will this work on an HTC Desire with Sense? Or do we need to root? All the correspondence so far suggests Sense and Bluetooth keyboards incompatible

i thought this too - similar to the wii remote doesn't work with sense phones

Yet another good reason to root!

Any apps allow you to use Desire as remote for ps3?

Hi folks, maybe wrong forum to ask.. but are there any apps that let you use the Desire as a remote for the ps3?
Cheers,
Mick
I've also been looking for something like this. Alternatively I'd love to be able to use the phone as a small Bluetooth keyboard for my HTPC. (as a full BT keyboard, not some kind of VNC solution)

How to connect mini bluetooh keyboard to Desire Froyo

This is for those who are having problems connecting Desire with a Bluetooth Keyboard, in my case a Chinese mini Bluetooth keyboard (model PA-BK03- $ 27.00).
Things you need:
1) Rooted Desire (in my case OpenDesire 1.3b)
2) 3 files (hidd, hcitool and hciconfig) from code google
3) Recovery console (unrevoked for example)
4) And a Bluetooth keyboard…
The basic principle is to copy these 3 files to /system/xbin and set the permissions to 755, and than, after you enable Bluetooth on the phone and on the device, run the follow command:
#hcitool scan
Scanning ...
DC:2C:26:B3:C6:46 Bluetooth Mini Keyboard
Than
# hidd --connect DC:2C:26:B3:C6:46 (use your own MAC Address)
After it, you mini keyboard will stop blinking the blue led….TADA….is done!
I just cook the blu_sign.zip that contains the 3 files…you can use your recovery console apply it. And I recommend to use gscript lite to write the “hidd --connect” command and shortcut it in your home screen.
All the credits goes to…. Erin at i-miss-erin blogspot
And please I’m not a developer just curious and I hope that some noble developer make an fancy apk better than this.

hi may I know where you bought this keyboard? ebay?

Would it be possible to pair a BT mouse this way, too?
Hi that's very interesting, will this method help with connecting other bluetooth devices? ps3 controller perhaps... or the wii one which apparently wont work with htc sense..
hup Holland hup
The ps3 controller isn't a hid device, but afaik a wii nunchuck is.
They did get ps3 controllers working on PC though , so it might be possible.
That keyboard looks nice btw. If it had one of them weird nipple things that old laptops used as a mouse I'd deffinately invest in one.
S60mike, I just connect my mighty mouse from apple and guess what...its working. Amazing for some games
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
When i try to pair my apple magic mouse it shows:
Can't create HID control channel: Connection refused
Where can/must I enter 0000 as pairing-code? Isn't this required? Now I try my Apple BT Keyboard
When I enter hidd command android popup to enter mighty mouse code. Try first at android bluetooth setting.

Great Work !
Thanks
According to the keyboard on dealextreme, it supports android apparently.... I would have said it was out of the box support
Tried a couple times with my foldable keyboard from Palm,, it keeps telling me that "stderr: Device is not available: No such device"

Got a Nexus One here.
There is a major internal difference between the two and three battery keyboards, with many saying the three battery keyboard works better.
Well that's good news for me as I have the 3 battery! But not had any luck yet. Tried on a rooted rom but got device not found on hciconfig. So running stock again for now.
Does anyone know if Froyo will make it any easier and is it impossible to run hidd un-rooted?

[Q] Bluetooth NDK support (for WiiMote)

Hello,
I would like to have full Bluetooth support with the HTC Desire and other HTC Sense roms. I have tried the normal NDK hack where you install some so files and headers but all the functions return -1 . I have been trying to find a solution but on the web but nothing...
Then I tried to strace the settings app so that I can find a working kernel call but nothing! If someone wants to help me or just suggest ideas please reply. I believe many developers want this.
My ultimate goal is to connect to the WiiMote. Also I wonder if the opposite is possible: using the phone as a WiiMote to play Wii (the motion sensors are already there....)
Thank you very much
Fingers crossed this works out. Really want my controller working. good luck with this

I was just wondering if any more progress is gonna be made on HTC Sense devices. I know there were issues with the Bluetooth stack on those devices, but HTC has published the BlueZ source code for those devices on their developer website now.

rSAP protocol development

Hello,
the rSAP protocol is missing both from Android 2.1 and 2.2
Is this something which can be developed by you (as an app or protocol)?
I remember on my WM6.1 is was something I had to upload as well. Donations I believe would be given by many ...
Nobody able doint this ?
Not sap but have you tried the htc navi (car) panel

Hi Alex,
I just tried and it does not work. Continues to say that desire is not compatible. Why do you believe htc navipanel should be a solution? Does it offer different protocols?
Regards, Didi
What does Navipanel have to do with rsap protocol?
I'm waiting for rsap on Android to switch from Touch HD.
I would do anything to have rSAP too - but the problem seems to be, that the Bluetooth-Stack is no open source on android. So nobody can develop something.
The only thing you can do, is make a star here: code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=4402 for rSAP (as I did ) and get as many people you can get to make a star there too.
sorry, what does rSAP stand for?

Remote sim access profile. It works via bluetooth.
hxxp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth_profile#SIM_Access_Profile_.28SAP.2C_SIM.2C_rSAP.29a
any news? Did anyone try to post request on some other android developers forum?
I am frustrated that the rSAP is not supported, can't imagine that such hi-tech device does not support the protocol that is used by millions of cars!
Regards.

Bluetooth rSAP (Remote SIM Access Profile) support in Android/Desire

Is there a way to get this Bluetooth service cooked in ROMs?
I cannot pair the Desire with my car: it needs this rSAP service.

As far as we know, there is no solution to this yet. Samsung has managed to get it to work in their Galaxy, but I don't know if it's portable.
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=4402
I wonder if it won't be possible to implement
bit(dot)ly/a7DbL8
in android?
Because it seems, they already implemented everything, needed to use rSap and other features?!
That's what I am hoping... that someone will implement it on desire. Wouldn't want to change the phone, but it's easier (cheaper) to do this than to change the car...
