I been playing with boot an pda roms of 480 and 4800 on my i780
You can flash bootloader from 480/4800 to i780 and wise versa without bricking.
So if you flash i780 bootloader and one of my roms its gonna work with some glitches - camera and gsm, if you like any i can do it fore 480 then.

_Rom 6.5 96pdi ver1.7 (newest I found)
_Eboot for M480
_Phone upgrade for M480
_Tool upgrade for M480 (likely i780's Mirage tool use rom file .bin but this tool use rom file *.pda)
When I try flash with i780's rom + eboot + phone >> my m480 can't start
These files I have found after I lost a week to find on Korean's websites but the rom's cooked by a guy from Chinese !!! (thanks for Google translator ! )
And I flash my m480 with these file, it's working normally until now

Well I have ported my rom to m4800 rom. Used english as default also i780 keyboard and i907 mouse fix.
I dunno what issues it has, cos my hardware is different
Camera for me wont launch-gives an error =( If I press number key on homescreen phone hangs..battery shows or full or low i hope its hardware issue.. ah almost forgot I have no network too on it )

_the sound when the phone start or off is very loudly, i'm serious, it makes me scare (now in Vietnam is 11h:30 pm)

This rom is based on Epix wm65 update. Including best applications from Epix, m4800, i780 and fixed drivers. this
About camera I cant do nothing it has corean codded in, i780 app will not work with.
Hanging only can try to cook again with different apps/drivers some other time, cos I need to flash 480 boot again etc..
Just try to follow what can accure to hang the phone.
If I build original keyboard from m480, then it will not work in US Windowsd, thats for sure, its designed to work with 0412 system langauge.
So m480 is quite crap in this.

Well, i couldn't control the curiosity. i extracted the nbo file put in the root of my microSD card, pressed camera button and pressed reset button together but i couldn't get the update start. is there any other thing i need to do?

Upgraded. Memory management seems better even with the Asus "X" task closer app. Need to test further as well. Noticed the SIP app is Russian. No big deal though.
Question how do we revert back as I noticed this ROM doesn't have an extended ROM

I noticed the following problem:
Threaded SMS works but if you do a soft reset you lose all your messages. Has anyone experienced this ?

Well i tried WM 6.1 for a couple of days. Here is my findings.
Threaded SMS is nice, but its very slow to load an conversation even with a few messages in it.
i don't know its me or always like that. memory leak is more than WM6.
i am a heavy sms user so couldn't stand the slowness in loading. so i had revert back to Sorg custom ROM based on WM6 itself. Even though threre is no threaded sms i think i can live with the smart search facility in sms message.
My heartly thanks for Alex in helping me in upgrade procedure.

You can do it back by use the official rom update method
-download the official rom from asus website.
-format your micro SD with FAT
-copy the download file to Micro SD
- Do the Force boot mode or hard reset
The official Rom will replace the one you have installed.
So you will have the ASUS rom now on.

well, i don't have a kingdom but i will give my everlasting thanks for the one who can help.
i am looking for a stable ROM for my I780, phone and PDA.
i need something without RealVGA so EFN and Vibrenza cannot work.
i tried:
1. i780MSHC3_UKENG
2. i780DXHD1_PDA
3. i780MirageDXHH1
4. i780_SNv5C3MD
5. i780DXHC4
at most of them after installing Seven (OWA push mail), language support (hebrew) and maybe SPB mobile shell they usually stop responding.
people are calling me and there is no answer, the device wont cold start, about 50% of booting after SR that are just stuck and i need to SR again or take out the battery, after a night charge there are about 40% of the times where the device is stuck and i need to SR.
i am looking for the original WWE ROM from sansung, even 6.0 is good - anything to get me working without SR 5 times a day.

I don't know why you can't use realvga, but the purpose of realvga is to convert the screen resolution from 128dpi to 96dpi, so the 128dpi is the original non realvga version.
i cannot use the realVGA since i have some software that cannot use it.
i will try to use the italian rom and see what happens.
The 128 dpi version doenst use realvga.. it only has 128 dpi files right.
I think you should try it, because realvga isnt installed on the 128 dpi.
what harm can it do, make a backup and try : )
Personnaly, I have a french i780 with the original rom + realvga & it works really well in 96 or 128 dpi ! no issue
Realvga only work on WM6 core, EFN 5X roms are based on WM6.1 core, so no Realvga inside, you should try it.
the problem is with the hebrew language enabler..
all middle eastern language enablers (arabic,hebrew etc..) mostly tend to crash cooked roms and make them non responsive although the phone part would be working..ie you would receive a call and not know even that the phone received it...
solution...
test carefully what software you use for localization..
so i would work with a rom that is not cooked.

Great job hdubli! Although I am not able to help test it (phone still in SC), I am thankful that u release this ROM pretty fast.
Another question on the processor. I noted that the 2nd image says the Processor is Qualcomm MSM7200A, whereas the one I have (or use to have) is a 7201A. The Asus website states that it uses the 7201A also. Can you confirm that it is really 7200A (even with other ROM, original ROM)?
Now I wonder if Asus ship out different processors variants to different regions. I know that the 7200A can take full VGA video shots and playback MP4 @ vga far better that the 7201A which only records in QVGA mode and lags like molasses in VGA playback (unless the bitrate is <500kbits/sec). The 7201A is a crippled edition of the 7200A so that it does not infringe on patents that the 7200A is using for VGA playback and recording. And the patent is only valid in the US. Logically speaking, except for the US market, the P835 ought to be using the 7200A.
As for comparison, a friend of mine uses his Touch HD (with 7201A) and compared it to the new Diamond (7200A) for video shoots. Diamond wins hands down. The 7201A video is really bad.

Is not urgent.......but you can upload the MSY once you free.
This is because i need to keep the stock MYS rom for any uncertain call back from this phones.
The WM6.5 rom is good but got 2 errors occur.
1. battery indicator not function.
2. shdesk.exe error---> can be delete from startup in window search for multihome and delete it.
All the error is minor only.
Your picture show in asus.forumpro.eu on the extended rom is unknown
But my Extended Rom is v2.2.0 IND00.
Conclusion, the phone running stable and fast...............
I stress out the wm6.5 for 2 hours.......

I had earlier made the version in which ext rom was stopped from installation, but later I read the feedback about the lite ROM and got to know that language ID is very important.Since I use base as India ROM the ext rom version is IND, but I can upload MSY ROM do not worry u can go back to stock ROM whenever u want...may b in a day or two or max by weekend i can do

Hi, The rom work perfectly with me.
Yes..there is a shdesk file can't be regonized and i am trying to remove it now. However, I can't reply any SMS message. Could any one help?
Moreover, I did installed the Chinese Langurage Pack. It can show Chinese character without problem!
