have installed new rom a few weeks back defrost 3.1, was all working fine that i remember, i also have smart keyboard pro installed, I cant find any options that i turned it off, but for some reason, it doesnt work at all when you slide your fingers over it inside any text, the actual pressing of the button works just not the moving of the cursor for correcting typos
hardware failre? rom problem? or some setting?
thanks in advance
Got the same problem and i think its not integrated in the ROM yet
Loads of people are having this problem with loads of roms (non sense).
Will be fixed when HTC release their source apparently.
Had it on OD 4.0.3 and 4.0.4. It just required another full wipe and things are working perfectly since. I knew it was the ROM as I didn't experience this on HTC 2.2 and nor in Recovery.

hi are you saying that you have to use od and a full wipe to get it to work? or it should work on any with a full wipe? your right in recovery it works though!
It seems to be an issue with the driver being used in all Non-Sense roms.
I know of no non-sense roms that have it fully working (based on my readings)

I'm just mentioning that the trackpad has started working perfectly for me after a full wipe when using a non-Sense ROM. Wiping other caches didn't help until I did a full wipe>reflash clean ROM.
Here's the long version:
When using a previous version (3.1.0) of the same ROM (OpenDesire), the trackpad first stopped responding only intermittently, then had suddenly become buggy in registering most touches and after a few weeks, overnight, its functioning totally ceased. I then did a full wipe>reflash of my old saved HTC 2.2 ROM (Nandroid save) and the trackpad was just fine. So I did some checks. I flashed OpenDesire version 4.0.3 (latest then) but without a clean wipe (only caches) and the same trackpad problem reappeared. Then I did a full wipe>reflash of the same clean ROM and everything worked fine. But when I updated to the new version 4.0.4 of the same ROM without a full wipe, the same trackpad problems reappeared. Hence, I just did a full wipe and reflashed the clean version 4.0.4 and all works well since.

Hi All,
Been having a problem with the touchscreen randomly becoming unresponsive or the phone rebooting on its own ever since when I'm (trying) to run MIUI ROMs.
By "random" I mean that it sometimes occurs while typing, switching home screens, opening an app, or even just when the phone's idle.
Not experiencing any unexpected FCs throughout the MIUI ROMs that I've tried however... so at least that's a good thing?
I don't experience any of these problems at all when running a stock Sense ROM, so I'm hoping it's not the same rebooting problem described in another thread that requires sending it in for repairs as that would be very troublesome.
The phone's a HKCSL Desire that was rooted using unRevoked. The problems occur even when I don't install any apps onto the phone and when the phone's just idle with the screen off (for randomly rebooting).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated =) and I hope I'm not just SOL for MIUI ROMs since no one else seems to really be having these problems.
---
List of things I've tried:
1. Full wipe with Dalvik & cache before flashing a ROM (many, many times)
2. Updating to 32.48.00.32U_5.11.05.14 radio and downgrading to the suggested 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2 (Thought it might've been caused by WiFi connection as I always have it on... but doesn't seem like it)
3. Using different versions of Clockworkmod (2.5.0.7, 2.5.0.1, 2.5.0.1 modified by MIUI.cn)
4. Repartitioning/formatting SDCard before/after flashing a new ROM
5. RUU-ing the phone and redoing everything from scratch
6. Using an untranslated base MIUI-Desire ROM
7. "Upgrading" the ROM by flashing on top of the 10.15 build
Versions of MIUI ROMs I've tried:
Pretty much all the releases of 10.15 and 10.22. Currently fiddling around with eevek's stock 10.29 and mobiousdigital et al.'s 10.29 builds.
Hopeful bump =)
Hi everybody!
I've recently flashed my rooted unbranded htc desire with the starburst 1.2.1+app2sd. Everything has gone well, except that my desire doesn't recognize anymore two touch input, only one (the pinch-to-zoom doesn't work so I tested the multitouch with an app, so I'm sure that is a real problem). What am I missing? Did I do something bad? Thanks!
I've seen that the 1.3.0 is out, right now I'm backing up so I'll see if flashing the new one will solve the problem
Perfect! With the new release everything is back to normal! This thread can be closed
Now it stopped working again!
I simply can't understand, I flash, it works for a while and suddenly it stops again. I can't keep on flashing, please someone has an idea?
I've done another flashing (I hope the last one) without wiping and applying the data2sd reinstaller. It seems to work properly, hope it'll last
Having trouble with the latest LeeDroid HD ROM have flashed many LeeDroid roms before without issue but for some reason aftering clearing all caches and running the latest rom it will install ok but on reboot it just hangs on the White HTC screen and won't boot in.
Any Ideas what could be causing it?
Currently Running LeeDroid HD v3.0.1, LeeDroid Kernel v3.1.1 radio 12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2
Make sure you're deleting all data do a full factory reset (deletes all data does not actually restore to factory condition) then clear the dalvik cache, re apply the ROM make sure its CLEAN and you haven't modified it, don't apply any themes or anything, then let it boot and be patient.
Try downloading it again also it could be a corrupt download.

