Hi guys, I just recently rooted my htc desire, before I did that everything works fine as far as I know(3g,fast download in market etc) but after I rooted my desire it only has edge and sometimes gprs connection. I checked my apn and everything is fine by the way Im with rogers right now and my phone is unbranded
Have you tried setting the phone to use UMTS only?
Its in settings -> wireless & networks -> mobile networks -> network mode
I can only see 3 options which is wcdma only, gsm only, gsm/wcdma auto. Everytime I choose wcdma only it always goes back to gsm only or gsm/wcdma auto.
Did you update the Radio?
Regards,
Dave

To be more accurate, nothing but UTMS.
The phone just will not connect to a network. This morning on 2.1 Eclaire,no problems, upgrade from 13:00GMT and then nothing.
I have gone through the following checks:
Settings, Wilress & Networks, Mobile Networks, Network Mode, and ensured that both GSM and WCDMA modes are to auto select. In that menu also ensuring that Enable Always-on Mobile data is ticked.
Using above, i have de-selected the options to use GSM only, and WCDMA only, also interchanging both of these with reboots of the phone. No go.
I have also *#*#4636#*#* , Phone Information, to see what the network was connecting as, also ensured that the phone selection preference is WCDMA preferred.
I have also changed this to be 'only' and rebooted.
I'm out of ideas, and frankly looking to see if anyone has had this problem?
Would appreciate thoughts and advice. Thanks in advance!
Same here!!! HSDPA lost immediately after updating to Froyo
Solved now, turns out APN settings got cleared during the update and needed to be rest ...
yep everytime is this APNs
had the same issue today after the upgrade, all the other settings were kept except for the APN which was a bit strange.
I just wanna know if this detail is right on my preferred network phone settings.I've got WCDMA (Preferred) selected, while other settings like GSM/CDMA etc were not ticked. Is that the right settings "WCDMA (Preferred)" for a mobile network in UK and on 3UK network? Thanks
WCDMA is also referred to as UMTS which is the technology behind 3G, so WCDMA (preferred) simply means that it will use 3G when it can.
oh,cheers for that.Now I get it
I am using a HTC desire GSM.
I've a problem with my signal strength in my country with my provider (Orange in Israel), so I need to put my Desire to use only GSM.. (I keep loosing signal while on WCDMA preferred)
But, if I configure my desire to use GSM only, I cannot connect to the Mobile Network Internet using 3g, but 2g only:-( and it's so slow..
Do I have any solution instead of configuring the desire back to WCDMA preferred when I need my Internet connection, and configuring it back to GSM only when I need the phone?
Thanks in advance
hi everyone,
I´m having a problem with my DHD (I´m using ARHD 6.1.1):
In settings > wireless & networks > mobile networks > network mode I´m not able to set only GSM, the button is just not there...
there are only 2 options, WCDMA only & GSM/WCDMA auto
I´m from Austria and have just switched to Three (3) Austria, which has only 3G network by itself. The GSM network is provided by A1. So if I´m somewhere where the 3G connection is not that good, the phone starts jumping between GSM and 3G network, which is really annoying and costs a lot of battery.
I know that there was an option like GSM only, but since the new version came out it just disappeared.
Reflash and Wipe + Flash didn´t worked for me. Radio is the correct version!
Is this a problem with the ROM or with my APN settings? I´ve just tested CM7 and there I´m able change between 2G and 3G with no problems.
Anyone has some ideas? Thanks for help!
jackazz
changes Rom
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i use ardh 3.3 and the same options there
My stock, unrooted SGN3's LTE is not working. This may be a T-Mobile issue. I know when I had a rooted LG G2, this helped me: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2494803
Is there any fix like this for the N3?
Settings -> connections tab -> more networks -> mobile networks -> network mode
Select what you want.
If you have LTE already selected and you don't have LTE, you are either in a non LTE area or you have a phone issue, call T-Mobile.
