rSAP protocol development - Desire General

Hello,
the rSAP protocol is missing both from Android 2.1 and 2.2
Is this something which can be developed by you (as an app or protocol)?
I remember on my WM6.1 is was something I had to upload as well. Donations I believe would be given by many ...

Nobody able doint this ?

Not sap but have you tried the htc navi (car) panel

Hi Alex,
I just tried and it does not work. Continues to say that desire is not compatible. Why do you believe htc navipanel should be a solution? Does it offer different protocols?
Regards, Didi

What does Navipanel have to do with rsap protocol?
I'm waiting for rsap on Android to switch from Touch HD.

I would do anything to have rSAP too - but the problem seems to be, that the Bluetooth-Stack is no open source on android. So nobody can develop something.
The only thing you can do, is make a star here: code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=4402 for rSAP (as I did ) and get as many people you can get to make a star there too.

sorry, what does rSAP stand for?

Remote sim access profile. It works via bluetooth.
hxxp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth_profile#SIM_Access_Profile_.28SAP.2C_SIM.2C_rSAP.29a

any news? Did anyone try to post request on some other android developers forum?
I am frustrated that the rSAP is not supported, can't imagine that such hi-tech device does not support the protocol that is used by millions of cars!
Regards.

SIP client in WM6

Hello all,
I'm a new user to the WM XDA Live 0.20 OS.
I flashed it yesterday and it's working brilliantly.
I had one question about a new feature that should be in WM6.
I read reports and messages that there should be a SIP client build into WM6
I read on Kyphur's thread (first post with all the in's and out's of his OS) that 'Internet Calling' isn't at all ready and included in WM6.
has anyone more info for me about this?
And when I need SIP client for my WM6, what are the experiences and reccomendations from the users here?
thanks.
btw. I think Kyphur (and the team) are doing a perfect job....
Hey,
a working SIP Client in one of the next XDA Lives Releases would be fantastic

Until the Native WM6 works, I am using SJPhone
.
Just to expand on the WM6 SIP Client.
At this point in time it is an incomplete product. There does not exist any configuration tools for it and even though there are a couple of .dlls we can't really confirm that they do to much at this point.
I decided not to include it because it they ever complete it we can always add it with a Cab file.
Kyphur, can you create the cab file? A few people with your Rom would like to assist in trying to get it to work and they have been asking how to enable it.
Thanks
The VoIP installer cab that I did can be found here
I got lower latency using x-lite v2.22 than sjphone. It is also not as resource-hungry as sjphone. Might be hard to find as i think it is discontinued but its out there ;-)
Hey, do you a have link for the v2.22?
I just can find v1.0
http://rs26.rapidshare.com/files/11745634/X-Pro_Softphone_for_Pocket_PC_2.2.2.rar
Thanks!
You really made my day
X-Lite won't work, but for some reason this Version works great.
Do you know how i can use a BT Headset with this?
Because right now it uses the speaker for the calls.
Where can i configure the sip settings when i installed the wm6 voip thing?

[Q] Bluetooth NDK support (for WiiMote)

Hello,
I would like to have full Bluetooth support with the HTC Desire and other HTC Sense roms. I have tried the normal NDK hack where you install some so files and headers but all the functions return -1 . I have been trying to find a solution but on the web but nothing...
Then I tried to strace the settings app so that I can find a working kernel call but nothing! If someone wants to help me or just suggest ideas please reply. I believe many developers want this.
My ultimate goal is to connect to the WiiMote. Also I wonder if the opposite is possible: using the phone as a WiiMote to play Wii (the motion sensors are already there....)
Thank you very much
Fingers crossed this works out. Really want my controller working. good luck with this

I was just wondering if any more progress is gonna be made on HTC Sense devices. I know there were issues with the Bluetooth stack on those devices, but HTC has published the BlueZ source code for those devices on their developer website now.

Bluetooth rSAP (Remote SIM Access Profile) support in Android/Desire

Is there a way to get this Bluetooth service cooked in ROMs?
I cannot pair the Desire with my car: it needs this rSAP service.

As far as we know, there is no solution to this yet. Samsung has managed to get it to work in their Galaxy, but I don't know if it's portable.
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=4402
I wonder if it won't be possible to implement
bit(dot)ly/a7DbL8
in android?
Because it seems, they already implemented everything, needed to use rSap and other features?!
That's what I am hoping... that someone will implement it on desire. Wouldn't want to change the phone, but it's easier (cheaper) to do this than to change the car...

