I have been building a car dock for my droid incredible for the past month, see the Incredible USB/TV-Out Demystified - Tv out works!!! (won't let me link it because I am a new member). With 2.1 on my phone I was able to ground the 10th pin in order to activate the headset mode through the 12 pin usb I took from the TV OUT cable I purchased from verizon. I ended up ruining that particular cable and just received a new TV OUT cable to fabricate a new dock out of. I successfully created the new dock, but my phone will not go into headset mode and the only difference is that I am not running 2.2 on my Dinc. Anybody have any ideas? I'm definitely better on the hardware end of things and am wondering if any of you software guys have any insight or see anything different with the 2.2's rules for micro usb use?

Will a Micro-HDMI to regular HDMI fit the Incredible? If not what do I use to display my phone on my TV?
The Incredible uses a mirco-USB to compsite tv-out cable.
Actually its a custom cable by htc. i dont believe just any micro to composite will work, since the video isnt actually output through the usb but through 7? more seperate pins that are a little tougher to spot. You may be a able to find a third party built one but your best bet would be from htc or verizon.
heres a thread dedicated to it. It even explains how to build one.
another thing to keep in mind is currently no AOSP roms(such as CM7) support tv-out
One great ROM that does support TV out is Warm Z TwoPointTwo
I got my cable through overstock.com for 16.99 just Google tv-out for incredible and it'll pop up

Motorola-induced webtop hack anyone?
It's just a compact version of the regular dock. Hence the "travel" label. I guess you would say that the dock and lapdock are both Motorola induced webtop hacks too?
Not everyone who gets these phones (and you could probably make the case for most) know about the hacks and mods we have, so Motorola cashes in.
Not trying to be rude, or anything. I agree that it's "lol" as far them charging $30 for it, but your parting thought is kind of ridiculous.
My comment is because they waited so long to release it. I have a buddy that works in the local att store and he mentioned that this was the most common mod that he saw with this phone. Thanks for the response.

its for the bionic
I bought the Webtop travel adapter from Amazon thinking it would work with the 4G Atrix. Sadly I should have read the Amazon comments because the HDMI and USB connectors are round the wrong way.
Not to be put off, I prised the adapter open and was surprised to find two separate PCBs side by side. One for the HDMI (which has no components on it, just tracks connecting the male and female HDMI connectors) the second is for the USB which does have components on it.
I removed the USB PCB and connected it to my Atrix along with the HDMI cable that came packaged with the Webtop adapter. The "Select an application to launch" pop up appeared. No Webtop option, so I chose "Entertainment Centre".
Once this had launched I scrolled to the right 4 places and there is "launch Webtop". Launched webtop, and sure enough it all works using the mouse and keyboard that appear on the Atrix screen.
I did try shorting together pins 4 and 5 on the adapters USB male connector, but it does not force USB OTG, so no USB keyboard unfortunately. All this did was stop the application picker launching at all so I quickly removed it.
It worked for me, cannot guarantee that it will work for everyone. Do mind you fingers if you try prising open the adapter case.
There is no mention whether this adapter fits the Atrix. I also couldn't find any information on Motorola website about this adapter.

It's for the new webtop phones, not the atrix4g. Though according to the guy that posted right above your post, it's mod-able.
Hi everyone,
I am looking to make a custom car dock for my epic 4g. i know that the usb can be setup to have the audio come out of it. All i need to do is get a 619k (I believe) resister from the ID pin to ground. Issue is that i cannot find a cable that has all 5 wires so i can hack this setup together. Does anyone know where to get one? Ive looked all over good ebay ect ect. Im running out of ideas
Yes, this is a question about GNex accessories, and I was going to post it in the "Accessories" forum; however, it is still a question:
Does anyone know of a dock or cradle that will allow me to insert the GNex into it and thereby connect it to my TV (using the three pins on the side) without having to use one of those MHL microUSB to HDMI adapters? In other words, I want to be able to charge the device and connect it to my TV by placing it in the cradle and not have to connect the adapter every time I want to use it in that fashion. I am assuming I would still need the MHL microUSB to HDMI adapter, but could I plug it into the back of some hitherto unknown docking station??? And get it to charge also??? Seems like a lot to ask right?
*** Forgot to add, this is for the GSM version ***
Sounds like You are looking for this kind of desktop cradle.
It is something Mugen announced recently. Release date April 20, 2012. Charges the phone, HDMI connection for TV, etc...

Hi everyone
I know this has been posted in another forums, but without any or good answer.
What i want it's to make an USB to 3.5 Jack adapter to use with my Galaxy S2.
Anyone can help me with this? I'm curretly using RR and as far i could read it says it doesn't have the Dock mode. So, this will be possible?
Thanks for the help!

These are the pinouts for the micro USB with instructions on how to make the cable. You can ignore the power input unless you are trying to make a nifty car dock...
Sorry I don't know about dock mode, but different ROMS behave way differently on the USB, so I would try ROMs and kernels until it works. I think ICS is better for USB connecting things.
Good luck.
Tried on RR 2.4 with Samsung Desktop Dock using line out from the dock to speakers - doesn't work.
Was hopeful because I saw Dock audio settings under System Settings --> Dock, but Audio options was greyed out. Likely to be an issue with CM9 and Siyah kernals.
i've gone about it in a different way. i'm fitting a usb port to a blanking cover in my dash board and taking a aux line in from my head unit and power from behind the dash (ignition fed). as i have an s3 i need 1 amp for the power side of things. all parts have come from ebay for about £11.00 about $18.00
Nice work Post pics/detailed instructions. I'm sure other people will be very interested.
