[Q] Can't Select anything in Recovery 2.5.0.5 - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have S-OFF tried running unrevoked 3 again to reflash recovery but no luck. Anyone have a resolution for this?

Details? When you say "can't", does the optical button do nothing, or does it not do what you'd expect? Did earlier recoveries work?

The optical button does nothing and earlier recoveries worked fine.

Okay, three possible approaches:
1. Redownload and try again (in case of corrupt download).
2. Make doubly sure you flashed the version for the inc.
3. Flash back to 2.5.0.4. There really aren't any major improvements in 2.5.0.5.

Uh you can use the volume rocker and power key....did you try that?

what exactly do you do to make this work? I reverted back to 2.4 and it still won't work properly.

Maybe a dumb question, but does the optical track pad work in other apps? I.e. If you're keying a text message can you use the track pad to move around?

[Q] Which Incredible ROMs support optical trackpad wake?

Can anyone point me to, or provide me, a list of ROMs that support Optical Trackpad wake for the Incredible? I had a Trackball Wake option on my Eris, and I really miss that on the Inc.
I flashed Cyanogen Mod last December before my first Dinc broke and I believe it did. But it doesn't have sense fyi

I have only tried a few roms, but If im not mistaking you can just flash the /usr files over any droid inc rom and it should enable the trackpad wake and unlock.
I pulled the usr folder from rewind 3d rom (which has trackpad wake and unlock) and made an update.zip. Go ahead and just place in the root of your sd and flash.
Let me know if it worked out for you?

Newt's Hybrid Sense 3.0 Rom has it
Sky Raider 4.X does, running 4.3 now.

What recovery are you using? toggle verification off and flash again, if on ClockWorkMod

Your flash won't work for Froyo. GB mods won't work on Froyo and vica versa.
Im really interested in this but i rather stay with my unofficial ota froyo so if there is any other way please let me know.

use skyraider 4.2-4.3
All of Chingy's ROMs have it built in. As far as I know, it's kinda hit and miss whether it works or not. Every ROM I ever tried with it sometimes worked the first push, sometimes the 10th push.

[Q] Help Please INC stuck in bootloop

Last night I updated to latest CM7 nightly (I believe 146 or 147 but not sure), then attempted to flash Rover Lockscreen via File manager. It appeared to flash properly but am now stuck in a bootloop. I am running Hboot0.92 and CW3.0.0.8.
When I boot into Hboot and then Recovery anything I try to do it just show the CW icon and nothing else, pressing power takes me back to CW menu.
In searching the forums I have found this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1031752&highlight=bootloop. Should I follow the instructions from the post or is there anything else I could do.
Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance!!!
Did you try using the track pad to select things in Recovery, not the power button? Try that first.

Think he just erased his Rom, just making sure he doesn't have an old recovery before trying to flash a new rom. Do new roms work with hboot.79? can't remember

Was it not working when they gave it to you because that is crap? In that case you got a bad rom on your device from the start.
In any case good to hear it's working.

Only froyo roms works with hboot .79 and hboot .92 is more so a requirement for gingerbread and newer.

Can't get past Recovery

I have my daughter's Incredible I'm trying to rehabilitate. I had it perfectly solidly flashed with Stock+, but now I'm finding that while I can get it into recovery (CWM 5.0.2.0) I am unable to do anything other than scroll within recovery. Pressing "power" just gets me a blank recovery screen. I can get into hboot (ver. 1.02.0000). I had done the htc dev unlock some time ago, and the radio is 2.15.10.07.07. When I tried Amon Ra instead (which is what I run on my Rezound) I couldn't even navigate within the recovery.
I can get into the device via adb or fastboot as well, I just can't do anything when in recovery.
I *can* navigate within hboot, so it isn't a question of the power button or volume buttons not working.
Any suggestions for how I can move forward? Should I RUU and start over?
Thanks in advance.
Pressing the trackball when inside recovery is used for selections. Hboot utilizes the power button for selections.

[Q] Touch Recovery for HTC Wildfire?

My HTC Wildfire's trackball has broke. WHICH IS HORRIBLE NEWS!!!! This means I cannot install custom ROM's which I loving doing (for some reason). I cannot use the Recovery because to select something, I need the trackball, which is stupid, and installing through ROM Manager doesn't work all the time. Is there any stable TOUCH recovery for Buzz out there? Please tell me, else, this Willy is useless. Any suggestions will be appreciated!
I am running:
Cyanogenmod 6.1.0 (6 because 7 is too buggy and 6 is smooth)
ROM Manager (Up to date, but installing ROMs doesn't work)
Clockworkmod 3.x (x because I can't remember exactly)
Thanks!
- Ikram232
EDIT: I don't need a TOUCH recovery, I need at least a recovery that doesn't require a trackball. I don't care how old it is, as long as it install custom ROMs!

I hope this could work. But i never tested myself...

Clockwork mod version 5.x x x+ has a thing built in where you can scroll up and down using menu and home, using power to select things instead of power being the back button. If you I stall it and then hit the buttons a few times it should enable stating "back button enabled"

No luck, installed the official ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.0 and you can move about with the volume rocker and HOME to go up and MENU to go down. BACK and SEARCH just makes it go back to the top of the menu and the POWER switch just hides the menu and show the background. That was a fail! Anything else? Or is the phone done for?
EDIT: it might be the one I install, do you have a link to the one that you had/have?
