[Q] lock button alternative?

My lock button is shot, and I was wondering if there was a way to give the volume rocker the same functionality for waking up the phone. I do not want to bypass the lock screen, such as with no lock, and I want to use the default lock screen not widget locker. Is this possible? I just want the phone to wake up when I press the volume button.
Side note, anyone else break their power button and replace it or fix it? It doesnt seem like it would be all that difficult, just wondering if anyone else has done that.
anyone have any solutions for this? I'm rooted so if there is any way to actually re-map the volume up key to have the function of the power key I could do that....
Cm7. 1 has an option to use the volume rocker to wake the phone.
Edit.... Decks rom might have the same option, as it's based off CM, but don't quote me on that as I have never used it.

Volume down button wakes phone while music is playing

I'm using the latest build of the AOKP ROM for the CDMA Nexus. I would post in the megathread but I never post on these forums so I'm not able to.
Whenever I'm listening to music the volume down button turns the screen on when pressed. The volume up button doesn't. I have the option to wake the phone with the volume buttons disabled in the ROM settings. I've also deleted any instance of the volume buttons being tied to WAKE in the system/usr/keylayout files, which worked when I was using CM9 but does nothing for me on this ROM. Just looking for any possible solutions.

Lockscreen volume awake

Anyone know of an app that can make your lock screen awaken, by pressing the volume buttons instead of the power button?
I've tried magic locker- not reliable, 1 out of 10 times it might work.
I'm stock non-rooted.
Thanks.

[SlimICS] volume button wakeup, but not if a music player is active

hey there,
I'm using Slim ICS 4.2 and there is an option to wake up the phone with the volume buttons (don't know if this is 'general' on custom roms), which is very nice cause i hold the phone mostly with my left hand and so it's the best way to wake up the phone.
the problem is, when i have the phone in my pocket, i wanna feel from outside of the pocket where the volume buttons are and press them, and the screen turns on and cause the display is near my skin, buttons get pressed and lock the lockscreen for 30 seconds and more...
cause i don't wanna miss the unlock when i don't hear music, i would like to have it disabled when a headphone is plugged in. is there any chance that this gets or is already realized in another rom??

[Q]Can I change what the volume buttons do?

Ok so I've been switching between Android & Apple for years. I absolutely love the HTC One, the best Android phones I've ever had. Infinitely better than my last Android phone, the GS3
One thing I miss though is on the iPhone, you can use Siri directly from sleep. Just press and hold the home button while the phone is asleep and Siri will come up.
Would it be possible to do that with a volume button on the HTC One with Google Now voice actions? I know right now that we can just press the power button and swipe up from the home button, but pressing 1 button is better than pressing 1 button and doing an action.
Thank you!
Oh and if you're wondering "Wouldn't you need your volume buttons for...volume? My answer is no. I can't remember the last time I've used my volume buttons on any phone, other than to initially set the volume. I use the on screen volume control 99% of the time.
