Hey guys,
I have rooted Desire 2.1 with the stock rom.
Now, after HTC released the Froyo to asia, I would like to update to it.
but I have some questions :
1.to unroot and than do OTA for 2.2, I only need to install the RSUU right ?
2.will I have to root the 2.2? is there a root for it? ( I have bootloader 0.80)
Thanks !

I updated my Desire to 2.2 when official Froyo came out, and now I would like to root and go for other ROMs, so my question is: Can i root? And which is the easiestway.
Thanks in advance
Downgrade hboot to 0.80 or 0.83 and then unrevoke it, voila, choose the rom you want
Hi I installed the rom from here: [ROM] Rooted Official HTC Android 2.2 (FroYo) ROM - xda-developers, and i was wondering what is the easiest possible way to regain warranty. I rooted with unrevoked3 on a mac. Thanks in advance.
Oh and I'm on Telus
You can downgrade and root here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768256

I've just bought a Desire Z, but it run 1.82 firmware... I seen some guides about rooting and downgrading but they don't talk about 1.82 firmware but just about 1.72 . How can I root it and flash a recovery??
Thanks in advice
Follow the same guide as 1.72, that should work.

ooops i've updated to gingerbread.... what guide can I use for downgrade?? Or is rootable GB and can I install a recovery?
EDIT: Are custom rom better than the stock one?
Hey Guys I just did the Froyo Downgrade onto my Desire Z and some of the apps I use just can't run on Froyo... I have the system update to Gingerbread android 2.3.3 with HTC Sense 2.1 and I want to go back to Gingerbread....
Is it okay to install the Gingerbread update?
well if you want to forget about obtaining root access and s-off that is possible only from froyo then you may update to gingerbread.
Else you can go and follow the rooting guide to obtain root, s-off after which you can flash custom roms of your choice i.e, Froyo/ Gingerbread / ICS
