I have one annoying issue with using the stock android roms that are out for the desire - I can't send / receive MMS.
I am on o2 UK (prepay), and the odd thing is that on sense roms MMS works fine. I have tried the same APN settings in cyanogenmod/opendesire and no luck.
Other people on different networks seem to have no problem. Does anyone else have this issue or could tell me how to solve it?
I can't send mms either did you ever find a way to get this working?
Yeah MMS on AOSP based roms seems to be a bit of an issue, however, I did manage to solve the problem like this.

did this work for you? im having the same trouble on vodafone and also had this problem when i was with t mobile. still cant solve it even with all the settings.
can recieve and use the internet fine though.
As always the problem with a NEW phone is the slow updating of the telecom network with respect to user agent profiles.
Any mms that i receive on my DHD is resized to 2 kb. Thats pathetic and all those DHD users can imagine what a waste of the resources it is to get a 2 kb pic.
Is there a default sms application or user agent changer? I tried handcent but v3.4 does not have user agent profile changer.
I am on stock ROM unrooted.
Please help and let me make use of this otherwise awesome device.
I have the same problem, and none of the combinations i used for APN worked.
Everything send and receives okay, just the images rec'd are extremely small
Problem solved!
After days of searching, went ahead and pushed the attached Mms.apk into system/app... Then in Message app, accessed:
menu->settings->Custom User-Agent
Change UA to Nokia N95.
Now receiving normal sized MMS, the only thing is sometimes after a MMS is downloaded app will force close. But MMS is already downloaded, so force close isn't that big a problem.

How exactly did you push the file? I tried installing it via file explorer but it crashed and I tried to copy it into the system/app folder too but denied the paste.
Very sick of tiny mms files. They're killng me!!
Thanks in advance.
since the dhd and the inspire are basically the same phone would it work with my rooted custom rom inspire? and without a message app?
Hi, I recently unlocked my Incredible 2 and I'm in India. It seems that the new SIM card allows me to make voice calls fine, but I can't seem to get 3G data even after signing up for the plan here etc. It shows Airtel (service provider) in the networks list and is active, but I still cannot get it to connect. Any ideas?
Have you confirmed your APN is entered correctly?
Some help for ya: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550673

Thank you guys very much. This got me on the net with Airtel!
NOTE: I posted this in the General Section as well, but I realized that may have been the incorrect place to post my question, hence I am posting it here. Mods, feel free to delete that post in the General Section.
First off, I have a Desire Z (Bell Version) that I have rooted with stable version of CM 7.03.
I have been problems sending MMSes for a while now. I've looked up the various settings listed all over the Internet, but nothing has worked. I've tinkered and I rebooted the phone everytime I changed the APN settings.
Here's what's on my phone currently (this is after doing much tinkering from the various settings I've found on the Internet):
Name: AT&T
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: Not Set
Port: 80
Username: [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1
Server: Not Set
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: 69.209.11.32
MMS Port: 8080
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication Type: PAP or CHAP
APN Type: default,supl,mms
Now after deleting this APN and resetting to default, this is what I have:
Name: ATT
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: Not Set
Port: Not Set
Username: [email protected]
Password: Not Set
Server: Not Set
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication Type: Not Set
APN Type: default,supl,mms
After going to the default settings, I still can't send MMSes and it's driving me nuts.
Also, I noticed there's version 7.1 out. However, as far as I know, MMS supposedly works fine on the version I have and I do remember being able to send MMS in the past occasionally, so I don't know what's going on...
Anybody have any ideas?
Flash the latest nightly after a wipe. You could also try a third party texting app.

notification not working?
Hey there,
I appreciate the instructions and link! However, after I installed the alternative mms app, I am no longer receiving notifications for new incoming messages. In addition, mms appears to work intermittently.
I am on ICS 4.0.4 (CM9 ROM) if that helps. Any thoughts? Appreciate it!
