Froyo 2.2 + HTC_CIME with handwriting - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I updated to Froyo, and HTC added Chinese input which I appreciate, but it still lacks the handwriting recognition. I know there's an apk for HTC_CIME, but I am not sure if that works on 2.2.
Does anyone know about how to get HTC's Traditional Chinese Handwriting Recognition (HTC_CIME) on 2.2?
Thank you!

I want to use the Elite 3.0 rom, but since im from Norway i need the norwegian letters æøå. So i was wondering how i port the keyboard layout, and t9 dictionary from a norwegian rom, to the elite 3.0?
Been trying to read about cooking, but have not found out what files the t9 and keyboard layout are stored in.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Multi-Language Gingerbread Keyboard? [Asian Languages]

Hey guys,
So I've looked and looked and looked, and haven't seemed to be able to find a way to install any Asian language pack onto my Gingerbread keyboard. I'm an International Studies major, and I do a lot of Korean, so I'm kinda looking for a way to get that installed... This was perfectly simple BEFORE I rooted, it was just a matter of selecting the correct locale and then swiping the spacebar when I wanted to switch languages. But then I rooted to Syndicate rom and I lost my Samsung keyboard...
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Kangaji
have you tried MultiLing GengerBread Keyboard? you can download language packs for it and switch to which ever pack you download.
But do you know where I can find the language packs? 'Cause I've been looking and the only things I've found so far are Russian, Greek, and Spanish, and I don't really use those languages...

[Q] HTC keyboard with Hebrew support for DHD -Does it exist?

Hello everyone,
At the moment I'm using "perfect keyboard" for Hebrew support but I really prefer HTC's keyboard.
I noticed it supports many languages. I was wondering if it Is possible to add Hebrew support for HTC's keyboard?
Thanks in advance.
Same question....
Is anybody knows something about it?

Native Chinese input?

Hey everyone,
Is there a native Android Chinese input method? I know that iOS allows you to write the characters. Is there something similar that is not third party.
Thanks!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
My dad was wondering the same thing. Unfortunately I don't see it in my friend's Galaxy Nexus, so I would say no, it does not have native Chinese input and you'll need to download a third party one (unless custom ROMs have it, then you can go that route).
There is, however, native Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) voice typing. So you can select "Chinese, Yue (Hong Kong)" and when you press the voice command (on the keyboard or for Google search) you can search for things by speaking Cantonese which is pretty cool.
HTC does a good job of filling in what Vanilla Android is missing as HTC keyboards (probably only in Asian versions of HTC phones) have pinyin and hand writing options on their custom keyboards. Pretty accurate recognition too (I have it on my HTC Panache).

Google's Pinyin IME. Hope this helps.

Updated to latest German Firmware ALJ3, lost handwriting recognition with US kb

Updated to the latest German BTU ALJ3 firmware, everything is GREAT except one problem. The handwriting recognition only works on the 3 preinstalled keyboard language packs in the firmware, German, (English)UK and I think Korean. I downloaded the (English)US keyboard language, everything works except no handwriting recognition window option.
Any help guys? :crying:
I'm using the UK English keyboard right now, as far as I can tell it works and looks the same as the US version. Any difference I should be concerned about? It's strange that handwriting recognition is missing with the US Keyboard with this firmware.

Same happened to me. I lost my polish handwriting recognition toggle. Any idea how to recover it?
UP!
I have the same problem on the stock ALJ2 (my phone hasn't even been rooted yet). By deleting Samsung Keyboard's cache and data and adding just the language you want afterward, you can force it to do handwriting recognition in that language. However, the moment you add one of the stock languages (German or English (UK)) it hijacks the handwriting recognition again and it only works for that language from that point on.
It definitely looks like a bug. I hope Samsung fixes this in the next update. Has anyone submitted a bug report yet?