[Q] [Question] TMC via FM-Radio

Hi everybody, as I sadly have no programming skills I was wondering if sombody is thinking about a Project to implement TMC via FM-Radio for our desires. I know that there are similar Projects for windows mobile but sadly I think the development has stopped and support for android isn't given.
It would be great to use fm - tmc with navigon.
Thanks for any replies

The Question is: Is it worth it since we have Dataconnection on Desire
Defenetly, it would be great not to have to use the internet connection - if you are in some different country for example
What's TMC?

rSAP

Hello there got a few questions.
My good old Desire HD is at the edge of its limits, so i am thinking about getting a HTC One M8. I Don't think it has rSAP out of the box (cause htc never had that before),right?
So i've seen alot of people asking the same question as me in the android-rsap forum: Does the rSAP App work on the M8? Is there anyone that tried it? Or could any1 of you rooted guys try it out?(There is a trial Version of the app,you don't need to buy it, and the root-needing-app is the rsap Installation App)
For this app, only root is needed, everything else can be stock (which i also intend to do in case i get this phone).
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in Advance
Edit: i dont know how i could forget that, but ofc you need a rsap compatible car to test it. Those that have one know it,but still some examples: the premium free talking from Vw (Skoda,Seat,Audi,Porsche), Mercedes, some Opel and maybe some more cars.
So much people on xda and no one has the combination rSAP car + HTC One M8 ?

Personally I have an in car unit which I use with this phone.
What you are asking is with regard to a very specific in car setup which is why you are not getting responses. Have you asked on the rsap site forum?

No idea about that app, but my HTC One M8 has no issues natively communicating with my Passat TDI r/SAP enabled premium system.

Yes, there is an active thread with ppl thinking about buying a M8 (like me),but no one that already has + root.
Very specific? well, as i said, xda has _millions_ of users, and the rsap profile is not that limited on cars(VW Premium, Audi SAP adapter, Nokia 610/616, Opel, Mercedes SAP V3,Porsche PCM, Mercedes SAP V2, Audi built-in, VW Premium (Golf 7) ),i just didnt expect the chance to be _that_ low

which model year is your Passat? Are you sure you are connected via rSAP and not HPF or A2DP? it is not common for HTC to bring the rSAP protocol "out of the box". and the new premium systems (starting with 3C8 035 730A and 5N0 035 730D) support that.
but thanks for the reply , both of you
For any1who is interested: rSAP has been confirmed working on the M8, tested with Porsche and Audi rSAP systems. It is important to check the "recovery installation" box, just like for the M7. For more information visit the homepage and forum www.android-rsap.com

I have a new HTC One M8 and rSAP bluetooth in Golf R, I find that calls and phonebook work fine, but no text or data ability? Anybody help with this?
Cheers....
Hey, i think i can give you some input:
First of all, the built date of your car is important, because the version of the pfse differs pretty much. Old ones from 2006-2009 only support rSAP,between 2010 and 2013 also hfp(for iphones and stuff) and a2dp (audio streaming), and only the newest ones have integrated 3G Support, which will be used inside the car via WLAN hotspot (since the car takes over your whole SIM card, there is no other way).
the PFSE you are searching for is the 3C8 035 730 D (or E), and will only be in the car "out of the box" at built date 2013 or younger.
i just upgraded my car to the new version, thats why i know it . it even reads your sms, if you want to
btw: Android L on the m8 still has rSAP support, yay
greetings, Lamensis
Works on 5.0 ?
Hello Lamensis,
Can you confirm that RSAP works on Lollipop, since I heard Google dropped RSAP support in 5.0 ?
Could you post:
- exact version of Lollipop ?
- rooted or not ?
- chipset model (run AnTuTu), is it a Qualcomm Snapdragon if so which version ?
- baseband software version ?
I have an LG G3, A5.0.1 20d, but RSAP doesn't work. Now i don't now it this is: LG (software) or Google (software) or Qualcomm baseband modem (hardware, i have heard Quallcomm has blocked RSAP access in latest chips)
NOTE: i have the latest VW hardware. 3G & WIFI access point works with my wife's 10-year old Nokia C6-00, but not with my brand new LG G3 ....GRRRR !
Thanks,
GN

Hi. Yes,rsap still works on Android L,although i lost the menu where i could disable the remote sim access(which i never plan to do anyway).
Currently im on Android 5.0.1,unrooted, qualcomm snapdragon MSM8974AB,baseband 1.25.214500021.06G_20.68.4196t.01_F
I am using the VW premium fse 3C8 035 730D
I hope thats everything you need. Good luck.
Same here. Software 4.16.401.10 works great with Volkswagen premium, model year 2010. I just disabled pin code, as after every disconnect the phone required new unlock of the sim card. Even SMS transfer works better than it did on the old Nokia c7-00 and 701.
I installed Bluetooth phone book, because numbers did not update properly, but know it is perfect.
I tried GPE edition, but had no luck, even with rsap app from play store.
yeah, the "Auto-pin" function went away due to the Android 5 update. On 4.4 KitKat, it was the same until HTC brought a patch, then the phone did not ask for pin after getting out of the car. I hoped HTC would repatch this after a while again in Android 5 ... but so far nothing happened.