I had similar issue few days back. But i had the Leedroid rom (same rom, kernel as urs) already runing flawlessly for a few days. It decided just to hangs at the same HTC Screen... tried to clear caches(all), hard reset, reflash same rom... still stuck same place. I finally had to flash stock 1.32 image, root all over again, etc. ... and flash Leedroid (same) again... works fine now
I got the feeling that I made my friends with their stock DHD and Iphone users drooling and jealous of my phone(csutomised with sense 3.0 stuffs), and they collectively jinxed my phone, and had this crash! lolz
btw. i flashed SAME rom i had on my sdcard, so I think the rom fine(mine at least). just something triggered that crash!
all the best...
Yea i tried reflashing from stock rom the other day loaded up one of the RUU exe's and rerooted etc and tried to reflash with no luck so i'm all out of ideas

Have also done factory reset and cleared dalvik cache etc. no joy
Just managed to find a copy of LeeDroid HD V3.0.2 have installed and found it also crashes but.... it gets to the LeeDroid Android screen, little further but unfortunately still crashes
Managed to get 3.0.3 working on my DHD turns out it was just down the cwm version i had, updated to 3.0.2.5 and boom worked first time =D only problem i have had with both 3.0.1 and 3.0.3 is the camera keeps dropping out, app doesn't force close but the screen keeps going black and all buttons dissapear then all comes back... =( Atleast i'm up to date though
Any Idea's on the Cam issue?
have run logcat and noticed the following in the log
W/mm-camera( 1400): config_proc_CAMERA_STOP_SNAPSHOT: state is not correct ctrl->state = 25 W/mm-camera( 1400): VFE_RESET_ACK illegal ctrl->state 24
dunno if that makes any sense to anyone
tinkered with it a little last night didn't seem to make a difference so left it over night and for some odd reason works fine this morning i think the issue was down the camera app itself but it looks to be working fine now thankfully
UPDATE:
Ok looks like the issue is still there found out what is causing it thought, the camera works fine but...only when wifi is off, if you turn wifi back on you get the same issue as before,
Please anyone got an idea on wtf?
UPDATE2: have worked out it must be the camera app due to the fact i download a different app which appeared to work fine. Not sure why there's a glitch though
Sorry for not posting the solution, for the solution, I will post it now.
Problem:
My S-OFF and rooted Desire worked fine with different Sense 2.1+3.0 ROM's. Then I wanted to try out a fully Sense 3.0 ROM - this worked fine (despite that it killed my cam + flash), but I found it a bit slow on my Desire, so I wanted to restore a backed up ROM. After the restore, my Desire keeps booting into the ROM, stays at the home screen for 1-5 seconds, and then reboots. This cycle goes on untill the battery is empty. I also tried to install ROM's from scratch with full wipe, but the outcome is the same as above.
Solution:
I installed the official Stock RUU ROM and then it works again, I even rooted it and also run the Alpha Rev to make it S-OFF. All this without any problems...or that is almost without any problems, because my cam + flash are still not working..!
New problem
After this I of course tried to install new ROM's again, but this doesn't work any more, the the initial Issue with rebooting reappears.
Maybe instead of just writing solved, leave the problem there and add your solution for other users that might encounter the same problem.

Greetings. I've noticed some problems with installation of the greatest rom out there Swagged on Stock - On. I'm using an EVO 4G and I also had a few problems getting the latest and greatest up and running without problem. First off, using a good stable Sense rom update all the radios, PRL and Profile. Next, use the factory data wipe. Get it back to factory clean. Next use AmonRa (important) to install the new Rom, SOS1907. Make sure Dalvik and cache and everything and I mean everything gets wiped !!! Since I like the feature that allows me to change the picture for the keys, I used Metamorph to make the assignable key a camera. Next using Launchkey I assigned the camera to the key. After that I used Titanium Backup to put everything back into the game. Then using the Market I checked for updates. I rebooted and everything has been working excellently since. I had a number of little problems, graphics, apps, etc and after really cleaning everything up and starting with a clean phone, the install went smooth and has been fine since. AmonRa seems to be important in getting the install just right. SOS rocks !
