro.product.model and ro.product.?

I modified my build.prop to try and get Netflix to work, which failed. (Sadface.) Today I noticed that Swype has stopped working, searching on the error message it looks like yeah, it also checks ro.product.model or ro.product.manufacturer to make sure you've got the right phone for the version.
Anyways, like an idiot I accidentally deleted my backup build.prop. Turns out even a factory reset doesn't replace that file. So! I was hoping someone had a backed up unmodified build.prop and could quickly tell me what those two lines (ro.product.model and ro.product.manufacturer) read.
Thanks!

4.2.2 on VZW GN with 4G/CDMA

Morning managed to get 4.2.2 from the gsm version of galaxy nexus working on my vzw galaxy by changing the build prop and adding and deleting some files in the lib folder and adding and deleting xml's for the vpn.. the 4.2.2 I flashed isn't mine so I take no credit for it just used it to flash because it was deoxeded and rooted already... it was zipped by bigxie (bigxie_magurTA_JDQ39-signed.zip) just look in the gsm galaxy nexus thread. Flashed rom first then flashed current vzw radios and then moded files and set permissons. The files were:
sys-Vendor-lib" libsec-ril_lte.so from 4.2.1 and deleted libsec-ril.so from "lib"
"ECT" apns-conf.xml from 4.2.1 and deleted the original file
"ECT--PERMISSIONS" com.vzw.hardware.lte.xml from 4.2.1 and com.vzw.hardware.ehrpd.xml and deleted com.hardware.telephony.gsm.xml
Modded Build.prop for cdma and lte...(there wasn't to many but not gonna list them all)
wiped cache and dalvik and now have a strong 4G signal and fast data...not a developer here at all, just tried to figure out how to get lte and vpn on 4.2.2 so sorry for bad post...good luck..
Mwalt2 did a complete mod in zip form with bigxie rom that is a smoother and grabs signals better and no messing with permissions and everything like that so way easier...here is the link

There are a few other things that will need changed. I'd think that your GPS and WiFi aren't going to work well or at all. I've posted a list of CDMA files that need to be included on this forum before and I think in the q&a gnex forum (search there first for posts by me and see of you can find it...I would but won't be on a PC for awhile).

they would be set rw-r-r correct?

yes the permission are set rw-r-r or 644 and it was kind of easy you just have to get lte/cdma files in the lib or ect so the rom knows to look for lte or cdma and not gsm...all they are are xml files and just have to add a bunch of ro.cdma and change the name in build prop..i was actually surprised how easy it was when the baseband showed correct and I got a blue 4g signal

no...I did flash the GSM 4.2.2 on my CDMA VZW GN, there is NO GSM RADIO IMAGE on the 4.2.2 GSM ROM the dev removed it.. so there is not damage to the CDMA GN... so you are just flashing a ROM meant to pick up GSM, all you have to do is replace the files so the rom picks up lte/cdma...and all they are are xml files and one .so file and the build prop to tell the phone where to look...thats all...it was actually really easy

the only way i figured it out was to look at the build prop especially the RIL lines..they give the exact file that needs to be replaced
ex. on the gsm: rild.libpath=/vendor/lib/libsec-ril.so libsec-ril.so is the driver the rom is looking for
I replaced the file in the "lib" folder and build.prop line with rild.libpath=/vendor/lib/libsec-ril_lte.so so the rom will now look for the lte driver
make sure the "telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice" line equals 1 it tells the phone that it is a lte/cdma device..if there is a 0 the phone thinks it is a gsm device
also don't forget to set permissions as rw-r-r as they are in screenshots and to delete out the gsm files ...they aren't named the same so there is no overwrite or replace.. you have to delete them. I don't know how sprint files and radios are setup though but I hope this helps...
You guys may as well replace the files in the gsm zip before flashing it and save yourselves some time. There's no reason to do it after unless you just like using a file explorer on your phone. Also, an easy way to see what is different is to compare CM roms for the gnex.

[OFFICIAL THREAD] Getting the LG QRemote from 5.0 Korean update working on AOSP 5.x

I have the necessary APKs and other files to make a flashable zip, however whenever I try to flash it it succeeds but when I click on quickremote, the app force closes on me and will not load. First is why I asked about density. Try it out with stock density of the G3
2nd: Those are the patha I'd go diggin. Maybe gonna explain a bit closer/have a closer look tomorrow. Got to sleep now.^^
Amything new here? Have you already searched in the fokders I "mentioned"?
I'm back and trying to get this working once more. It is so odd that the way they got this working on the G2 and G3 does not work on ours. It makes me think that the stock LG ROM with lollipop for the G Pro is just a bunch of hacks LG threw into a zip file which just makes this even more difficult. I'm not going to give up yet though. If anyone else has any suggestions please PM me. I would gladly appreciate more ideas.

I am pretty sure the odex files are generated when the ROM is installed. This means I need to have someone who has the ROM working to get them to me.. The zip only has the files from the system partition.
