Menu UNLOCK on Sense roms? - Desire General

How do you enable menu to unlock in sense roms? Is it kernel hack? Patched rosie.apk? Im testing a rom and I like it but if I cannot add this feature I can't live with it.

Ew... That's gonna need Rosie's source, I don't think adding a hotkey will be an easy mod.

Trackball wake

Does anyone know how to enable trackball wake? I'm currently using Abtekk's custom ROM which is an oxygen port I think. Had no luck searching anywhere.

Hmm... Usually, it's hidden away in the plethora of settings (mostly in the advanced options or in/around one of the lock screen sections) but it really depends on the ROM. For example, CM7 has it, but, as far as I've been able to look, CM9 doesn't. If anyone knows, he's probably in that ROM's thread, try asking there and they should be able to help.

[Q] How to enable CRT effect on ICS Sense

How to enable the CRT effect on ICS Sense? I've spent hours on it and I just can't make it work!
anybody help me please? =)
If you mean crt effect for screen on/off then there is option in rom control.
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda app-developers app
I don't use sense but for me on Mimicry, it's
System Settings -> Display -> Screen-off animation.
Not all roms actually use the term "CRT" for the effect.

If it didn't come with the rom, you don't, least no way I know of. Maybe ask the person who created the rom?

HTC Blocked it on Sense 4.0/4.1, idk why. We can't do this on One X ROMs neither, even on AOKP/cm9/10.
I vaguely remember someone putting a link on XDA about a mod for the CRT effect. Try that.

Better unlock functionality in 4.2?

Would it be possible to (or does some rom already have it that I don't know about) make it so that lockscreen widgets in 4.2 can be fully expanded by default and then unlocked just by swiping the unlock up? So basically the widget could be shrunk back and the phone unlocked all in one motion?
This would basically unlock in a similar way to HTC Sense. I'm just not a huge fan of having to first shrink the widget and then unlock as it feels like a totally unnecessary step.
I think Xylon has quick press and hold to unlock, but I found Xylon to be pretty unstable on my VZW nexus. Could that functionality be ported to any rom? If it matters I'm running Liquid Smooth Beta.
Any help would be awesome. Thanks.
Team sourcery rom has auto maximize widgets and long press lock key to unlock phone. Works very well for what you are looking for

right, I've done that but it still takes two swipes to unlock. One up and one to the right. Not a huge deal but I'd like a quicker unlock option.

I don't think that option is available in CM10. I think it's just like that by default.

A user has to edit the systemui.apk in order to enable System UI Tuner.
This takes decompiling the apk, editing and recompiling. The custom ROMs that have it enabled, dev's have simply edited the apk and any necessary frameworks.
This isn't something you can do yourself unless you're familiar with recompiling apk's and editing smali etc.

We, thanks for this answer.
I just want System UI Tuner for hiding icons in status bar.
Do you know any other way how I can hide them?
Last time I recompiled .apks was on M7 release

Sure do.
Install Xposed and GravityBox.
Fortunately Sense8 is really close to AOSP/stock so many (not all) of the features/mods work. I've cleaned up my quicksettings (instead of using System Tuner) and made a few changes to my statusbar with GravityBox.
