Ok I had the Virtuous v 2.6 with clockwork recover and S-off. I was using the phone today and it just froze so I rebooted and it stayed on the splash screen so I rebooted to hboot and then went to recovery which wont open it just goes to splash screen. So I did the downgrade back to 1.00 radio and .77 HBOOT to try and start over and it still gets stuck on the flash screen. Please someone what do I do?
Wipe data/factory reset then install the rooted OTA
ok can I get instructions on how to do this since I can only get into hboot?

I currently have Amon RA recovery installed. I can't boot any roms. I've been trying CM7 nightly build #27 and CM6.1. I have a nandroid backup taken from earlier yesterday when I had stock 2.2 Sense rom. I haven't been able to work with this nandroid backup from BAMod recovery or Amon RA recovery. I've been trying to flash clockwork mod. It finds the PB31IMG.zip on my sd and sprawls some stuff pretty quickly, the last thing being parsing PB31IMG.zip, it abruptly returns to the HBOOT screen after this without asking me to perform the update. I've tried a few different versions of clockwork. None of them take. I can install roms with both of the other recoveries successfully but I never get past the white HTC Incredible splash screen.
I am s-off, hboot 0.77.xx, radio 2.15.xx
I can see the device on my pc with fastboot but not adb.
Anyone dealt with this? Have suggestions?
Try updating your hboot first to .92
I updated hboot to .92.
I still can't flash any clockwork mod recoveries. They all get to parsing zip and then jump back to Hboot screen. Tried flashing Cyanogen Mod 6.1, says it was successful but its still hanging on HTC Incredible splash screen. The splash screen briefly flickers but thats it.

I installed ROM Manager and Clockwork Mod earlier this day, but then I wanted to use AmonRa and ROM Manager can't seem to find the recovery image so I did it via Unrevoked3. It didn't work.
Then I brushed it off and backed up my data, work fine. But after that it started to boot endlessly--I can enter the HBoot AND recovery, but in the recovery mode I can't do anything. If I clicked on something the screen turned blank and if I clicked it again the screen refreshed but nothing happened.
The recovery doesn't seem to have any background image as well--is it normal? I don't have any ROM, rooted of course. How can I fix this?
PLEASE help!

Boot your phone into fastboot and run a stock ruu. This will return your phone back to stock. Then run unrevoked and select amonra.
You cannot use rom-manager with amonra-recovery, it's incompatible.
Hello, I'm new to the forum. So I'll try to explain my story as detailed as possible So,
This morning I decided to root my evo running 2.3 with REVOLUTIONARY s-off.
Then I flashed superuser on the evo. it worked perfectly. And I was rooted. But that wasn't the problem. The problem started when I tried to flash a custom rom on my evo. The rom was The kingdom rom, by virus. I put it on my ad card and went into recovery, recovery seemed a little different. It had a REVOLUTIONARY logo in recovery. I flashed the rom, it was succesful, I rebooted the device and I noticed it would just stay on the first white boot screen, the one that states htc evo 4g. I left it there for 10 minutes but it still didn't leave the boot. I took out the battery and went back into recovery, I reflashed the rom and rebooted the device but no luck, the same thing persisted. So I went BACK into recovery and mounted the USB hboot with my sd card, I then put a PC36IMG.zip and flashed that because I thought that would put everything back to stock. I rebooted the phone, put to my surprise, the pc36img file was loaded before I did anything on my boot loader screen.... It was flashed and it was rebooted, but no luck. I went back to my boot loader and tried to go back into recovery but it doesn't work!!! all I see now when I choose recovery is a picture of a phone with an exclamation point. This is weird but I think I'm partially rooted because in my boot loader it is s-off and has a REVOLUTIONARY boot logo.... Please help, I booted my device and all I see is the first boot screen, and I've seen that for 2 hours and 24 minutes.... Help me please!!!
Running an RUU replaces the recovery with the stock recovery, which is pretty much not a recovery. I believe if while on that screen (the red triangle recovery screen) if you hold both volume buttons at the same time you'll be given some options. Anyway, you just need to flash a recovery.
Here is Amon Ra: http://db.tt/WP0beNa
It's a PC36IMG file. Remove the other one and flash that. Then boot into recovery, wipe boot, data, cache, dalvik, sd-ext, and .android_secure. Then flash the rom or try a different one.

I recently tried to flash the non rooted stock rom for the evo 4g from the bootloader. However, when the update got to system, it failed with this next to it, "Failure-PU." I have done this procedure before and it succeeded without problems. However now, it won't work. The update as a whole failed obviously, and when I try to boot into recovery, it gets stuck at the htc evo 4g splash screen. I have used fastboot and the bootloader itself to flash both amon ra and clockwork. It says it was completed everytime. However, I still can't boot into recovery. It continues to hang up. I need urgent help! I can't afford to replace my phone!
EDIT: Finally fixed it. Cleared storage in HBOOT and reflashed Amon RA.
MY dinc can boot up but gets stuck at boot screen.
I can get into recovery but even after I do a recovery it still is the same.
It says *** LOCKED (OOW) *** at the top of HBOOT screen. How do I go about fixing this?

Have you tried wiping everything thru recovery, and then installing the rom fresh, instead of restoring a backup just to see if it works?
There's a factory reset in stock recovery. Try that. It sounds like you're not rooted so I expect you'd have stock recovery.

I have tried both of those options and neither one worked for me. I have clockworkmod installed.
I assume in order to get cwm on there in the first place you had to unlock the bootloader. However you posted that it says locked oow at the top of hboot, meaning somehow it got locked again. Im assuming or should i say guessing that the bootloader being locked again is preventing cwm from flashing things correctly. If you have unlocked before and still have the unlock_code.bin file, use fastboot to flash it to the phone to unlock it again. Then fastboot flash cwm again and see if it works. If you do not have the bin file i would do the htc dev unlock again on their site and then fastboot flash cwm.
