I have a question, might be a dumb question, who knows.
Well here it is, when you go into application management and then into running app. What are the consequences when you hit clear cache or hit clear data or forces close? Thanks in advance everyone.

All depends on what app and whether or not you are on a stock rom. Some apps are supposed to run. Just so we're totally clear you are talking about running apps and not running systems tab right?
I'm running a stock evo, not rooted. And yes I mean running apps also download apps not system apps. And thank you for the quick reply.

Hi guys my 2nd post here. Just updated my phone to 2.2 and was wondering if I should bother using task killer anymore. Someone told me that I don't really need to on 2.2. What are your suggestions since you guys seriously have answers to everything. Thank you.

task killers do more bad than good
You would be better off using a task PREVENTER like "autostarts" if you want to keep open processes down
Froyo won't allow them to kill the app. Only background data. So essentially they are useless with Froyo.

Something that is really ticking me off after I updated my phone to 4.24, is that most of the time when i go into any app , and go back to the home page, the white and green HTC logo pops up and sense loads all over again ! Anyone else having this bug?

My phone just started doing that, it seemed to happen right after installing Google Plus. Do you have Google Plus installed?
I suggest backing up ur SD card and formating it and doing a fresh install of Rom. That's what worked for me.

He's on the stock unrooted (and unrootable) rom. Backing up everything isn't really possible. His only option along those lines would be a hard reset with some data loss (of course most of the big things can be backed up or synced). If I were in that situation, I'd want to try other things first.
LiL xSOULJAx, it sounds like you're running low on memory. When you go into another app, it's killing the launcher, so it has to restart when you press the home button. If you're talking about this happening when you go into a game or something that probably does take a lot of memory itself, there's not much you can do. But if it happens with every app, even relatively simple ones, you should check under Applications -> Manage -> Running and see if there's anything running in the background that takes a lot of memory. If you see something hungry you can live without, try uninstalling it.
Thanks alot for the info ! Yes i do have google plus but im about to uninstall alot of apps and see if it helps , thanks again

Here is a lot of info, that will show that a factory reset helps some, but the awaited update will be the only resolution, That is if they don't screw it up also:

Well now my issue is all over since they I rooted yesterday ! Its amazing how fun rooting is lol, the whole process is mindblowing !
Are you running a task killer? If you end up killing the calendar app that's running in the background, it will reboot sense like 50 percent of the time.

I just got an epic 4g that was rooted with gingerbread preinstalled. And I keep getting google frame work crashed unexpectedly. I wonder of its my ROM I am using. Is there something else I should try before I try a new ROM. And I don't know what ROM he has on here. But he did give me clock work with multiple roms to try. I just have to learn how to use it. But if my problem could be something else that is resort to do then leery me know thanks. Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
You need Titanium Backup. In that scroll down to Google Framework Services, click it and hit clear data. Then you should find and flash the reenble journal zip.

I love my gn but this one thing really bothers me!
Im a heavy talker, i use the phone app more then any other app
when Im not in the phone app, android caches it so i can get back quickly later
but if im doing something that take memory like browser/youtube/facebook android just clear the phone app from cache (ive tested that with the built-in app manager)
then when i go back to lets say, call log, it takes 2 sec to load + scrolling down the list lags so much! (when i reach down the list, android caches is back again so everything is smooth now)
any way of forcing it to stay cached? i found lots of apps in the market to clear cache, not one app of doing the other way around?

Whenever you are done using an app that's not the Phone app, just use the built-in app switcher to close that app (swipe the app off the list to close it). That way, the phone app won't get bumped out of memory.
Uhhhh..that doesn't close anything, just clears it from the list.

I thought that too.. it seems to close fruit ninja.. the browser... so I assume it closes apps.

I don't have the phone yet, but in the emulator, it is able to close any app that's not running a service.
Almost a month later, few custom roms and kernels but its still buggs me, does anyone but me have this? Is there something i can do about it?

Swiping from the recent apps list is the same as closing an app with the back button.

So I Odined the new full stock ROM, cleared data/cache to start over fresh, bone stock. Now when I disable apps from the settings/applications menu, they used disappear from the apps list. Now in there place is a generic picture for all the disabled apps with the app name. I hit them and they just say app not found, or something like that.
Anyone else run in to this?
This is what Im talking about.

Press menu while in app drawer and then hide apps. That should remove them from the drawer.

Thanks, I realise I can do that, Im just wondering if its caused by the new update, or if its something with my phone itself.
If anyone has a few minutes to kill, and you've updated and stock, not rooted or anything with a lot of apps disabled, would you mind enabling them all, then rebooting the phone, and disabling them again? I know it's a PITA, so thank you very much.
I'm kinda new to Touchwiz, so I don't know if this would have any side effects, but you could try to clear data for the launcher then reboot.
